Uther was speechless at the moment. Making three friends was surprising to him, especially since Uther had problems with making friends before. This left a small grin on the boy but soon after, it vanished when someone else showed up and threatened them to go back to their dorms. Daemon already left at the time so Uther couldn't chase after him and it's not like he can go out there by himself without getting lost. With only a few options he decided to hide behind Keio. "Will Xavier b-be all right? I mean about him dueling against t-that guy..." He only felt worried for Xavier because his opponent looked strong.
Adrien had scanned the crowd for a moment after the duel had ended. It wasn't unusual to have people watch duels, especially when the intense power house cards they were using were in play. Returning his gaze to Daemon he smiled a bit. Then Daemon waanted his opinion of him and Adrien let out a small chuckled. "Yeah Daemon, I suppose so. Come on, we should get back to the task at hand." Adrien spoke in a much friendlier voice now and motioned for Daemon to follow him as he began to walk off. "By the way. I might have a few ideas for that deck of yours if you're interested." Adrien offered as he walked off.
Finally slowing down Cécile let go of Moros' wrist and ran a few steps ahead of him turning around and stopping, then proceeded to smile and spread out her arms and spin around while giggling. She then stopped with her back towards Moros for the most part, but then looked over her shoulder at him. "This is close to the main city, there are lots of places to eat, or just spend time relaxing, maybe enjoy ones self, or perhaps it will be where I wipe the floor with you. The choice is really yours on what this place becomes. The important thing is that you enjoy the fact that we're away from the school!" As she said that last part she spun just enough to be facing Moros smiling at him cheerfully.
Moros thought about it, welllll, they were already away from school. Really there was probably no point in going back, they probably wouldn't have school for the rest of the day anyway. Of course they should probably go into their dorms anyway because they might be counted as missing. Moros pushed those thoughts away, he always was a sucker for a good time. "Aw fine, first things first, if we're going to have a fun time we can't do it without sugar. I personally favor ice cream, and you?" Moros asked eager to have some fun.
Cécile once more giggled and hopped once in front of Moros once more grabbing his wrist once more and dragging down the street to an ice cream stand and quickly ordered some popsicles grabbing the blueberry and offering Moros the cherry one. "Will this do at least?" Cécile offered happy to have someone to spend time with her.
Moros snatched the popsicle, "Good enough for me." he said giving her a cherry smile. Then he thought back to what Adrien said. If Cecile liked him, and he didn't dislike her, meaning that he liked her. Then what two people that liked each other spent time toghether wasn't that a date? Moros flushed a pleasent tomato shade of red and turned away licking his popsicle. So they were on a date. Right? But did that change anything? Kind of not really sorta. Moros pondered it throughly and took a chomp of his popsicle, the cold flavored ice clearing his thoughts. Psh it would be just like spending time with people normally. Except he didn't really spend time with people normally. Hm.
Cécile had closed her eyes enjoying the blueberry flavor of her popsicle after Moros had given her a smile. Everything was going smoothly, and Moros seemed to be having a good time so far! When she opened her eyes again Moros seemed to acting a bit odd all of a sudden. "So, now that we've had our sugar," Cécile started as she bit off a bit of her snack, 'shall we proceed to the next part of our day...? " She smirked lightly, but still had a clear smile too as she looked at Moros.
Moros broke out of his musing and answered Cecile, "Of course-" his first thought was to take her up on her duel offer but that didn't seem right for some reason. Not like the thing someone would do a date. Which this might be. Besides, if he wanted to duel her he could do so at anytime, so he should take advantage of this free time when they had it. But once again he didn't know where they were and he had never 'hung' out with friends before so he wasn't sure what to do. "Why don't you lead me around for the first half of our free time, and I'll do it the second half hmk?" Moros asked.
Giggling Cécile nodded and yet again grabbed Moros by the wrist and as usual began to drag him off once more. Their first stop being yet another store involving Duel Monsters, though this time Cécile decided to skip the cards for once, no she wanted something else here, and maybe they could find Moros one too. At last they were in the area invovling duel disks. Of course you had a bunch of standard ones, but what Cécile was here for was getting a custom one. "So how about we check some of these out first?" Of course Cécile could only hope Moros loved Duel Monsters as much as she did, or else he might think all she thought about was the game, which granted was a big part of her life.
Moros grinned, duel disks, he loved just looking at them. There were so many custom styles, flames, rainbow ones, basically anything you could imagine. Of course Moros could only afford the most basic of them, a rather boring shade of white with standard travel form. "That sounds perfect." Moros said as he eagerly purused the selection. So many so many. As he marveled at them his eyes locked on a duel disk with a beautiful shade of liquid blackness. As strange a sentence as it way the darkness seemed to shine. Whats more the tag next to it read it's travel form was that of a skull, that also served as fully funtional watch. Moros grabbed it and slipped it onto his other arm folding and unfolding it as he watched its smooth movement. The day and date were displayed in the eyeholes and the time was shown in the mouth. The card slots when extended even had awesome swirly portals and the edges of it looked like they were rimmed with bone. It was basically the coolest thing he had ever seen. He put it back reluctantly when he was finished playing with it, there was nooooo way he would be able to afford that until he like, was old. Moros turned back to Cecile quickly plastering a smile over the forlorn look he had, "So anything catch your eye?"
"Well..." Cécile started as she was holding a packaged box that had her name on it. "I actually had one custom made before I left for my trip." She said as she slowly opened the box revealing the gleaming black metalic dueldisk. The card holder had been designed as the head of a 'Red-Eyes Black Dragon' while the card slots were encased by a wing of the dragon, while the second wing became the part in which gripped the duelists arm. The duel disk was also outlined in a low glow of orange and red to represent the burning ash caused by flames. The life points were also in a deep crimson red instead of the usual standard coloration. Finally Cécile took it out of the box and tried it on. "So what do ya think?"
Moros googled at it, it looked like it was built just for her. The dragon head was awesome and even had flaming wings. FLAMING WINGS! Even the LPs were custom colored. "Wow, it looks perfect on you." somewhat belatedly he realized the more normal thing to say probably would've just been to say 'it looks perfect'. "If I had a disk that nice I would use it all the time. Guess there's no point in looking at disks if you already have one that nice. Got somewhere to head to next in mind?"
Cécile smiled kindly at Moros. "Yeah I think I do, but first you should grab that one you like too, this one is on me." Cécile winked at Moros as she walked over to pay for the two items and then turned back to face Moros. "So now you can have a nicer custom duel disk as well! So we can both have things adjusted more to our styles!"
Moros paused for a moment figuring out what she had said. She was going to pay for it? The thing cost like, super many moneys. "Uh, are you sure about that? You really shouldn't..." Moros said weakly as his protests were ignored. Even if Cecile and her brother attended tournaments and stuff all the time that still had to be a chunk of money. He felt like he had made her buy it for him, because after all if he hadn't found it then she wouldn't have bought it for him. "Well at least let me say I helped." Moros said defeated by her insistence. He pulled out a coin from his pocket and handed it to her, "At least a little." Moros said grinning at her.
"Now, I believe you said something about using that all day if you had it..." Cécile said a look of excitement on her face as she slid her deck into the holder and the eyes of the Red-Eyes lit up. "So why don't we give them a little bit of a test drive?" Cécile's eyes had gone from sweet and innocent to a more serious look. After all, dueling was her true calling, and one of her biggest passions.
Moros grinned, now this, this was something he knew how to do. "Sounds good to me." he said confidently as he strapped it on and the duel disk snapped into position, the blackness rippling almost as if in anticipation of the duel. He took his deck out of his pocket and inserted it. The bones on the edge of it rippled and Moros looked around for someone to duel, "So uh, who we gonna test them on?"
