Tantos are kind of like daggers, yes. I could swear a wakizashi is like a shortsword, while a katana is like a 2 handed arming sword. You have to bear in mind people from history are far shorter than us, especially Asian peoples from that time, so measurements for weapons are far shorter than their European counter-parts, but if they were used by Europeans they would be scaled up

@Letter Bee what exactly does your character look like? I know you posted a picture, but the picture wasn't very distinguishable. Is he tall? Handsome? Is that black hair? Muscular? Thin? Any distinguishable features? Birthmarks?
