Bunch of people find themselves washed up on an island after a plane crash. Of course most planes that crash on/near islands are found by a rescue team within a couple of days - but that is not the case when the apocalypse is in full flow.

This RP will mainly be about the characters. How they live and work together, how they interact, and how their friendships or rivalries develop. Surviving on a tropical island would be no easy feat within regular circumstances, but we have the added challenge of zombies. The zombies are not the focus however. If you are looking for a full-on, action-packed, running through the city with machine guns blazing zombie RP, this isn't it. The zombies are just here to push us in a more interesting direction. If anything, you should be worried about your human enemies as much as the zombies.

Looking for an interesting and diverse group of characters. Would prefer the majority of the cast to be young adults, but I don't mind having a kid or an older character here and there. I want to stress that this is high casual, so if you're the sort of person that might drift towards free every now and then, please don't apply.

So, before I get a solid story written up, is anyone actually interested?

This is a great idea. Maybe you could do a school trip to you can stick with the younger generation! :)

Interested. On the island there could live an indigenous tribe. The language barrier alone can be a major issue between the two groups. Just and idea.

I might be interested, what are the rules on gear and such? I might be able to reuse an old character of mine from another zombie RP but she tends to travel armed due to military status, is there a policy on this?

I'm assuming, since we are a group of people that survived a plane crashed, there isn't much we can have as far as weapons. Considering baggage check and airport rules. We'll most likely have to make our own weapons. But it would be interesting to have at least one player with a gun - I would think, considering the situation we'll be starting in, even more challenging if this individual had to check in their weapon and say such bag is found by someone else after the crash.

In terms of weaponry, I'd have to agree with Xistina. Maybe the pilot had a gun or something along those lines. So will mostly be melee. But due to it being a island with a low population, it's not like we'll be facing thousands of zombies head on (at least not initially), so we'll be okay without guns I think.

Probably won't get an OOC up today, but here is an app to play with. Don't post it here, send it to me if you want but it's just something to play with until the OOC is up.

Reason I haven't included "equipment" and stuff is because it's highly unlikely that you'll wake up immediately with anything. We will salvage stuff later on.

The reason I asked was I would imagine a military field officer (colonel in this case) would be permitted to carry some sort of weapon, but I wasn't sure what the opinion on that would be. Would perhaps a knife be an acceptable weapon to wake up with?

The main differences of the knife would be its size and quality (much better than an average shiv made from scrap metal or somesuch), but that's what I figured. I'm not expecting it to be a huge game changer, though it ought to help against the shambling corpses we're sure to come up against.