Two guys were in the corner talking, almost looking like they were watching them. They wore blue outfits with white lining by the edges and hemming. the shirt under their jackets were black with the Spellbinding Circle image. They had just bought disks too, and they could be seen on their arms. One had a long black wing on it as the card zones, the other a similar design but the wing was green. The men walked up to the duo and one said, "You need opponents? We would be happy to oblige!" The other stood behind him and smirked.
Streching out her arm Cécile's new disk came to life as the wing portion came out more and spread open like an unfolding wing as her duel disk finished preparing for the duel to come. "You guys are on!" She said excitedly a huge smirk on her face.
Moros smiled, "Awesome, you better prepare your selves cause we ain't going to be easy." He said confidently as he prepared to draw. "And now..."
"Its time to duel!" They all cried out simultaniously.
Suddenly, the area turned pitch black. The duelscape felt different, like something was wrong. The men's eyes flashed a light orange. Their Duel Disks ejected a single card each, they both yelled "Draw!" and fanned their card to reveal it was actually 5 cards.
Turn 1: Cecile Mysterious Men - 4000 LP - 10 cards Cécile and Moros - 4000 LP - 10 cards
Cécile looked around curiously at her surroundings. This was definitely not normal for duels. On top of that the guys that stood in front of herself and Moros had glowing eyes. Who the heck had glowing eyes? "Fine, I'll go first." Cécile said as she drew her hand and spread it while staring at the two mystery men.
Finally Cécile looked at her hand and smiled as she placed two cards face down and grabbed a third card. "First I'll place these two cards face down, and then I'll summon this," She placed a card somewhat dramatically on her duel disk. "My 'Blizzard Dragon' in attack mode." As she spoke the white dragon appeared in a gust of frosted wind. "And that's it for me." Cécile said while smirking.
The first man smirked. "Draw!" he shouted, pulling a card from his Duel Disk. "I play Black Whirlwind and set one facedown! Now I'll summon Blackwing - Bora The Spear in attack position! Then I'll activate Black Whirlwind to add Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow to my hand!" The tall bird-like creature materialized just infront of the man. "Now its your turn." the man looked at Moros.
Moros was also perplexed by his surrondings. This was certainly unusual, maybe these guys were like part of a TV show for street duels and they added cool special effects. And those eye glowies made it even more obvious. They were totally on TV right now, this was super cool, right after they got their fancy disks and everything. "Alright, I'll just Set a monster, then two more cards, and end my turn." Moros said professionally, sounding super serious for the cameras.
The second man looked down at his hand, "Well, we seem to be in quite the pickle, dont we?" He looked over at his comrade. "To start, I'll Summon Harpie Channeler. Then I'll use her effect to discard 1 Harpie card to Special Summon 1 Harpie monster from my Deck. Ill Summon my Harpie Dancer! Then I use Dancer's effect to return Harpie Channeler to my Hand and Special Summon "Harpie Lady 3". Now I use my 2 Wind Winged-Beast monsters, along with my partner's to XYZ Summon Harpie's Pet Phantasmal Dragon!"
Harpies Pet Phantasmal Dragon Atk 2000 Def 2500 3 Level 4 WIND monsters This card's effects can only be applied/resolved while it has Xyz Material. This card can attack your opponent directly. Your opponent cannot target any "Harpie" monsters with effects or for attacks. During each of your End Phases: Detach 1 Xyz Material from this card.
"Now Ill Detach one XYZ material from Phantasmal Dragon and end!" He glanced at Cecile.
"First I draw." Cécile started as she drew her card and looked at it out of the corner of her eye. "Next I'll Summon my Black Stone of Legend. Sadly it won't be here for long as I'll activate it's effect to sacrifice it and Special Summon 1 'Red-Eyes' monster from my Deck, and I'll choose "Red-Eyes Archfiend of Lightning!" Cécile smirked as her monster appeared in all of it's dramatic glory and then she shoved a card into her duel disk. "Next I'll play this handy card, "Card of Red Jewel". What I do is send this card," Cécile revealed her 'Red-Eyes Black Dragon' from hand and put it in the grave. "To the Graveyard, and now I draw two cards," she said as she did exactly as she said. "Now by doing this I activate one of my Traps: "Return of Red-Eyes". Since I have a 'Red-Eyes' monster on my Field, I can Special Summon my "Red-Eyes Black Dragon" to the field!" The great Black Dragon rose in all its glory and roared at the two mystery men. "Next I'll play "Swords of Revealing Light"! Which means you won't be able to attack us for three turns...and lastly I'll place one last card face down and end my turn..." Cécile smirked at the two men with confidence.
The first man drew again. He grunted as he looked at the card he drew. "First I Summon "Blackwing - Shura The Blue Flame". Then I use the effect of "Black Whirlwind" to add "Vayu, Emblem of Honor" to my Hand. Now I use "Darkworld Dealings" to have everyone draw one card and discard it. I discard Vayu." The man inserted the card into his Graveyard and drew a card from his Deck.
Moros grinned, it was like they knew what he wanted. He drew a card and grinned, good thing he had one in his hand, "For my discard I'll get rid of "Wightprince", and when he is sent to the Graveyard his effect activates. It lets me send 1 "Lady in Wight" and 1 "Skull Servant" to the grave with him." His king was already at 3000 ATK, thing were looking good so far.
Cécile drew her card happily and then through a Red-Eyes Black Dragon to the grave. "I hope you guys aren't going easy on us now," Cécile chided as she smirked at the pair.
The second man picked up a card and smirked, then put a Harpie Lady 3 in his grave. then the first man slid a single card into his duel disk without a word. He watched as the swords floating around his and his partners monsters shattered, uttering a single phrase, "Mystical Space Typhoon."
Cécile grinned as she thrust out her open hand. "I activate the trap known as "Magic Jammer"! This means by discarding one card from my hand," Which she slid in wihtout naming it.
"Ah, Ah, Ah, stop right there missy. I play my face-down as well. "Trap Stun"! This renders your "Magic Jammer" useless." He looked up at Cecile, then Moros, a menacing look in his eyes. He lifted a finger and pointed at Moros's facedown saying, "NOW! Shura, destroy that monster!"
Moros grinned, "Doubt it." he said snarkily as his face down monster was revealed to be his "Lady in Wight", who also boasted an impressive defensive 2200 DEF. The blue flames from the attack came to a screeching halt before the zombified royal and with a wave of her hand they were sent back. The man grunted as the flames engulfed him for a second.
Mysterious Men: 4000 LP --> 3600 LP
"Then I guess Ill have Harpies Pet Phantasmal Dragon attack you directly!" He looked at Cecile and grinned.
Moros drew a card unpleasently surprised by the sudden burst of damage. He hadn't thought the dragon would be able to attack directly, if it did the same thing next turn they would be out for the count. "Well now that wasn't very friendly now was it?" Moros inquired. Hmm he should say something dramatic for the show. Think think. Aha there it was. He cleared his throat importantly, now if he just knew where the camera was then he could look at it to make his next statment more impactful.
