Appearance: The elf before you is a proud example of one who has seen - and participated in numerous battles. Tall and sinewy, he reaches nearly two meters in height, possessing a broad-shouldered frame, corded with muscle and hardened with callous. His skin is ashy blue in complexion, marked with various scars earned over a long, battle-filled life; the most notable of these being two long jagged lines that etch down the corner of his right eye. Purple-gray tattoos run from his neck up his jaw and ending just at his cheekbones, while additional tattoos mark his chin. His features, like many Dunmer, are sharp and angular, not overtly attractive but nonetheless devilishly enticing. His eyes are narrow and sharp, flashing a bright, almost malevolent blood-red, while his thin, almost nonexistent purple lips naturally curve into a frown. His nose is straight and prominent with a high bridge, while his ears stick out, almost dagger-sharp in appearance, the left ear pierced with gold earrings. His face is gaunt and narrow with almost hollow cheekbones, with a strong, prominent chin and a sturdy, curved jaw. He prefers to go generally clean-shaven, while the jet-black hair on top of his head nearly reaches down to his shoulders, typically kept knotted up behind him.

Though rarely seen without his trademark Chitin Armor, Azriel's clothing is practical and inelegant, consisting of various layered tunics and shawls colored differing shades of red, purple, and brown. A rawhide leather belt is wrapped around his waist, holding various pouches and satchels, and a single Elven dagger is strapped to his thick, rawhide leather boots.



Personality: Azriel is, by nature, something of a loner and outcast. Like many Dunmer, he is ruthless and aggressive when provoked and openly disrespectful and rude to those who have earned his ire. Yet underneath, he is an incredibly loyal friend, a lover of stories, and a sound giver of advice.

An experienced warrior who has fought for almost his entire life, Azriel is somewhat world-weary and cynical, hiding this emotional exhaustion with a front of sarcasm and deadpan sardonicism. He is a patient, tactical, and cautious combatant, knowing when to draw his blades and when to keep them sheathed on his back. This natural cautiousness makes him less quicksilver than other fighters, but allows him to pace his thinking, often coming to solutions after deep contemplation. However, he is capable of quickly thinking on the spot when necessary, often devising a plan of attack after visually studying how his opponents move. As a result, he possesses something of a confident recklessness, showing little fear in the face of danger and regularly seeking out worthy challengers.

In many ways, Azriel is a lover of the finer things in life. He would just as soon sit by a campfire with a good book and a bottle of brandy as he would demand combat. However, Azriel knows when to prioritize, and will put aside his own well-being without complaint to do what is best for his allies.

He is well-educated and well-read, having studied a variety of cultures over the course of his life. He enjoys to learn new things and will sometimes get caught up reading ancient inscriptions in a tomb or retelling the history of long-gone civilizations.

Lastly, Azriel does not appear to be driven by avarice or greed. While he expects payment for his services and a cut of loot from adventures, he is not guided by these desires and simply fights because he wants a challenge, wants to test his strength in hopes of finding a worthy opponent to face him.

History: Azriel Telvayn's backstory is a rather complicated and sad one. The son of a poor family of ash farmers, Azriel had very little in the way of an actual childhood. When he was very young, his father (who had taken one too many loans from a rather unscrupulous money launderer) had a large bounty put on his head. A notably dangerous assassin formerly associated with the Morag Tong by the name of Thoros Myr took the contract and quickly dispatched of both Azriel's parents.

Azriel caught Thoros in the act and bravely (if foolishly) attempted to attack the assassin. Though easily defeated and knocked down, Thoros took something of an interest in the young boy, and, in a rare moment of pity, took Azriel under his wing as a pupil and protege.

The duo spent the next few decades journeying all across Tamriel on a ship called The Marnais, traveling from Solstheim to Skyrim, Cyrodiil, Hammerfell, and most any other province in-between. Thoros and Azriel had a complex relationship, one of mutual trust but lacking in affection or parental warmth. Thoros was a teacher, an instructor - nothing more.

As Azriel grew older, Thoros taught him everything he knew on combat, training him in the arts of Swordsmanship and Destruction magic, skills that Azriel picked up on quickly and effectively. As the years passed, the two of them functioned as an effective mercenary team, with Azriel even allowed to take his own solo contracts from time to time. These continued exploits made them rather wealthy though they never spent their riches on anything other than basic necessities and equipment (though notably higher in quality).

