Adam walked alongside of Zoey, playing music quietly through his headphones to distract himself from the thoughts of the nearby civilians . He spotted the park in the distance and sped up his pace .

Zoey easily kept in pace with him, listening to her own music with one ear and listening to everything else around her with the other. She walked up to the edge of the park and paused, scanning the area. Being a school day at just barely noon, the park was quite empty, save for a few young kids and their parents, as well as much more aged humans. The small pond was reflecting the direct sunlight, making it seem white. Most of the benches were occupied and a large willow tree cast its shadow over the ground in the even less populated area of the park.

Adam looked around the park, briefly studying all the people and tuning into their thoughts . He looked away from the crowds and headed towards the shade of the tall tree, figuring that would be the best place to sit .

Zoey followed, stopping near the trunk of the tree and looking up at the branches. She carefully observed how far the first branch was from her reach and then glanced around. Making sure no one was paying attention, and that her phone was securely in her pocket she reach up, her nails suddenly sharper and more clawlike, allowing her to climb the tree with ease, she pulled herself onto a comfortable branch, hanging her bookbag on a branch just higher that it on her right.

It took Adam a bit longer to climb the tree, since he couldn't really use any of his telekinetic powers to help in that field without it being too obvious . He sat on the same level of branches on the opposite side of the trunk as Zoey and hung his backpack on the branch above him as well .

"Good, we're just high enough so that people won't see us. Probably." She leaned against the main body of the tree and checked her phone for messages or alerts. "On the bright side. I'm eighteen. If I fail again I can just drop out. Its not like I need college."

Adam shrugged . "If I fail this year I'll find a way to drop out . I'm not doing any more years in that prison than I have to ." He adjusted his music volume and sat back . "But, I make all the important test dates . And they're easy to pass with telepathy . So hopefully I won't ."

Zoey closed her eyes, her back against the rough bark of the tree. Her headphones playing her music loud in her ears. Periodically she'd check her phone and respond to a text. Very occasionally she'd glance at Adamn and the wolf-like creature next to him.

Adam closed his eyes and yawned quietly . He watched the people around him, listening to the music that played from his phone . He tapped his foot on the branch absentmindedly, his gaze now focused on a far away fountain that seemed to have a statue of some sort of creature perched atop of it .

Adam listened very carefully, directing all of his energy towards the fountain . He heard quiet, almost whisper-like voices due to the distance between him and his target . But they also sounded... "Lost . They sound lost," he stated plainly, while for the most part being spaced-out from the real world .

"Lost..." Zoey repeated quietly. They certainly did seem to be lost. The lesser demons around them seemed to be bored, detached, tied to their humans as long as their spirit rested in the world.

Adam stayed focused on the thoughts of the spirits lingering around the fountain . They were very intriguing, very captivating . He lost himself in their whispers and spaced-out completely . He could feel them drawing him in, but he didn't have any will left to resist it . He was compelled to listen . He sat up on the branch as if being controlled, and proceeded to stand . The branch wavered beneath his feet as he precariously walked along it towards the edge in the direction of the fountain .