Oh well, "But I think you've gone far enough." He looked at his hand to buy time, now it would look stupid if he didn't do something cool and fast. Hmhm. If only he had that one Rageki card, then this would be an easy win. With that wierd Dragon's effect he couldn't attack it and with Lady in Wight sadly meant he couldn't use any equip cards. They would be safe for another turn unless his face down was destroyed, so he could nearly kill them then leave it to Cecile to finish it. That seemed best. "Short and simple for you fellers, I'll just Summon my 'King of Skull Servants' from my hand. With his 3000 ATK, he's more than a match for your monsters and he'll destroy your bird with just a wave of his hand!" Moros proclaimed as the majestic skeleton appeared standing atop the bodies of his fallen servants. The skeleton waved as his hand and a orb of pure darkness slowly wafted its way over to the blue bird and exploded with savage amount of force, part of the blast leaking through to damage his foe's LP. "Looks like your bird is just skin and bones, well now he's just bones," he said pleased with his quip.
Mysterious Men: 3600 LP --> 2400 LP
"With one more set card I think I'll end my turn," Moros said, hoping Cecile would be able to finish what he started. Not that he had really done that much. At all. Meh, Cecile was supposed to be super good or something, and now she could prove it.
The man drew his next card without speaking or looking at it. "Now, should we finish them, or toy with them for a bit?" He said, glancing at his partner. The larger, more brutish man replied with a nod, then looked back at the opponents. "First I activate my Spell: "Harpies' Grand Feather Duster". By sending one card from my Hand and the top of my Deck I can destroy all spell and trap cards. I discard Harpie Lady A and send the top card of my deck to the grave, which happens to be....." He pulled the card out, looked at it, and chuckled, "Harpie Lady B!"
"Contigency Plan!" Moros cried out stopping the play as it happened, "I may not be able to stop your card, but I can stop your monsters with the Trap card, 'Threatening Roar'! We don't have any facedowns but you don't have any attacks," Moros called out smugly
"Oh and to boot, by destroying my Return of Red-Eyes I get to Summon any Red-Eyes monster from my grave, and I think I'll choose my Red-Eyes Black Dragon!" Cécile spoke with excitement and confidence as her second Red-Eyes Black Dragon appeared and roared defiantly at the mysterious pair.
The man then looked at his hand. "Okay, now, watch closely." The man flashed the card in his hand quickly at Moros and Cecile, then slammed the card into the Duel Disk. "I set one card facedown, then use my partner's monster effect in the grave, allowing me to Synchro Summon Ally Of Justice Catastor to his side of the field. Now I end."
Cécile drew her card smiling contently. "First off I'll overlay my two Red-Eyes Black Dragons," The two Red-Eyes transformed into energy and floated up into the swirling galaxy above. "To create and Xyz Summon my Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon!" The giant beast crashed violently into the ground roaring defiantly shaking the ground beneath everyones feet, meanwhile Cécile's grin became sinister.
Moros grinned, with Cecile's awesome monster out the rest of this duel should be a cinch, with her field already loaded and with his king out they could probably end the duel this turn.
"I activate Hysteric Party!" The first man said. "I Summon my Harpie Lady A and B from the grave!"
"Then I activate Miracle Blackwing Phasing! While I control 3 Blackwing monsters or a Synchro monster that used a Blackwing monster as Material, I can activate this from my hand!" The second man said.
"I tap into the Phase Shift Fusion Network to Summon," The men chanted together, "Harpies' Pet Blackwing Dragon!" A huge dragon with red skin and black, feathery wings appeared on the second mans field. It let out a cry so loud that the entire Duelscape shook. The backdrop for the duel changed from pitch black to white with green and black slashes.
Harpies' Pet Blackwing Dragon - Phase A - 3700 ATK 200 DEF
The first man looked at Cecile, "Now, you probably thought you could attack, but our monster's effect says that if it is Phase Shift summoned sucessfully during our opponents turn using "Miracle Blackwing Phasing", no monsters can attack for the rest of the turn. And dont think about destroying it because once per turn, while it is in Phase A, It can negate the activation of a card effect and destroy that card." The smug look on both men's faces showed this dragon had more up it's sleeve too.
Cécile smirked. "Well let's see now, Flare Metal I believe they used that first card to Summon there little harpies, then another to do whatever the hell that was, oh and an ability activated that said we can't attack, so would you please take fifteen hundred of their life points away?" Cécile said in an innocent voice as her mighty Flare Dragon parted it's mouth and launched flames to take a chunck out of the opponents life points.
"Uhhh, well, ya see...... Like I just said, Harpies' Pet Blackwing Dragon can negate one effect per turn and destroy the card that used it, and I think 'Ill use it on your Flare Metal." said the first man, then the flames bounced back and engulfed Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon.
Cécile laughed a bit darkly. "God you two are so predictable!" Flare Metal more or less flexed and the flames broke as he roared in defiance. "See my Flare Metal's main ability is that it can't be destroyed by card effects while it has XYZ material on it. So while you may have protected yourself from damage, you wasted your one use! Now my Archfiend of Lightning can now Normal Summon to gain it's special ability!" As Cécile said this lightning began to strike arround the Archfiend of Lightning. "Which now I'll use, which means any of your monsters with less defense than my Archfiend's attack, is instantly destroyed!" The lightning gathered in the Archfiends mouth and then shot forth at the opponent's monsters.
"When Harpies Pet Blackwing Dragon is sent to the Graveyard, I can Synchro Summon a "Blackwing" monster using monsters from my deck as Material but that monster is banished when it leaves the field. I send Vayu, Emblem of Honor and Albrolhos the Megaquake to Synchro Summon 'Black-Winged Dragon'!" The second man said as the huge black dragon appeared over their Heads.
Cécile's eyes narrowed slightly. She knew full well what would happen next and the part that bit the most, she didn't have a choice. "Black Flare Dragon, inflict damage since he decided to activate yet another effect!"
"Well, I dont take that damage, because my dragon instead gains one Black Feather Counter and loses 700 ATK." Said the second man, the flames being absorbed into Black-Winged Dragon's mouth.
Cécile narrowed her eyes a bit as she looked at her last card. Then she looked back at everyone's fields. It finally occurred to her as she was trying to figure out what she could do that she recalled some of Moros' old matches. The Lady in Wight mixed with his King was a classic combo, and it might just be what they needed to beat these two, or at least peg them down another notch. "Now King of Skull Servants, attack their Black-Winged Dragon! Send it to the grave and remind him that I am the true master of dragons!" Finally Cécile set a card, a huge smirk on her face as she ended her turn as her opponents life points went down once more.
The first man quickly pulled another card from his duel disk. He looked down and threw the card facedown on his duel disk saying, "I set one monster and two facedowns, then I end."
Moros drew a card and looked at the field, right now they seemed to have an overwhleming advantage, those two would need some serious luck to get out of this. Moros pondered the best way to go about finishing this. Best to go about it as quickly as possible. This plan was risky, but if worse came to worse and he didn't work out they still had a fully loaded field. "I'll play the spell card Allure of Darkness. It allows me to draw two cards, then banish a dark monster from my hand." Moros grinned, he had been hoping to draw that, "Now i'll Banish my King of Skull Servants. Then bring him back to the field by discarding Wightmare, also increasing his attack to 4000." Moros said confidently as another king appeared and both of their atk points increased by 1000. "Now it's time for the Battle Phase, my original king will destroy your facedown mosnter with Revenge Blast!"
"You attacked "Blackwing - Mistral, the Silver Shield!" when Mistral is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard I can reduce the next battle damage I would take this turn to 0."
"Not that it matter, we still have enough damage to destroy you and you take 500 damage for Flare Metal Dragon's effect. Next up, Red-eyes Archfiend of Lighting destroy his defense!" The monsterous dragon roared and a bolt lightning was hurled at the two men, dissipaiting against the shield that protected them.
