New Skywell, in the western areas of California, is a decently large (but not overwhelmingly so) town. With its' many high tech businesses and industries, it's also one of, if not the most advanced metropolis on the planet. With a prototypical force of police robots assisting its' meaty counterpart, well-educated people, and bountiful amounts of advanced technologies and medicines, it's a safe, lovely place to settle down.
Of course, while it's superbly equipped to deal with crime, it still has issues with Super-crime. Indeed, sadly, the robotic police forces could be easily hacked and this has happened on small scales already. With so many science experiments being performed, mutants and such are a possibility. As well, spies and sabeteurs from various corporations based in New-Skywell and other cities could be stalking the streets, planning to steal from or even take down each-other at any moment. With their research, this could have disastrous snowball effects.
Thankfully, New Skywell does have plenty of vigilante superpowered individuals, and IASDCOM, the International Anti-Super Defense Command, has a small outpost around the center of the city, next to a central park that's free to enter and use for everyone. Their most well-known (and sort of a poster-hero) vigilante, Corona, is renowned across the city for her efforts. Indeed, she captures the spirit of New Skywell in the eyes of many: A beacon of hope.
New Skywell has a few buildings and areas of note;
The City hall, which is in the northern area of the city, surrounded by many private businesses and sectors. This is where the city is ran by the government, as implied by the connotations of the name.
Central Park, as also implied by the simplistic name, is a large round park in the center of the city. Its' relatively dense forests are oddly easy to get lost in as well. There are also rumors that not a few scientists have been genetically modifying the small creatures inside to test various gene modifications.
Crimson Avenue is the only 'trouble area' in New Skywell. Indeed, it's actually quite tame, and many of its' establishments are actually quite high-quality. Crime-rates are the highest in the city, but still low, considering. However, there are a few buildings which are commonly suspected to be meeting places for Rogue-Supers.
IASDCOM NS-001, as known by IASDCOM's high command, is the local outpost of IASDCOM. Occasionally, agents operate out of here when particularly interesting super-powered individuals reveal themselves, especially when they're 'Rogue Supers'. As well, there are rumors that IASDCOM is negoatiating with the worlds' governments (or acting out of their will) to begin a Super Registration Program, and this would be a good place to start that.
Most of New Skywell's research comes out of Higgs Street, where plenty of research institutions reside. Many corporations and organizations conduct their research here, discovering all sorts of things, like more efficient nuclear reactor designs, knives so sharp they cut the cutting board, hydraulics small and cheap, yet strong enough to be used in mobility-assistance devices, and all sorts of other things. As well, many of the scientists in this district are actually bored doing all of this, if you need something sciencey done, why not ask one of the junior scientists? They'd probably do it for free out of raw boredom anyway.
Shit, I honestly have no idea! Just assume the 'repost characters' thing, I guess. I mean that makes sense to me. Hansa never mentioned that, lol. I'm just going off his script basically.
Edit: As well, I'm not really sure how to start. I mean, that 'My dude 'black static' begins to go around new skywell, find the other PC's, then tries to get them to register in the supers registration act' thing sounds reasonable, right?
And the registration act plot that you came up with sounds fun. Maybe you can butt heads with Overwatch Twelve along the way. Speaking of which I was thinking that they could have a base in this city too, do you mind if I come up with some NPCs for the New Skywell branch of O12?
Sure, go ahead, I'll post it in the thing. By the way, can you please give me a brief description of overwatch 12? As I'm the GM here, I'd like to at least be able to roleplay them adequately if I needed to. I'd love to go spelunking in the main thread and into your CS's walls of text, but I'm a little busy right now. I will later, though.
Edit: Whoops, I do have more time then I thought I did. Anyway, so they're like a friendlier XCOM? I think I'm beginning to remember them again. Weren't they in the titanpad?
And I did write about them in the titanpad. They are a friendlier XCOM with a little bit of Men in Black thrown in for good measure. Generally they're similar to IASDCOM, only their activities pertain to aliens instead of metahumans.
If you want, you can make a post detailing your dudes' morning routine, then we can collaborate on a sort of 'response post' to that. Or you could post, then my guy does. Whatever you guys would like, of course, as long as it makes sense.