By the time Azriel had reached his mid-sixties and possessed skill enough to rival Thoros, the older assassin finally revealed an ultimatum to the young elf: that they now had to fight to the death, one-on-one. There was no room in Tamriel for two equally skilled sellswords, and Thoros stated that whomever was the victor would carry on the mantle.

And so the two fought, their duel lasting for many hours as both Thoros and Azriel knew the other's tactics and maneuvers, parrying or blocking any strike. By the time the battle had reached its conclusion, both participants were exhausted and bloody, covered in wounds and ready to collapse. Yet Azriel finally cut down his former mentor before setting off on his own, taking his teacher's favored Elven Dagger as a keepsake.

Nearly a century has passed since that day, and Azriel has never again faced a battle quite so challenging and devastating as the one against his mentor. Constantly seeking out new challenges and opponents to face, an opportunity came along in the city of Cheydinhal, where a small group of adventurers came seeking allies to aid in their exploration.

Believing this to be the perfect chance to finally face a challenger who can defeat him, Azriel offered his services to the group, journeying to the small village of Falkreath to face a dangerous Nordic tomb...



Skills: Trained as a Spellsword since he was very young, Azriel is an excellent swordsman, specializing in dual wielding swordplay with his scimitars. His tactics are highly aggressive, using strong, debilitating attacks in an attempt to overwhelm and take down his opponents. Azriel is also capable of combining hand-to-hand combat and Destruction magic with his swordplay for more devastating attacks when facing multiple opponents.

However, dual-wielding comes at the cost of defense, and while he is capable of blocking attacks with his swords, his lack of a shield or heavy armor makes him vulnerable at longer ranges or to heavier weaponry, forcing him to use Destruction magic as a backup weapon.

While Azriel is capable of refining and repairing his own equipment, his knowledge of Smithing is rather lackluster, though he can repair most Steel, Elven, and Chitin equipment rather easily.

Magically, Azriel shows an adept amount of skill in wielding Destruction Magic, specializing in the use of Fire. Because of this, he is rather inept at using Shock or Frost spells, but this does not appear to disadvantage him too much. Secondly, while knowledgeable of the Restoration School and capable of healing himself and others to a degree, Azriel can be considered little more than an Apprentice skill-wise. Lastly, Azriel shows some knowledge of Alchemy and Enchanting, though this knowledge is on a textbook level and lacks much actual application, though with training he could develop these skills immensely.

When it comes to matters of persuasion, while Azriel is not a charmer by any means, he is rather skilled at intimidation and strong-arming, usually with threats of violence - threats he's more than ready to follow through on.

Jartod stands at six foot four. He has mostly a light brown skin complexion, with grey eyes. His jawline is defined, with average Redguard features such as his nose, lips and other major facial parts. His body is one that is muscular and fit and well kept.

Notable features on his body include: He has a scar on his quadricep muscle, going from the top of the quad to the bottom of it. He has a tattoo on his bicep, with the words on a traditional Redguard Tongue meaning “Ma and Pa” with his mother and father tattooed. He also has a scar on his hip.


Personality:

Jartod is a diverse person on many fronts,spiritually, Mentally and even Morally he has a diverse mindset towards different issues and things that affect him.

Jartod believes in all nine divines. However, unlike an average Nord he doesn’t boast or show it out in the open. He instead keeps it internal, and for the most part unknown to most people.that well. Yet, this really hasn’t stopped Jartod from being religious. He still goes to the church, often for a hour or two and just sits there to soak in the atmosphere and his surroundings.

Mentally, war changes any normal man/human. The White Gold Concordat changed Jartod to have more of a wider view of the world around him. Politics back then didn’t interest him but now he eagerly enters into political discussions and voices his affection for the Imperial Banner. He used to kill for his banner and for a moral code. But now all he upends is his Moral code. He still regards himself a member of the Legion deep down but understands the true reality of the world around him. He’s someone you gotta work to earn your trust and respect with in a slow passion, but he won’t downright slander you with insults or turn into a unpleasant person as you try or attempt to earn his trust and respect. He’s a friendly, and humble kind of person, who cares for people he values.

Morally, he’s influenced by the Imperial mindset of how life should be ran. He doesn’t harm pregnant women or kids, doesn’t consume drugs. He prefers also to often turn to Imperial law when deciding on how to deal with matters related to property or possible legal issues, however he at times reserves his judgment, in favor of allowing someone else to voice their concern and/or opinion. He’s however is, vocal on issues that concern or relate to the task at hand and if anything he presumes is abit out of line or illegal, he’ll voice his displeasure cleary.