LP 1700-> LP1200
"When an opponent's monster declares a direct attack, I can activate my Trap: Blackwing - Bodyguard! I can Special Summon one Blackwing monster from my deck and negate the attack and my monster's effect!" The man put his hand by the deck in his Duel Disk, then one card shot out and the man pulled it out and layed it on the field in Defense position. "I Special Summon Blackwing - Hillen, the Tengu-Wind!"
"We still got plenty of fire power buddy, Flare Metal Dragon give them another 500 points of damage, then take care of his monster!"
LP 1200-> LP 700
"Aht, wait, I activate Jetstream, the Blue Sky's effect. When a Blackwing monster I control would be destroyed, I can discard him instead." The man reluctantly discarded the monster, seeing that this fight could not be won.
Giggling uncontrollably Cécile pointed at the individuals accross from her. "You two really aren't that bright. Now Flare Metal Dragon knock down their life points once more!" Once more the large dragon engulfed the foes in flames as Cécile continued giggling at the fools.
LP 700-> LP 200
Moros looked at them incrediously. That stalling was remarkable. Good thing Flare was out, or this might've actually been trouble some. "I'm surprised you manage to live this long, but I'm afraid you don't get much further at this point. King, eliminate his last monster." His skeletal monster obliged clearing it out. "You can't activate effects without losing the last of your LP, and you don't have any monsters left. There is always the option of conceding you know." He looked at Cecile somewhat nervously, he didn't like that whole evil laughing thing of hers, it was kind of creepy. "I'll set one card and leave it to you. See if you can do anything with what's left of your field."
"My partner may have given in, but I will never surrender! I DRAW! To start my turn, I activate Vayu's effect from the Grave! I Synchro Summon GRAM THE SHINING STAR, banishing my Vayu and my Bora! Then I chain Burial From a Different Dimension! Returning 3 Blackwing monsters that were banished to my Graveyard. Now I also chain my Quickplay Spell: Harpie's Skilled Sniping! I can target any number of Spells on the field and destroy them, banishing the same number of "Harpie" monsters from my deck as the number of Spells or Traps, then inflict 200 damage for each one to my opponent. I target each and every Spell and Trap on the field. Now I chain my last card: 'Blackwing - Final Wind', allowing me to banish any number of 'Blackwing' monsters from my Grave and deal 100 damage for each of the banished monsters."
Cécile lifted a single finger and laughed a bit more. "I believe you misinterpreted what I said earlier. As cute as your chain might be, well it's pointless." Cécile's uncontrollable giggle came back for a moment. "I hate to tell you but as soon as that first effect resolve my dragon will end this by whiping out your petty life points boys." Cécile pointed at the men with excessive dramatics. "So you still lose to my mighty dragons!" Cecile's monster gave one last titanic roar as another burst of flame was sent through the blistering winds to remove the last of her opponent's LPs.
The two duelists turned away immediatly making it into an alley and vanishing from sight. "Well that was wierd." Moros said as the strange landscape faded away. "But mostly awesome! High five!" Moros said excitedly as he turned to Cecile. He wondered where the camera man had gotten to, unless those two guys had cameras on them. To bad they left, he would've liked to ask what movie they were filming for, or maybe it was a series. Even better. He would probably never know now.
Cécile giggled cheerfully turning and high fiving Moros and then hugged him excitedly and happily. "We did it!" Cécile then quickly backed away a couple of steps smiling merrily as she looked at Moros. "I was worried that it would've go that well considering your deck wasn't built purposefully to go with mine, but we did it!" Cécile clearly had changed attitudes from when they had been in the duel, and clearly was overjoyed.
Alexander watched as Xavier made his challenge to him. A Duel. Well, they were Duelists, so it makes sense. Only by Dueling could anyone get anything done. There was only one option to take.
"Very well then," Alexander said as he put on his Duel Disk and activated it. "All of you will return to your dorm rooms when you're beaten, Xavier."
Turn 1: Alexander
Alexander: 4000 LP / 5 cards
Xavier: 4000 LP / 5 cards
"I'll start," Alexander began, drawing his first five cards. It wasn't the best hand, but he would deal with it.
"I play my Field Spell: 'Magical Citadel of Endymion'!" Alexander declared, the area around them transforming into the usual clearing with trees all around, and a giant citadel being circled with runes in the air. "Now I Summon my 'Apprentice Magician' in defense mode!" Alexander continued, the purple-robed blond adolescent appearing and crouching on the field.
Apprentice Magician - DEF 800
"When 'Apprentice Magician' is Summoned, I can place a 'Spell Counter' on my 'Citadel'," Alexander explained as a giant "1" appeared in front of the citadel. "I'll place one card face-down and end my turn," Alexander ended.
"Okay! Well, I guess I Summon my 'Spellsword's Underling' in Attack position!
Spellsword's Underling - ATK 1600
"When he is Summoned, I can Special Summon one 'Spellsword' monster from my hand with 1500 or less ATK; I think I'll choose my 'Spellsword of Warding' in DEF position."
Spellsword of Warding - DEF 2000
"Now to conclude my turn, I set 2 face-downs." Xavier said, inserting the two cards into his duel disk. Having dueled Alex before, he knew to be cautious and keep himself well guarded.
"Draw," Alexander said, drawing his next card. "I summon 'Breaker, the Magical Warrior' in Attack mode!" A red-armored swordsman appeared next to his 'Apprentice Magician', ready to do battle.
Breaker, the Magical Warrior - ATK 1600
"When 'Breaker' is Normal Summoned, he gains a 'Spell Counter', and 300 ATK from it," Alexander explained as a black orb appeared, revolving around 'Breaker's' sword.
Breaker, the Magical Warrior - ATK 1600 --> ATK 1900
"Now I activate 'Breaker's' effect!" Alexander declared. "By removing one 'Spell Counter' from him, I can destroy one Spell or Trap card on the field, and I choose that one!" Alexander pointed at Xavier's card on Alexander's right, and 'Breaker' fired a black lightning bolt from his sword, aimed directly for that card. The card flipped up, revealing that it was 'Flash Mana' just before bursting into white shards. Xavier was glad that that was the card chosen, had Alex chosen the other, things would have gone poorly.
"Now I activate my Spell Card: 'Spellbook of Power'!" Alexander declared, an orange glowing book appearing in front of 'Breaker'. "With this card, I can give one of my Spellcaster-type monsters 1000 ATK."
Breaker, the Magical Warrior - ATK 1600 --> ATK 2600
"When a Spell card is activated, my 'Magical Citadel' gains another 'Spell Counter' when that Spell card resolves," Alexander explained, the giant "1" transforming into a "2". "Now, 'Breaker', attack his 'Spellsword's Underling'!" Alexander commanded, and 'Breaker' complied, charging to deliver a piercing strike. Just as the sword came near the swordsman that stood before Xavier, a sword appeared in the target's hands. "Not so fast! I activate 'Spellsword's Concealed Blade'. When an opponent's monster declares an attack, I can activate this trap and equip it to one 'Spellsword' monster I control. It gains 500 ATK and cant be destroyed for the rest of this turn." Xavier had never been this serious about a duel, that he could remember.
Xavier: 4000 LP --> 3500 LP
Alexander thought hard about what to do after the attack didn't destroy his opponent's monster. In the end, Alexander ended with, "I place one card face-down and end my turn. 'Breaker' also loses the effects of 'Spellbook of Power' at the End Phase."
Breaker, the Magical Warrior - ATK 2600 --> ATK 1600
"Okay, I draw. Now we can really get going!" Xavier said, pulling one card from his duel disk dramatically. "I activate my Field Spell: 'Spellsword's Arena'! Then I Summon 'Spellsword's Apprentice' in ATK mode, allowing me to banish all Spell cards from my deck and hand." While Xavier said this, his half of the Field transformed into a gigantic colosseum style arena and the usual hooded squire appeared next to the two larger swordsmen.
