Nevermind, somehow the French and Africa are one and the same.

That makes just as little sense as Britain and Germany being the same, but whatever.

Maybe I'll be Argentina and Iceland. That sounds about the same kind of logic as half the other people.

@WilsonTurner I recommend that you take a look at the map. You're stepping on some toes with your claims

I also recommend not hosting the image on Imgur or a similar site, because then the image doesn't work when one is at school, and those websites are blocked.

Try postimg or something. You know, so people can see it if they got blocked internet.

Why are you so upset? The end of the world happened. Anything is possible and Mediterranean Europe and North Africa coming together makes a whole hell of a lot more sense than Argentina and Iceland. They kinda have this crazy little thing called proximity and shared history. Plus Franco-Iberia is in general a pretty progressive nation, I think it makes perfect sense for them to reach out to their neighbors and try to form a greater union instead of descending into hokey tribalism.(which is something my Byzantines are all over, but they're more conservative) Franco-Iberia could easily be seeing this as an opportunity to forge a new world without all the bad blood of the past. Also if you honestly think that Britain and Germany coming together is absurd or illogical then I am wont to believe that your history education ended in 1944. Honestly the system set up by the UKE isn't crazy, its a turbo-capitalist nation made up of a bunch of groups that have a lot to offer each other economically, which is kind of a thing that rabid capitalists would value far more than ethnicity or history when empire building.

You just gotta chill dude.

No problem. Is there a map I can look at that has all the territories taken?

Why are there so many battleships?

Realistically, anyone with a half-filled compliment of aircraft on an Aircraft carrier, or any modern Destroyer would have the ability to knock out a battleship. The reason they aren't used any more is because those little ships that used to be armed with torpedoes are now armed with air-torpedoes, and could fire this air-torpedo from any spot, behind any cover, while remaining detected or undetected, and hit the battleship more often than the battleship would hit a target as large as itself from half the range.

And some nations have like 25% of their population in the military.

America has 318,000,000 million people.
America has a military with less than 1,500,000 troops active-duty. There are under 3,000,000 troops in active or reserve forces.
America employs the largest navy in the world, and employs the most troops to the most places world-wide, I believe. And yet they have under four million troops.

Kind of ridiculous, no?

@WilsonTurner In some ways, it is ridiculous. However, this isn't real life. This is a fictional world, with people running with great ideas. If people became over-powered in this NRP, I would hope the GM/Co-GM would say something.

I'm going with a nation that wasn't burned by nuclear fire, which means that they'll probably be the leaders in terms of technology, because they have the more recent old-world stuff. And because they weren't blown up, those that were seeking civilization and a new command structure to follow would find them, though there would be disorganization, resentment, etc., because of the war.

Your point on battleships is true, but at the same time a battleship in a world where most people don't have aircraft at all would be incredibly powerful if it could be maintained properly. And really the thing people rather erroneously assume is that modern missile destroyers are in any way analogous to WWII destroyers in scale. But again that would imply that modern warship classes actually mean anything (protip, they really don't). Who knows, it was the 2050s, these battleships could be things like the Russian Kirov in that they're huge missile boats, or they could be boats with large numbers of railguns made for super heavy support artillery. They could have point defense systems that means that only hyper velocity projectiles could damage them. I guess the point I'm making is that it is in no way hard to justify a battleship.

I do concur about scaling down on the sizes of militaries as I had already said in an earlier post.

Great idea! I happen to think the same thing. We could always have our nations close by, working together?

Aye, railguns could be used to put a shell deep into the African desert into a space the size of a small house. Very precise, could be very powerful, but I think few of the former superpowers could manage it. The European, Asian, and American countries would be the primary people there- they'd be working the ruins. Meanwhile, places like Africa, South America, perhaps Canada, and maybe smaller island nations, such as the Philipines, might be relatively untouched by the war. They'd be the new America to everyone else's now-third-world.

I am reserving the Southern American countries, btw.

Oh, and yes, that would be cool, except my nation is pretty much on the tip of the bottom of the world. South Africa (Madagascar included) is only really close to the rest of Africa, or Saudi-Arabia.

Speaking of which, the Middle East is relatively unclaimed, so that would be a good place to get. Being always warmongering, they'd be untouched by the war because they're already warring, and people wouldn't have time for them... or people would focus on them because of oil and stuff. Either way, the Middle East is still unclaimed and could be very prosperous.

@WilsonTurner No. The middle east would be very much involved if a nuclear war broke out, thus they would be heavily targeted. So no, the middle east is most certainly not untouched, and would probably be more dangerous because of the large amount of anthrax and other biochemical weapons stored there.

Had you bothered to read over the existing nation sheets, you'd see that not only was Western Europe sparred almost all of the nuclear conflict, but the Middle East was heavily bombarded as well, with Turkey alone taking half a dozen warheads. The Southern Hemisphere was relatively untouched, while Asia, America, and European Russia took most of the damage. Seeing as you've now run into two inconsistencies with the established lore, I recommend you take a better look at the "Characters" tab.