History:

Jartod, was born in the Imperial City. His parents immigrated from Hammerfall a few months before he was born. His parents opened up a medium sized shop in the Imperial City, a armour/swords smithing shop which served as there main source of income. However, at times when the shop wasn’t doing so good or Jartod’s father wanted a rest for an period of time, his mother used to edit various books and novels before they were published, for a decent amount of coinage. They managed from living at the King and Queen Tavern to saving up for a decent house in the City. Jartod in his youth remebers his days of playing with the other kids, and having a minor education provided by the chruch. During this time of him getting an education at the chruch, he developed a sense of religiousness, and believed all of the nine divines, including Timber Septim.

As like most Redguard father’s, they often want there sons in the trade that they aspired to be in. So, at the age of 12, Jartod began to tend the forge. He spent countless hours at the forge, working and learning. His father, generally impressed at his son’s ambitous to suceed took him to a trainer and a teacher. Jartod trained in the art of armor making and swordsmanship until the age of 20, where he was considered to be a journymen, by people in the craft.

An unexpected turn of events occurred for Jartod at the age of 21. His mother was slain in cold blood near to the Timber Septim Inn. Jartod was enraged, so he went up and grabbed a iron longsword from his room and a wooden shelid. He got out of the door before he saw two Imperial Legionaries apprehend the murderer, with the weapon in cold sight, dripping from his mother’s blood.. but also his fathers. Jartod was informed by one of the guards that his father was slain as well, the killer was a thug sent by a competitor in the city, to oust out any other forging competitors before the groundwork was laid for there own blacksmithing firm, a failed attempt to monopolize. Jartod then, realized that the true heroes in this city are the Legion, so he sold the shop in the city, stored his coins at the bank before he went on to enlist and enroll with the Legion.

Jartod felt during his time with the Legion, he owed his life to them. His fierce loyality and willingness to previal was his drive or motivation to suceed. In a few years, he ranked up. He became a Lieutenant of the Imperial Legion, co-commanding a barrack in the city of Bruma.

Moving to Bruma from the Imperial city was an eye-opener for Jartod. He was used to the calm weather, the more finer cites and sounds of the city. Bruma however was a different tale. The Nords in the city were rowdy men, drinking ale and mead like it was water. He developed a strong like for Ale and mead during this time, and enjoys it to this date.

The Great War however was a changing point in Jartod’s life as a Legion Lieutenant. Bruma was considered a point of interested for the Aldmeri Dominion. It’s proximity to Skyrim and a chokepoint for trade was clearly understood by Jartod, and his superiors but also his men. With the word of an impending invasion on the horizons, Jartod ordered Bruma to be braed, secured and ready. Some of the Nord’s even agreed to fight againist the invaders. But all of this planning, and his collobartion with his captian and superiors lead to no avail. After 3 months, the city of Bruma fell to the invaders. Bruma in turn wasn’t that much of use to the Dominion. The barrack’s were subjected to a inspection by the Dominion. They ordered all men who worshipped Talos in the barracks to be discharged, on grounds of the White Gold-Concordat. This struck Jartod hard, because his moral belief system was compleyed shattered by it. The Imperials became puppets of the Thalmor, and Bruma was no expection. Nord’s were ordered not to worship Talos, and were given a prison sentence if they were. The mead halls after the Concordat didn’t roar as loud as they did before, often mellow and a somber note was rarely heard in them. Bruma in a sense, lost all it’s personality.

However, as weeks went by the Thalmor did a formal review on the Imperial barracks in Bruma. Out of the 125 men stationed in Bruma, 25 of them were discharged due to an unknown reason, Jartod was one of those 25. Some others were taken away from the barracks, and transferred somewhere else, and other’s.. just went missing. The barrack’s now only numbered 50 men after Jartod left. Jartod then went on a personal journey of self realization. He knew that as long as the Thalmor held the puzzle pieces in there hands there was no chance he could go back to the Imperials and serve under them. This period of time was one that he partook in various odd jobs. From mining, to guarding caravans.. anything that paid really was his only goal, or only requirement per say for finding a job. Untill, he came across some books on adventuring, as a profession.

Adventuring came as a relief for Jartod, and it allowed him to broaden his aspects in life, but also to explore and learn all about the world around him, a world that he only seen just a preview of. He went to Cheydinhal to sell some loot he found from a carriage that was ransacked by bandits, only to meet some more adventures, and the possibility of teaming up and going with them.