Xavier: 3500 LP --> 2500 LP
"Oh, and did I mention that when any number of Spell cards are banished and Arena is on the field, I can place one 'Mana Counter' on all cards I control, totalling to 4 'Mana Counters'?" All of Xavier's monsters began to have a slight glow. "Now, thanks to 'Arena', 'Underling' has 2300 ATK. I think I'll have him attack your 'Breaker'." The swordsman lunged forward with the blade that he obtained from Spellsword's Concealed Blade, Slashing at the warrior before him.
Alexander was not about to lose his monsters so easily. "I activate my Trap Card: 'Mirror Force'!" Alexander countered, a transparent wall separating Xavier's monsters from his. "When you declare an attack, all your Attack Position monsters are destroyed!" As 'Underling' collided with the wall, he and 'Apprentice' shattered into shards of light, their glow forming an outline of them and moving to be on the outside of the colosseum. "Well, when one of my monsters having a Mana Counter is destroyed, its Mana Counter is transfered to Arena." Xavier said, disappointed at the overused trap Alex played. "Well, on that note, I set 1 card face-down and end."
"Draw," Alexander said, drawing his next card. Alexander knew 'Breaker' didn't have enough ATK points to break through 'Spellsword of Warding', so there wasn't much he could do this turn. However, he could still do something. "I activate 'Breaker's' effect once more, allowing me to destroy a Spell or Trap card at the cost of one 'Spell Counter'," Alexander said. "Since 'Breaker' himself doesn't have any 'Spell Counters', I can use one from my 'Magical Citadel' instead, and the card I choose to destroy is your 'Spellsword's Arena'!" The giant "3" on the 'Citadel' reverted back into a "2", and 'Breaker' fired another black lightning bolt from his sword, aimed at the colosseum.
As the lightning connected, the colosseum around Xavier crumbled and converted into the forest of "Citadel". Behind Xavier, the spirits left behind from his monster's 'Mana Counters' faded.
After the deed was done, Alexander ended with, "Turn End."
Xavier silently drew a single card. Things were looking grim, and his draw didn't help much. Xavier did a double take at the card he held, then looked up at Alex's field. On second thought, this was just what he needed! "I Summon 'Spellsword's Grand Master' in Attack position!"
Spellsword's Grand Master - 1800 ATK
Alex had seen this before, so Xavier wondered if he had planned for it. Anyway, he shouldn't worry now, he had an opportunity. "I activate 'Grand Master's effect! He allows me to remove one Mana Counter from anywhere on the field and add one spell of my choice from my banished pile to my hand. I add 'Spellsword's Grand Blade' and equip it to him."
Spellsword's Grand Master - 1800 ATK --> 2800 ATK
"Now, I think I'll have 'Grand Master' attack 'Breaker' and deal 1200 points of damage." Xavier said, hoping for the best.
'Breaker' merely stepped back and tried to defend as 'Grand Master' rushed forward and slashed, destroying 'Breaker' with ease.
Alexander: 4000 LP --> 2800 LP
"Now I end!" Xavier said, the smug grin returning to his face.
"Draw!" Xavier said as he pulled a card from his deck. This was perfect. "I activate 'Spellsword Channeler's' effect from my hand. I can discard her to place a 'Mana Counter' on each 'Spellsword' monster I control." While he said this, the air around his monsters began to have a slight glow. "Now I activate 'Grand Master's' effect, removing his Mana Counter to add 'Ketisu - Flaming Blade of the Spellswords' and equip it to my 'Grand Master'." In 'Grand Master's' left hand appeared a long katana with bright red flames along it. "Now, I'll have him destroy your 'Magician's Apprentice'! And since he is equipped with 'Ketisu' he deals piercing damage."
Alexander wasn't quite willing to be dealt that much damage just yet. "I activate my Trap card: 'Scrap-Iron Scarecrow'!" Alexander countered. "This card negates your monster's attack, then I can reset my card back face-down." A metal scarecrow appeared in front of 'Apprentice Magician', creating an invisible barrier that 'Grand Master' struck before both returned to their respective positions.
Xavier let out a small, satisfied grunt, signifying that he ended his turn.
"Draw," Alexander said, taking his next card. Upon close examination of his cards, he got an idea of what to do. "I Summon the Tuner monster 'Arcane Apprentice' in Defense position!" Alexander declared, the brown-and-blue robed creature appearing, brandishing its staff before holding it in front of him as if to defend itself.
Arcane Apprentice - DEF 1000
"Now I play the Spell card: 'Instant Fusion'! By paying 1000 Life Points, I can Special Summon a Level 5 or lower Fusion monster from my Extra Deck! Come out, 'Musician King'!" Alexander said, a spiky-haired blonde guitarist appearing.
Alexander: LP 2800 --> LP 1800
Musician King - DEF 1500
With his two monsters in play, Alexander could call out his ace monster. "I Tune my Level 5 'Musician King' with my Level 2 'Arcane Apprentice'!" Alexander declared, the two monsters transforming into 5 stars and 2 green rings, respectively. As the stars lined up between the rings, Alexander chanted, "Wielder of sealed arcane forces! Use our power and destroy all who oppose us! Synchro Summon! Appear, Level 7! 'Arcanite Magician'!" A white-robed mage appeared from the rings and stars, holding a green staff in one hand.
Arcanite Magician - ATK 400
"When 'Arcanite Magician' is successfuly Synchro Summoned, I can add two 'Spell Counters' to him, and he gains 1000 ATK for each one!" Alexander explained as two dark orbs appeared 'Arcanite Magician', revolving around the head of his staff.
Arcanite Magician - ATK 400 --> ATK 2400
"When 'Arcane Apprentice' is sent to the Graveyard for a Synchro Summon, I can add one 'Assault Mode Activate' from my deck to my hand!" Alexander said, adding the card that ejected itself from his deck into his hand. "Now I use 'Arcanite Magician's' effect! By removing one Spell Counter from anywhere on my field, I can target one card my opponent controls and destroy it!" Alexander declared. "'Arcanite Magician', destroy 'Spellsword's Grand Master'!" The giant "5" on 'Citadel' transformed into a "4", and 'Arcanite Magician' fired a bolt of black lightning from his staff, targeted at 'Grand Master'.
A huge cloud of smoke surrounded 'Grand Master', completely hiding the result of Alex's effect. When the cloud cleared, it could be seen that 'Grand Master' was still there, standing as resolute as ever, but unlike before he held only the Buster Blade style sword known as 'Grand Blade'. "When a monster equipped with Ketisu would be destroyed, Ketisu is destroyed instead." Xavier looked at Alex and mockingly pretended to lift a staff.
"'Arcanite Magician', fire another one!" Alexander commanded, 'Arcanite Magician' using up another 'Spell Counter' from 'Citadel' and firing a dark lightning bolt at 'Grand Master' once more.
"Well, I didn't want to do this, but you leave me no choice...... I activate the effect of 'Titrian - Spellsword's Trainer' in my hand. If an opponent's card effect would destroy a 'Spellsword' monster, I can banish him face down and shuffle my Banished Pile to destroy that card and negate its effect. But, I need to pay 1000 Life Points to do so."
Xavier - 2500 LP --> 1500 LP
Alexander grimaced as his monster was destroyed. Now he couldn't even attack. The question was where to go from here. After a split second thought, Alexander merely said, "Turn End."
