You guys have some pretty cool nations, I'll admit. I do sincerely hope we get to 1900 so we can see those nations evolve and change.

The flux is this "force limit" stuff?

So people don't end up with 221 Third Rates, 165 Second Rates and 71 First Rates. That's what it is.

It only delays the inevitable. People will pussy out from actually going to war, because they remember all the risk games where the first person to act was always the first to die, so they'll keep building factories and increasing their population, so their force limit will increase, and then have a naval arms race that way.

If you're here to "win", then you're here for the wrong reasons.

Also, when I say "you", I am using the "generalizing you" (i.e., if anyone is here to "win"...), not you specifically.

That's fine. If people want "turtle," to save face, those brave enough to take risks will surpass them.

War will come. If not to the Great Powers, the nations around them will expand and conquer and be conquered, etc. I don't mean it will be forced on them, but the NPC nations have their own ambitions!

Also, I want Dalatrum to post because he has a cool country, man. And he got dealt a dirty political blow!

Just post the Sanguine Empire post! It won't change anything.

Culturally my favorite nation is Skeptoni. Militarily it's Zellonia. Politically it's either Anvegad or Oslad. Cool factor is either Braiyusal or Sanguine.

Love y'all.

Politically? How is Anvegad interesting Politically? Would have thought it would be military.

Heh, well I'll just keep playing the game as its meant to be played.

It's very macabre, and imaginatively cold and dingy hallways are appealing to me, sir. It's Prussian-esque military, though definitely in the top three in the Old World, does not.

Anyhow. The other announcement I have is starting now instead of months I'll be running the crises through seasons. This will make time go by smoother, instead of us literally lurking through the game.

Prussian? Why does everyone seem to think I am a mini-Germany when I based my artillery and logistics stuff off Napoleonic France? Eh, gets the same end result I suppose.

Still keeping the 3-2 action system for seasons? Will our actions scale differently to the new turn length? Either way, agreed on that some smoothing of the game would make things nice so we can rush into conflict and tangled alliances all the more quickly. :)

Well, while it's narcissistic of me to say, I can't say I'm exactly surprised Oslad is politically interesting. I've been playing enough Paradox games and working for a Political Science major, minoring in Eastern European history. So politics is a strong point for me.

Four turns a year means the game will go on, change and evolve quicker. At this rate we'll have 27 "Treaties of 1836" before it's August of 1836.

So next update will be Summer, 1836.

Great Powers will get 5 Actions per turn. Regional Powers get 3.

That almost sounds like the real world in the period 1905 - 1914 :)

Next update is going to be the biggest one yet. Lots happening in the world. Nations involved are Anvegad, Sanguine, Braiyusal, Zellon, Skeptoni, Nehalania and Boletaria. May add more once others get their posts up.