Imperial Training (One Hand) - Jartods skill with his sword is backed by the years of training as an Imperial soldier, he is no stranger to the ways of his blade, and know’s how to use it effectively and efficiently.

Appearance: Aenyarin's appearance is what one would typically expect of the Altmer, having been culturally bred over ages to resemble the Aldmer as closely as possible, and has almost all of the features one would typically associate with her Aldmeri heritage. Aenyarin's skin tone is the pale gold that springs to mind when one typically imagines the appearance of a typical High Elf, of fair complexion, and remarkably blemish-free, sans a single scar near the corner of her left eye. High cheekbones and angular features adorn her face and present a very naturally serious look that her expressions often do little to mask. Aenyarin's eyes are light hazel, less vibrant but more rich than her skin tone, and serve to accentuate the golden look she possesses rather than stand out like the eyes of many of the other races. Aenyarin's hair completes her overall theme, a shade in between burnished bronze and gold, and reaches just below her sternum at full length tied in a ponytail, and she has bangs that frame the sides of her face of a slightly lighter golden colour.

Aenyarin's build is fairly typical of the Altmer, being lithe and toned, but not sturdy enough to give off the impression of a great deal of capability regarding physical activity. Aenyarin stands at a rather tall 6'2" compared to many of the other races, and especially females, though her weight is comparable to the average of many other races due to her heritage, and her silhouette is also largely typical of true Altmeri heritage. Overall, Aenyarin is no great beauty, but selective breeding has given her the closest approximation to the Aldmer that her forebears could muster, and that gives her a certain respect among her own kind, if nothing else.

Personality: Aenyarin's primary attribute is her tremendous intellect, which her race and culture are often wont to possess, and it is clear from even the first impression of her that she has devoted much of her life and time towards cultivating a natural aptitude of learning. Knowledge is power, the creed of many mages and perhaps also of many Altmer, is perhaps the most fundamental aspect of her personality that drives her forward, but it - like all inherent principles - blossoms into various traits dependent on the environment in which it is cultured, and the values by which it is fed. As a proud member of the Altmer, this gave Aenyarin's natural aptitude a haughty and insular edge.

Aenyarin knows that she is significantly better at the magical arts than most hope to achieve in their lifetimes, and that fact is a constant facet of her personality - she is a superior being in many regards, as Altmer believe that they are, and she wears that fact proudly and openly (often to the chagrin of those that do not share her love for her race and culture). Even through such arrogance and pride she is not unpalatable, however, as her passion and wisdom also shine through to somewhat dull the sharp edge of her more brusque qualities. Aenyarin finds value in many things, in currency, in information, in culture, and appreciates finery in all of its forms - though she often thinks herself inscrutable to the lesser minds of the less cultured and less magically adept races, brilliance is something she is undeniably attracted to and fascinated by, and she can overlook most things in order to see the true value of exceptionalism - a trait many of her brethen do not possess.

Politicking is something that Aenyarin adores. Her battles are won with wit and charm, with force of will and strength of mind, and as an Altmer she expects no less of herself or her fellows. The other races are easier to forgive for these shortcomings as they are not expected to be on the level of a superior being like Aenyarin, and just as she appreciates and holds great respect for brilliance, she holds the utmost scorn for failures and dullards. Her level of contempt for those that do not at the very least aspire to be the greatest that they can be is exceptionally difficult for her to hide, and often she will simply project the brunt of her derision at them with little care for the consequences such outbursts can have.

Morality is, in particular, a concept that Aenyarin grapples with often. She does not necessarily consider herself to be immoral, but she considers everything other than the Altmer to have less value than she and her people do, and will not hesitate to sacrifice them for things she considers to be of greater value. For as long as anything, except her people, are less valuable than something else she will consider them to be expendable. On the other hand, she is well aware of the value of long-standing friendships and of the many skills that she needs, and will not dispose of them lightly. The Altmer have long lives, and Aenyarin sees the bigger picture for many things, including the value of her allies and friends.

History: Aenyarin's early life was typical of the Altmer - a lifetime's worth of education in culture, in history, in religion, and - of course - in magic. These things were taught to be of the greatest value, of fundamental and paramount importance to Aenyarin's life and to her ability to contribute to Altmeri society, and follow these instructions she did. Aenyarin excelled in these areas, and for a great deal of her childhood and adolescence was mired within the deep politicking and learning of culture that so often takes place on Summerset.