"Draw!" Xavier said, the smug smirk still sitting on his face. He had the advantage. "First, I activate 'Grand Master's' effect to remove 'Warding's' Mana Counter to add 'Mystical Space Typhoon' to my hand." This may have been risky but it was what he had to do. "Then I activate it on your 'Scrap-Iron Scarecrow'!"
Alexander did not respond when his Trap card was destroyed. It was bound to get removed eventually, anyway.
"Now, I Summon 'Deklin - Leader of the Spellswords', and when he is Summoned, I get another 'Mana Counter' on all my 'Spellsword' monsters." The 3 cloaked swordsmen began to glow once again.
Deklin - Leader of the Spellswords - 1350 ATK
"Now I use his effect to remove one Mana Counter from him and shuffle my banished pile, return it face-down, and draw the top card of it." The glow around Deklin disappeared and a card popped out of Xavier's duel disk. "Well, I wont need this, but overkill is better than underkill, right? I equip 'Grand Master' with my second 'Ketisu' and have 'Deklin' attack your 'Apprentice'!"
Alexander shielded himself from the force of the impact when 'Apprentice Magician' was destroyed. After the force subsided, Alexander said, "I activate the effect of my 'Apprentice Magician'! When it is destroyed by battle, I can Special Summon a Level 2 or lower Spellcaster-type monster from my deck in face-down defense mode." A face-down monster was quick to take the place of 'Apprentice Magician' after it was destroyed.
"Now, 'Grand Master', Attack his face-down!" The swordsman rushed forward and struck the facedown with both his swords.
Alexander couldn't take that hit without losing, so he countered, "I activate my Quick Play Spell Card: 'Spellbook of Wisdom', targeting your 'Spellsword's Grand Master' and forcing it to be unaffected by other Spell cards!" Alexander again braced himself for the force of the impact as his face-down monster was destroyed. An image of 'Apprentice Magician' screaming in pain appeared for a brief moment before disappearing. "That was my second 'Apprentice Magician'," Alexander said. "And I can use the same effect to Special Summon another Level 2 or lower Spellcaster-type monster in face-down defense mode." Another face-down card appeared, quickly taking the place of the last.
The customary, "I end." resounded from Xavier's lips.
Alexander drew his next card, hoping for it to be 'The Tricky'. Sadly, it wasn't, but it was still something he could use: 'Defender, the Magical Knight'. That, combined with his face-down 'Arcane Apprentice', would be enough to Synchro Summon 'Tempest Magician', then use its effect to burn away the last of Xavier's Life Points. As he was about to do so, however, he gave it some thought. Did he really want to do this? He had to admit, he was curious about the missing girl, and this was a golden opportunity to take for that. At the same time, this would go against the school's warning. Alexander finally decided to let Xavier win, but still make it look like he was putting up a fight. "I Summon 'Defender, the Magical Knight' in Defense mode!" Alexander said, the heavily armored warrior appearing on the field, crouching behind his tower shield.
Defender, the Magical Knight - DEF 2000
"Now I reveal my Set monster to be 'Arcane Apprentice' and then Tune my Level 2 'Arcane Apprentice' with my Level 4 'Defender'!" Alexander declared, the two monsters transforming into their respective green rings and stars. "Level 6, 'Explosive Magician'!" The white-clad mage appeared on the field, sparks and crackling electricity going off around him. "Now I activate 'Explosive Magician's' effect! By removing 2 Spell Counters from my side of the field, I can destroy a Spell or Trap card my opponent controls. By removing 4 Spell Counters, I can use his effect twice and destroy both equip spells on 'Spellsword's Grand Master'!" 'Explosive Magician' built up some crackling energy in his hands, then released 2 bolts of white lightning, targeting the swords 'Grand Master' was wielding.
As the bolt connected, Xavier let out a gasp. There was nothing to protect his powerhouse now.
"Now, 'Explosive Magician', attack his 'Spellsword's Grand Master!" Alexander commanded. 'Explosive Magician' then focused more cracking energy into his hands, and released another bolt of white lightning at 'Grand Master'.
Xavier braced himself for the attack, would this be the second time that Alex could beat him so easily? No, he had to give his best, no matter what. Not just for himself but so the others could go too.
Xavier: 1500 LP --> 800 LP
After the attack was done, Alexander merely said, "Turn End."
"Draw!" Xavier recited, not missing a beat as he pulled a card from his deck. He almost laughed when he looked at the card he drew. How ironic that he gets this just after 'Grand Master' was destroyed. "I summon 'Spellsword Of The Light' in attack position. When he is summoned, I can shuffle my banished Pile, return it face-down and draw the same number of cards as my opponent has monsters from it." He drew a dud card but one that would let him get another. "I activate 'Spellsword's Greed' allowing me to repeat that process."
"Here we go! I activate 'Spellsword's Training Grounds' having all my 'Spellsword' monsters gain 100 ATK. Then I Overlay 'Deklin' and 'Warding' to Xyz Summon 'Downerd Magician'. She gains 200 ATK for each Overlay Unit attached to her, meaning she has 2500, just enough to plow through your 'Explosive Magician'. Now, attack!" The slightly insane looking magician seemed to raise her hand and shoot small bolts of lightning from her finger tips, in the end, slaying both her target and herself. "Now 'Light', DEAL THE FINAL BLOW!" The white cloaked swordsman drew his blade and brought it down on Alex, reducing his Life Points to zero.
Alexander: LP 1800 --> LP 0
And so the Duel ended. Alexander sighed, his face revealing a small smile before resuming his calm and collected demeanor. "As promised, I'll join you," Alexander said.
"ALEX! HOW COULD YOU LOSE SO EASILY!!??" said a rather loud and shocking familiar female voice. Alexander slowly turned around to see Megumi, who had her arms crossed and her foot tapping disapproving on the ground.
"Megumi, I thought I told you to stay in your dorm room," Alexander said.
"Oh no, not after seeing the entire Duel," Megumi responded. "And why didn't you Summon 'Tempest Magician' instead of 'Explosive Magician'? You could have beaten him easily with that."
"Oh, yes, I, uh, must've forgot," Alexander replied, looking away.
"Liar! You never forgot that at all!" Megumi said. "And you're taking me with you."
"Woah, there, that's a bit-" Alexander said at first before seeing Megumi's expression deepen. Alexander sighed in defeat and said, "Alright, fine." This resulted in a triumphant smile appearing on her face.
Yet again, Xavier's head was spinning. Then later on into the conversation he realized that Alex LET him win. That was fine, seeing the pretense the duel was under, but one day, Xavier wanted a fair chance to beat Alex.
"Oh, uh, yeah. Let's." Daemon followed after Adrien, looking all around the place as the two walked. The slightly older of the two mentioned something about suggestions for Daemon's deck. This gave the boy a sheepish look, and a scratch behind the head in reply. "Aha... You noticed the theme, huh? I'm pretty confident in my deck, but some of the cards in there don't really work with it. Placeholders, really... Not all that rich." Daemon's smile faded as soon as it came, him taking out a single card from the deckholder on his belt. His Berserk Dragon. The green-eyed one of the two silently stared at it for not much longer than a minute, then returned it to the spot it came from. "Let's hear them later, though. We've got a student to find!" ...Although really, they had no idea WHO went missing, do they?
Yuji, Yuna, and Jin looked at the closed door that led into the warehouse. Jin tried to turn the handle, but it wouldn't budge. Of course, it'd be locked. "All right, door's locked, let's go back," Yuji said.
"Come on, Yuji-kun, it's just a locked door," Jin replied. "I'm sure there's a way around it."
