"My life? What, are you that curious about my life? Well, if you're so adamant about it, then I suppose I could scrounge up something about my life.

Kaasni had returned She was bare foot and her hair was messed up. "One sandwich for you! Sorry for the wait how goes the lesson? I know it's a lot. The more you get through the better understanding you will have on the Legal system that governs the behavior of people. Not to mention its a profession, so if you use this ability in the service of others, they incur a debt to you." She smiled at you and tilted her head to the side. "I even picked up some bottled water for us!"

Bessie slipped her laptop open and booted it up. She frowned as there was no results on the Google Maps or the MapQuest Maps. Then she just placed in the search bar. Her eyes went wide open in complete surprise.
"There is no way that you are from Sam's Hill. It is an euphemism or minced oath for "the devil" or "hell". You can't be from Hades! Or can you?..... I can't accept that you are from Hades Rowan because that is so totally impossible for anyone to be from there. It is a Lake of Fire and Brimstone. It smells like rotten eggs or sulphur. Take a look at this picture and tell me that is where you are from...... and this is not your father now is it?" Bessie spoke in a disbelieving voice.

Kosdar glanced at the girl as she came in, at least she had taken off those shoes. "Do something about that mess of your hair." he said dismissively and grabbed the food and water, quickly munching the sandwich and guzzling down the water, and sighing relief. Well it was human food but it wasn't that bad all things considered. He looked at the computer bored, "Eh I'm bored of that, anything else to do here?" He asked skeptically. Not that he expected much, they probably had the options of chores, learning, and sleeping. Ugh.

"That's an odd conclusion to come to," Rowan said. "Think about it logically. What proof is there that hell even exist, let alone hold someone like me there? I hardly look the part."

"I know that much but Sam's Hill is not anywhere in the world. This is a modern day world and laptops can and do keep track of many things including obscure places. We have the technology to find anyone, anywhere, at any time if they are wanted. But if you do not wish to tell me the truth then we shall just work on your adjustment skills so that you can join the main body of the Academy." Bessie spoke in a cold tone as she turned her laptop around to herself once more and logged out of it.

"Table etiquette is very important. One must not place one's arms on the table for instance. One must chew with one's mouth close. One should cut up just a few bites of food before eating, placing one's knife on the edge of the plate in a manner that the knife will not fall off the plate....." Bessie began to lecture in a monotone voice but the there was a bit of anger in her eyes.

Whatever she felt like now wasn't of any concern to Rowan. Perhaps if she thought about how he felt having to deal with these questions? This had better all blow over soon. He could barely understand any of the words she was saying on table manners, one of those boring talents that Rowan had no reason to learn.

Bessie finished her lecture with a single warning.
"I will be giving you physical warnings since we will be working on conversation skills. You are very much lacking in normal conversation skills. I will not expect you to be able to speak to Royalty or even as a politician. But you will hold a lady's attention with the verbal skills. The next social skill that we will be working on will be proper manners towards a lady. These skills will get you through your social life in the Academy well enough to finish your education here socially.

You will also begin your education tomorrow. I will work on your lessons this evening after your social lessons are done. Do you understand what I am saying?"

Rowan wasn't very happy about this girl's attitude. She seemed to have a problem with her attitude, or something. Added to the fact that Rowan was still upset over the whole thing, this meant that Rowan was not at all satisfied with his situation.

"You're just a bundle of joy, aren't you princess?" Rowan said sarcastically.

"Of course I am."Bessie snapped back at him.
"I just don't like being lied to or anyone poking fun at me. I have had enough of that all of my life. I do not need it now. Besides that I did not volunteer for this job so I am not exactly a happy camper. I'd love to know who put my name in the pot because I would give that person a piece of my mind. Now let's get this mess cleaned up."

Bessie stood up and picked up her mostly there food and shake. She went to the kitchen area and dumped everything into the garbage disposal. She turned and faced Rowan who was still at the table.

Rowan was waiting for whatever Bessie was now going to say now. Together, they seemed to have created a toxic environment. From what Rowan knew, it would not end until one of them retreated. So he just stayed there, sitting.

"Rowan, if you are done eating, you will have your next lesson. It is called washing dishes and put them away properly. I am going to wash my dishes if you wish to watch a demonstration. If not, that is fine as well. But part of your grade and being able to escape this Apartment Complex is to be able to do this task properly." Bessie began to fill the sink with water and a few drops of soap. She took a dish cloth out and began cleaning the stove and counters while keeping her eyes on the sink. Afterwards, she simply washed up the few dishes while she began to wonder just what it will take to get Rowan motivate enough so that she could leave in two weeks time.

Rowan decided to listen to her, even if they were both upset. What he didn't admit was that he had no idea how to wash dishes. However, he watched Bessie do it, and it seemed simple enough. He took a dish and washed it as she did.

Before long, the kitchen was clean.
"I am going to my room to make your lessons. I will email your lessons to you and you will emial them back to me. I will start out with basic math then increase the difficulty until you no longer understand how to do the math. We will make dinner together. Tomorrow, breakfast is on your own. I will test you on English, Vocabulary, Grammar and Spelling. Lunch. I am not sure what it will be yet. Then I will test you on history and science.

Just what are you planning on being after you get through this Academy? It would help me to plan what you need to take when you get into the Academy. I am just trying to help you get in the Academy and then I'll leave you alone." Bessie spoke softly in a weary voice.

Mathematics should be quite easy. It was, after all, one of the subjects he was most familiar with. From what he knew, mathematics were the same as they were in hell. As she said she would increase the difficultly until he no longer could cope would the difficulty, he nonchalantly said, "Yes, you do that." However, without his notes, he might run into difficulty when he ran into the advanced classes, but he should get far enough, considering he had been up to his knees in calculus, at least where his studies were concerned.

Other classes, however, were a bit more worrisome. He knew nothing of the science of the upper world, and on history he knew much the same. It was quite unfortunate, given the circumstances. He shouldn't have to much trouble in English, as long as Bessie didn't expect anything fancy. While he did fine, it was not his expertise.

To answer her secondary, more important question, however, Rowan said, "I'll have to give it some thought as to what direction I want to take."

If Bessie had nothing else to say to him, he would go

"That is fine, Rowan. You will have time to think on that. I am going to go and send you the first testing. Mathematics that is about adding, subtraction, multiplying and dividing. Then the second testing will be on Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry/Pre-Calculus,
Calculus is the last one. Any questions?" Bessie asked.

"No, no questions," Rowan said. "I get it."

Bessie smiled and went to her room. She opened a folder and sent the tests over to Rowan. She then laid down on her bed for a bit of a nap. Her head was pounding. She knew that she needed to be up in like an hour or so unless she was needed. But right now she could rest a bit.

Rowan quietly went to his room, but his thoughts were raging like the ocean. He was full of exasperation, owing his displeasure to the way events had gone. If only he had thought of a better lie, all the anger that the two of them spouted would not have sprung up. He crashed upon his bed, making a large sound.

"There must be something I can do to rectify this," Rowan said. "Spirit, if you truly are to be my future adviser, then tell me what I can do to fix this."
