"Taka! Wake up! I gotta get to the hospital and you can't keep crashing here. You have your own bed next door get out of mine."
Ren sighed...
His childhood friend Takara had the habit of breaking in his apartment and crawl into his bed in the middle of the night. Ren didn't really mind, but sometimes it was a bother.
He shook the boy. And again. And again. After his 5th attempt of waking the younger boy, he grew sick of it. He grabbed Taka and his own blanket and lifted them (princess style). He carried him out of his room and into the (obviously cheaper) apartment next to his. He dropped Taka on his bed, turned away and locked the front door.
He walked back to his own room. Sorata, his cat, mewed at the sight of his owner returning.
"Come here Sorata." Ren said kindly "I'll give you some food."
After feeding his cat, he grabbed his bag and coat and went out. He worked as a doctor at T Hospital. He went down the stairs when he heard a soft sound.
"Mew, Mew."
A little kitty peeked his head out of a damp cardboard box. It seemed cold and hungry. Ren glanced at it. He stared for a bit but then turned the other way and resumed his path to work. Yet he couldn't get the small cat out of his mind. When he glanced back he saw that the kitten was following him, more like wobbling or dragging behind him. At this sight his heart ached and felt bad for it. He quickly ran back and grabbed the small animal gently. He went up the stairs and put it inside.
"Sorata! Take care of this little one will you?"
He asked his cat politely and, as if answering the male, the older cat mewed.
Ren turned around and locked the door for a second time. Now he had to hurry to his work. He lit up a cigarette, a bad habit yet hard to break, and started dashing towards T hospital. Yet unknowing of the things that were about to happen.