"Over there," Yuna said, going up some stairs that led to a second floor. Upon reaching it, Yuna found another door that was left ajar. With Yuji and Jin following, Yuna went over to the door and pulled it open. Inside the large room they found a man looking through a deck, seeming trying to look for something, while a girl nearby seemed scared, which was understandable since she was tied to a chair with her hands behind her back and her mouth taped. The man looked up, surprised to hear the creaking of the door Yuna opened, and even more surprised to see Yuna herself.
"What?" the man said, looking back and forth between Yuna and the girl, who did seem to have a remarkable, but not completely exact, similarity. "Dammit, I must've grabbed the wrong girl," the man said, putting down the deck he was looking through onto a nearby table.
Yuna, as well as Yuji and Jin, was surprised to hear this. "Wrong girl? He was looking for me?" Yuna thought. "Who are you?" Yuna asked the man.
"The one who'll bring you down once and for all!" the man roared, activating his Duel Disk.
Yuji and Jin tried to move forward, but Yuna raised a hand, gesturing them back. "He's mine," Yuna said, her voice sounding completely serious as she activated her Duel Disk. The two boys were hesitant at first, then Jin placed a hand on Yuji's shoulder and said, "We'll be rooting for ya, Yuna!"
Moros grinned happily and gave a sigh of contentment, today was going great, they got new duel disks, and whats more and gotten into a super fun duel right afterwards. It was really weird how Cecile had been acting during the duel, but it looked like she was back to normal now. "Well that was fun, now we can get to the rest of our day. Though didn't we start out looking for that one missing girl? I guess we should probably get back on that." he said somewhat sheepishly. They had gotten a little sidetracked, but then again Cecile did say they were just here to enjoy the day. Well he had enjoyed it, especially the hug, but now it was time to get back on task. "Although this was a lot of fun, I wouldn't mind doing this again sometime." Moros said cheerfully. Where to start looking though, he still didn't even know where they were much less how to find 1 person in this place. Maybe they should just keep having fun, odds were the missing person had just fallen asleep somewhere she wasn't supposed to right?
Both of the boys that had dueled earlier were keeping their eyes peeled. They'd left the skate park they were in and headed for the streets and back alleys, hoping to find something there. No results came out of that, though. They'd split up for a few minutes to search things individually and met up at the same point they left. Adrien had already filled in the slightly younger of the pair. The school wouldn't make a fuss over someone just skipping, something had to have happened to them. After double checking with each other that yes, in fact, nobody of importance was here, both boys brainstormed for locations they could still search. The main city district was already being occupied by Moros and Cécile, Adrien informed Daemon. The latter of those two had dragged the former and it was the only feasible location they could be at.
The next idea was the park. Such a public place seemed unlikely, but it was something neither of them had searched. Both settled on that one and took off for it. Once their they decided to split up and search again, meeting back at the entrance within two minutes. And so it happened. It was time to share their discoveries. Daemon decided to take up the initiative: "Sorry, man. I came up with nothing. Checked the entire right side and even some areas outside but nowhere could I recognize someone from school. You found anything?"
"I'll go first," Yuna said, drawing her first five cards. As she looked at them, she realized how familiar, yet unfamiliar, they seemed. Nevertheless, she wasn't going to back down. "I Summon 'Azure Flame Warrior' in Attack mode!" Yuna declared, the monster appearing on the field.
Azure Flame Warrior - Level 4, ATK 1700
"When 'Azure Flame Warrior' is Normal Summoned, I can add one A or B 'Azure Flame' shift monster from my Deck to my hand," Yuna explained, adding the ejected card to her hand. "Now I place two cards face-down and end my turn."
The man picked up the first card off the top of his deck and uttered the usual, "Draw." Then he looked at his hand for a second, strategizing. Finally, he pulled one card out and said, "I activate my Spell: 'Call of the Dark Demons'! This card allows me to Special Summon one 'Dark Demon' monster from my hand by discarding one card from my hand. I Summon 'Karn - Dark Demon of Gluttony'!" the man said, sliding one card from his hand to the Grave.
Karn - Dark Demon of Gluttony - Level 5, ATK 1700
"Now, all 'Dark Demon' monsters have an effect both when they are Summoned, and when they are sent to the Grave. First, the effect of 'Karn' activates, allowing me to add one 'Dark Demon' card from my Deck to my hand. I add 'Arina - Dark Demon of Lust'. Now the effect of 'Faer - Dark Demon of Greed' activates, allowing me to draw one card." The man grabbed the two cards that ejected from his deck simultaniously and looked at them for a minute. After his examination was complete, he said, "I set 2 cards face-down and end."
"Draw!" Yuna said, drawing her next card. "I Tribute 'Azure Flame Warrior' to Summon 'Azure Flame Captain'!" The warrior disappeared in a flash of light, and another took its place.
Azure Flame Captain - Level 5, ATK 2200, Phase B
"When 'Azure Flame Captain' is Tribute Summoned by tributing an 'Azure Flame' monster, I can Special Summon one 'Azure Flame' monster from my hand or Graveyard!" Yuna explained. "Return, 'Azure Flame Warrior!" The monster that had been tributed appeared on the field once more, standing next to 'Captain'
Azure Flame Warrior - Level 4, ATK 1700
"Now I play the Continuous Spell card: 'Blue Burn'!" Yuna said, the Spell appearing on the field. "If any 'Azure Flame' monster is destroyed by battle or card effect, you take 300 points of damage!"
"Battle! 'Azure Flame Captain', attack his 'Karn - Dark Demon of Gluttony'!" Yuna commanded, 'Captain' rushing forward to slice up the demon with his twin blades.
"I activate my face-down! 'Compulsory Evacuation Device'!" The warrior dissipated into a ball of light, then manifested itself as a card in Yuna's hand.
Yuna scowled as the card returned to her hand. 'Warrior' didn't have the ATK to destroy 'Karn' without destroying itself, so she merely said, "Turn End."
Adrien thought back on his search. He had seen anything in the immediate area, but he had thought he'd seen some of people that looked like they were from the school. "I think I might have seen a group enter a warehouse, but other than that I'm not so sure, so let's just go see what they've discovered so far, yeah?" It was all Adrien had to offer at this point. With this Adrien once more turned and began walking in the direction he'd come from to meet with Daemon. Too bad this whole mess was going on. It was the first day since he and Cécile had returned from France.
Meanwhile somewhere in town Cécile and Moros had finished up with their fun it would seem. While still giggling cheerfully Cécile nodded as she smiled at Moros. "Agreed, how about," Cécile paused thinking of when another good day to do this would be. "Well actually let's just wing it for when we do it next, now come on!" Cécile quickly grabbed Moros by the hand this time and dragged him once more, a routine that Moros would hopefully get used to soon. As for where they were heading? Who knew, she was just dragging him around.
Adrien had seen a group from school? Daemon crossed his arms, pondering for a bit with his eyes closed. "...Huh. Must be the guys I ditched earlier... Considering the duel took a bit of time..." The laze was mumbling to himself, going off on a tangent. When he opened his eyes again, the guy was met with nobody having bothered to stick around. Seemed like his partner in crime had booked it for the earlier mentioned spot. "..." It took Daemon a few moments to realize, then bolted off chasing Adrien. "H-Hey! At least make sure the other guy's following!" They called out from behind.
They had both made it to the warehouse, the younger of the two taking in the sight. " *Whistle*, This place is just asking to be searched, isn't it? Lemme see if I can..." Daemon reached for the door handle but stopped midway. He'd heard something shattering, not unlike a monster exploding in a duel and tried tracking where the sound came from. "...D'ya hear that?" The green eyed boy turned to his companion, a questioning look on his face.
