One of my friends and members of the RP I ran just contacted me over Steam saying he hasn't been able to log into the site. He claims that when he hits the "log-in" button it re-directs him to the guild's index. Even from the homepage it basically reloads the page with no log-in screen appearing for him to log-in through.

I'd try to investigate it on my end if I wasn't afraid of being locked out. I told him to try on an alternate browser though to see if it wasn't a wacky error on that one's end.

EDIT - confirmed from him that it was the browser he was using. Safari was the browser at issue, but using anything but that I assume will let him in.

@Mahz yo! I was wondering if we'd be able to see the different PM Conversations we have with people when we go to their profile? We used to be able to but now we can't? Is it possible for that to come back since it'd be embarrassing to keep PM'ing people who you've since then decided you DON'T work well together and have just forgotten about. And it's also taxing to scroll through your own old PMs to double check you're not turning into a stalker, instead of just a human makin' human error. ^^;

Is it possible to mod BBcode? if so, could one add a [/all] tag to terminate a large number of open tags at once?

@Genkai That would be one way that could work.

We think another tool that has been suggested sometime is the organizing of PMs, perhaps into folders or through tags or such. With this, you could literally group those "undesirables" into one folder/tag, so its easy to find who you don't work well with.

Pretty sure that isn't something that would work, due to how the BBcode triggers work, but we could be wrong. Someone with more coding experience can confirm/deny this.

shame, would be useful when you're trying to juggle a bunch of hiders when working outside of the guild reply boxes, i know at least a few people use things like word or google docs for writing things out

@Phantomlink959The preview button will tell you if there is an error in the code. If there is one, go back to the document or whatever you had it in while it was being composed. Then use its built-in search function to search for individual tags. Once you find one where the number of openers and closers don't add up, you have your culprit. If its a particularly long post, split it into sections and check those.

I can handle BBcode quite well, and i know how preview works, i just sometimes have random issues with not being able to find where my tags aren't lining up correctly even after gong through it a dozen times.

We've had those occasions too, @Phantomlink959.

But pretty sure a [/all] tag wouldn't work.

We do think there are plans to expand the preview system to point out actual erroneous code, but its not gotten to that stage yet.

@Mahz, the visitor message system is a bit funny. The 300-character limit seems to be restricted to a bit under 300, and on the reply to a VM field, it claims to have a max of 3000 characters, while actually having the same sub-300 limit as a new VM has.

I have seen close all tags tag on other forums. As well as some that autoclose open tags upon posting.

While theoretically possible, it isn't necessarily the simplest feature to implement. You'd have to define the [/all] function to span each tag, and provide the proper closer for each function. It would be easier to implement a [/wildcard] that closes the last function, regardless of what it is, but both are equally possible to code.

Hey, is there any plans to use the OldGuild's post color thing, where you could substitute the 3hdg6h(example) part with actual color names, like Peru, Wheat, etc.

Well enjoy using your color names then, since they work to begin with

Its all very simple, @Rilla.

They go from 00 to FF, with the first two being red, second two being green, third two being blue. the higher the value, the more of that color component is included. Unless you're really focused, you don't bother to memorize exactly what values make up a certain "named" color, you simply use what is roughly around it, perhaps experimenting with preview to confirm it is what you want.

The names lie, anyway, so don't trust them. (For instance, it is physically impossible for your typical RGB monitor to display actual violet.)

you need a proper LSD monitor for that, right @Shienvien?

Or was it a quantum wrangler you needed?

@Mahz I didn't want to leave the site, because it really needed something but I had a suggestion in the section, you probably will read it right? roleplayerguild.com/topics/84837-sugge..