A large part of Aenyarin's life was tied up on Summerset, but she had aspirations that existed outside of the island she called her home, and those ambitions did not go unnoticed by an agent of the Thalmor called Marne, who inducted the promising Altmer. Aenyarin was recruited as a diplomat and mediator, as she possessed the pride of the Altmer necessary to sympathise with the Thalmor and the natural affinity for politicking that came with being a diplomat. Aenyarin's presence was first noted in Cyrodiil around the time of the Great War, where she did not directly fight but aided in talks with the Empire. In her natural state of wanting to advance, Aenyarin took up more and more lucrative missions for the Thalmor, learning what skills she needed to survive in the practical world as she went by, and eventually her skills were found to be worthy of use in the Thalmor's less savoury internment camps.

Aenyarin continued her work with the Thalmor for several years, learning the ways of torture and interrogation, and occasionally branching out as a field agent for combat-light missions. As time went on, she began to tire of her status not increasing, and sought to further herself within the ranks. She took on strenuous mission after strenuous mission, even in things she was not necessarily particularly exceptional at, and earned a name for herself within the Thalmor quickly. After a time of pushing herself far too hard, she was noticed and considered for promotion by her superiors, and sent on a delicate mission to cement her place. Deception is the game of those in the Thalmor, however, and Aenyarin's mission was sabotaged by a jealous rival, who attacked her (and left the distinctive scar on her left eye) and took the glory of the mission's success for himself.

Aenyarin was too useful for the Thalmor to dismiss, but her failure to anticipate such an attack from her fellows was a sign of weakness in their eyes - she was permitted to stay in high esteem, but she would not receive a promotion. For one who strived always to brilliance, this was an insult of the highest regard. When one has joined a group such as the Thalmor, however, it is impossible to ever truly be rid of them. Aenyarin took less and less missions, applying the skills and knowledge she had garnered to adventuring to make her trade, until such a point where she requested to be removed from active duty and sent back to Summerset. The Thalmor agreed, for a time, and she spent time in her homeland examining where she went from there on out.

Over time, Aenyarin reaffirmed her love for her people and homeland but decided to return to mainland Tamriel in order to continue to improve like she had in the Thalmor's service, but grew wary of their ways and how they treated those that they no longer considered particularly useful. She grew to feel that the Thalmor had the correct intentions but incorrect execution for the destiny of her people, and elected not to fully return to their service on the mainland, but to adventure for herself first and foremost. Her skill in illusion magic and in diplomacy allowed her to negotiate a deal with her masters, affording her use of the Thalmor's vast networks of information, spies, and occasionally resources in exchange for her reporting upon the state of things in the other provinces of Tamriel and occasionally her keen talent for interrogation.

After following a lucrative lead to Cheydinhal, Aenyarin found herself amongst a group of adventurers who promised a lead to an undisturbed Nordic tomb that could prove particularly lucrative - and having nothing to hold her back, Aenyarin agreed.

Skills: Aenyarin’s primary skill is magic, and in it she considers herself exceptionally skilled. Though this is somewhat true, her skills are not as impressive as she perhaps believes them to be. Aenyarin's primary focus is on Illusion magic, which she is well into the Expert-level of, and is skilled in magic that aims to win people over, pacify people, or induce fury. Of particular note is that her Illusion magic has often been turned to torture and interrogation, creating illusory scenarios designed to break willpower and inflict imaginary pain.

Also of note are her Adept-level skills in Destruction magic, something that proved to be necessary as a field agent, and in Restoration magic (which has saved her life on several occasions). Aenyarin's particular affinity in Destruction magic is Ice-based, and she has little focus on the other two elements that comprise the school, but is not necessarily unskilled in them. Aenyarin's Restoration magic consists primarily of healing, but after a particularly nasty incident involving Draugr, she is also somewhat turning and repelling the undead.

Aenyarin’s primary non-magical talent is that of Speechcraft, supplemented by her talents in Illusion magic, and she is a very accomplished diplomat and negotiator, able to get her party’s demands met in the way that benefits that party the most – often at the expense of those she is against.

Aenyarin also has a strong knowledge of cookery, a moderate knowledge of enchanting, and a penchant for being generally abrasive to lesser races, in particular the Bosmer.

Equipment: Aenyarin carries little equipment with her, electing to travel light enough to flee if caught in a position she cannot magic her way out of. She carries with her several books for reading, a journal and writing tools, and a simple steel dagger that she cannot effectively use. Her equipment consists of two sets, one being her Thalmor uniform, and another being a set of Expert-level robes (complete with boots and a hood).