Moros shrugged when Cecile grabbed his hand again, it seemed it was going to have to get used to this, not that he minded really. So far it had turned out well. As they ran throughout the streets with Moros more idly looking around then paying attention to anything in particular he could've sworn that he saw Adrien. "Hey, lets go this way instead." Moros said quickly and darted off in the direction that he had seen Adrien go reversing their roles. After a bit of questing he found Adrien with another kid in front of some creepy warehouse, "Hey guys, you looking for that missing girl as well?" He inquired.
Xavier couldn't make out the details, but his group left the academy shortly after the duel. Minutes later they were in the warehouse they were in now, along with all the other students of the academy. Most of the faces were unfamiliar to Xavier but he could recognize Moros as well as the kid who ditched them earlier. Before them a duel was unfolding between a girl and a man who felt strangely familiar to Xavier. The deck the man used was also familiar, so much so he predicted a few of the moves the man made. It was strange but Xavier felt like he had met this man before. He looked over at Alexander and said, "The man dueling, he seems familiar. Is he well known?" the puzzled expression on Xavier's face showed exactly what he was thinking.
"Don't you kids have school or something?" A voice asked Cecile, Moros, Adrien, and Daemon. The man from earlier was walking towards them, his bag slung over his shoulder and a slightly curious expression on his face. He stopped short of the group and examined them, his gaze stopping on Cecile. He raised a hand and pointed at her."Aren't you that stuck up newbie from earlier? That one is a fascination with Red-Eyes? You should definitely be in school. Builds character, something you seem to be in desperate need of."
Looking away and towards the sky, he muttered something before turning back to Cecile. "Anyway, you know where to find some decent duelist girl? You know, ones that are actually good?"
Moros very nearly got a frown at the presumptuous guy that walked up to them. "That's no way to talk to someone you've hardly meet. I bet you'd make a lot more friends if you weren't so mean. Or maybe that is why you're so mean. Besides, we were actually trying to do something helpful, not walk around bugging people. Besides shouldn't you be in school as well?" Moros asked specifically. "I bet Cecile is a better duelist than you anyway." he said dismissively and turned back to watching the interesting duel in progress. To his surprise he didn't recognize hardly any of the cards that were being used, and Moros tended to remember any card once he saw it. Weird, they must be using some new decks.
Daemon didn't feel patient enough to wait on Adrien's answer. From a little while away two other kids seemed to approach, though it didn't concern the boy much. He first tried to rattle the handle to no avail. "Damn... Locked..." They shot a few looks around before noticing a stairwell. Come to think of it, those sounds did come from higher up didn't they? "Up there." The brunette darted over to the stairs, noticing the door wide open. His entrance was more than unceremonious, to say the least. He recognized one of the three kids in there, although only by name and face. Yuji. They seemed to be a pretty big hotshot around these parts. There was a girl dueling another guy, but before Daemon could ask anymore he got shoved aside and nearly tumbled onto his face as the others barged in. Some new faces, too, actually. Well, not really new as Daemon had ditched them earlier. "H-Hey guys..." He said a bit nervously. Hopefully they didn't take that one too harshly.
At that moment, Joshua barged in and started causing a ruckus to another girl who'd been approaching Adrien and the other boy earlier, her friend cut into it midway though. This wasn't the time for fighting though... There was a girl in the back of the room tied to a chair... And they looked so similar to the one dueling... Were they sisters? ...Wait, that must be the missing student. Explains a lot. "Guess we found them." Daemon said nonchalantly, almost bored. Strange how he wasn't panicked in the least. "Going to go call in authorities. Have fun, guys." He seemed to be the only reasonable person and started to walk towards the door again, going to try and find a pay phone to call the cops with.
While watching the Duel progress, Yuji and Run heard footsteps behind them. They turned around to see other students from their school appearing. "How did you all get here?" Yuji asked.
"Mostly luck, really," Alexander replied. Alexander looked past the two to see a girl and a man Dueling, as well as another girl tied to a chair. In response to Xavier's question, Alexander said, "I've never seen this man before, but looking at the details here, I think it's safe to assume that our mysterious stranger kidnapped our famous missing student, and things are now being decided through a Duel."
"Yeah, you've pretty much hit the nail on the head there," Jin said. "Yuna's got things under control, though." As if on cue, a blue fireball struck the man and dealt damage to his Life Points.
Megumi interjected, "I don't really get what's going on, but what I do know is that all these cards in this Duel are completely new to me." Alexander took a closer look at the Duel and realized that Megumi was right; he didn't recognize a single card being used in the Duel. The mysterious kidnapper was one thing, but Yuna's cards were also enigmas. He has plenty of questions he wanted to ask, but he knew that they would have to wait until the Duel was over. He didn't want to ruin Yuna's concentration, after all.
So the fool from before who had a loud bark and most likely no bite barged in and blew more hot air at Cécile. Naturally Cécile giggled when Moros flat out told the guy that she was better, which was most likely true given the standing records in the known area. Once Moros dismissed the guy Cécile turned back to the duel still smirking then decided to say one thing to the guy and turned her head her smirk ever growing.
"It's okay dude. Every new puppy needs to be trained to respect their betters. I'm sure you'll learn real fast who the top ones around here are, and you'll find you aren't one of us." Cécile brushed some hair out of eye before continuing. "And don't worry. It's very understandable that you can't stand seeing someone younger than you being out of your league. Once more Cécile giggled and stared down the newbie.
On another note Adrien had analyzed the duel in front of them so far and found the whole thing very intriguing. The cards were definitely unique, and that was always entertaining. Then not terribly by surprise Daemon wanted to leave and get the authorities. Honestly that would probably be the simple solution, but what would eb gained? So once more Adrien decided to intercept Daemon by walking in front of him and holding up a single finger and swaying it from side to side as if saying no as he looked into Daemons eyes to let him see the seriousness inside of his own.
"How one duels says a lot about them. I know enough about her from watching her to know she's not worth my time. As for my ability to make friends, I am perfectly capable of making them. I'm just picky about them." Joshua said before looking over at Daemon and Adrien. Turning away from Cecile and Moros, he walked over to the other two. Looking down at Adrien, he frowned before glancing over at the duel. Seemed like a hostage scenario, now that he looked at it properly. Glancing back at the other two boys, he spoke again."If one of you is heading to get the authorities, get going. If this goes downhill, there's really nothing we can do. So someone go and get them while we still have a chance. A duel is not worth the possibility of harm."
Looking back at the duel, his expression grew serious. I'm not entirely sure of the situation, but if this goes downhill, catching that guy should be the least of our priorities. It should be rescuing the girl. Hell, it would be in our best interest to do that now but I don't know is there's some kind of threat to the girl if we get too close. So the only option is to let this play out for now. he thought to himself.
Daemon headed for the door, but to nobody's surprise, someone blocked the way. Probably to everyone's surprise it was actually Adrien who did it. The boy had figured if anyone had tried to stop him it wouldn't be the serious top-dog of this group, it seemed like everyone else was much more excited for this duel than him. Behind the brown haired boy the new guy who'd been rude to the others spoke up, Daemon frowning in response. "I WOULD go get the authorities, but there's someone blocking the way. Unless you're willing to help out, I don't see myself leaving this room as I can't be asked to bother."
He took a few steps back from Adrien and turned focus back to the duel. The girl that was dueling caught the laze's attention, barring the strange cards she was using, she seemed troubled. Very much so. And he wasn't entirely convinced the duel was going in her favor either, the other guy seemed to be using a form of counter deck... "...setting up..." Daemon started mumbling something below his breath, trying to figure out the strategy behind the other guy's deck. "Wait... Could it...?"
