Thoughts on the mission churned about in Mirrah's mind, swelling and shrinking with every passing moment. These thoughts were interrupted by a loud sound that could've only have been made by someone using the intercom on the ship. It seems that a plethora of unpredictable people placed themselves in a pitiful predicament, and probably will be properly punished. Hm...not much time had passed since the ship started moving. Whatever team that had been assembled must not be as compatible as initially thought. Still, they had all just met each other. Maybe time would change things.

Her eyes returned to the commander as the voice on the intercom was directed to Echo. The commander rubbed her temples, a sign that she was already being out through stress, and was trying to alleviate herself from it. She turned to the door, and stopped to look at Mirrah. It had taken a while, but the commander had finally addressed her Presence. Echo asked for Mirrah's reasons for following her, proving that she had indeed noticed the Seer before. However, she had also mentioned that the Council had already assigned a team to be under the command of Echo.

"Hm...how unfair. Only specialists will be used?"

One would think that. Mirrah had let a stray thought be voiced, but those who knew her knew that thoughts such as these would be most likely to be voiced by Mirrah. Still, she ignored her own question for now to address and answer the one asked by Echo.

"I am Mirrah. A volunteer of the C.E.U. I was not given an order or position, however, and decided that I must be given those by the commander herself."

Not quite how it works, but Mirrah did not know much about military procedure. There was no actual need for it back where she was from, so it was foreign to her. She could've stopped there, and had it been someone else, they would have. However, she was an honest person to those she works with, and as such, she spoke of her other reason for following her.

"Aside from that, I have also taken it upon myself to oversee your actions and how you handle situations."

Akame

Akame rolled around the floor while hugging the case tightly adorning her weapon at the same time "You'll be getting extra treatment tonight and I'll also clean you from top to trigger." Akame kissed the case a few more times but felt startled once she saw one of her other colleagues looking down upon her with a not as pleased look on his face as when she first met him. The alien man seemed to be quite angry at her for her child like behaviour and about the fact that she broke some of the cargo already. She sat upright with her legs wrapped around the case that also had been placed pointed upwards and look around her over the floor. She saw the multiple little components and gadgets that were scattered across the floor and a few broken piece of glass and other junk. She looked at the man again and awkwardly smiled at him for what she had done. The man irritatedly spoke to her and left her alone with her weapon for now. She gave a nod at his last phrase and gave him a warm smile before he went back to do his own little things again.

He ordered one of the lower grunts to clean up the mess she made. The grunt hesitated for a moment to help the alien but went along with it once he saw his expression. Akame gave the case one more kiss and placed it next to her running her hand along the long side of the case while whispering to the case "We'll leave it for tonight." She crawled over the floor helping the man pick up the several remaining components and tried placing some of the broken once together again but failed so she sneakily just placed them in the boxes again. The alien man spoke up to her again. He was sure the one commanding the place here. Akame got up again and gave the man in uniform a wide smile while joining her hands behind her back again and angling her upper body slightly to the side "It was a pleasure to be of your assistance!" She cheerfully said and waved the grunt off to do his own work again.

Akame twirled around and picked up the case with both hands. She swung it around her back and let it remain sitting there, with the case in the width leaning on her butt while being carried by both her hands. Akame got over to the table and glanced over the several attachments and gadgets. She still had the same cheerful smile on her face and replied to the alien his question "I'm pretty sure you can get them on earth for not much more than average so let's say around 50 earth currency. So with the payment you get on this ship you can buy loads of them!" She gave a warm smile at Yamesh and walked over to the dressing part of the facility where all the suits and armours were kept. Akame walked over and got behind cover or into a dressing room if there were any and changed into a grey aerodynamic one piece that showed the shapes and sizes of her body. Akame walked over to her set of armour and noticed the presence of Janos. She gave a warm smile at him before plunking down her weapon case onto the floor next to her armour and walked over towards him. Akame noted he was close to a demolition type of armour and assumed he had something to do with dismantling or placing explosions on this mission. She poked out her hand and kindly smiled at him "Hai! My name is Akame nice to meet you! I'm one of the ship's ground front lines if you didn't get informed yet. Let's get along!"

Stellan couldn't help but laugh at Akame's antics, if she was like this all of the time then this mission was certainly going to be interesting. Though he hoped that she knew when to get serious, he couldn't afford to have someone at his back who didn't as that was a surefire to get him and the rest of them killed. But that was in the future and for now he had no problem with keeping things lighthearted though clearly the Santerian did not agree with him. Stellan wondered if the Alien had any sense of humour at all, especially given his words on humans, obviously he was going to take a lot of work to loosen him up. The Santerian motioned him over to a desk covered in electronic components and then made it obvious what he thought of the human race.

Stellan merely chuckled at the Alien's words. "Boring? Humans? Never been called that before but I reckon you'll change your mind soon enough. We humans are pretty good at surprising people."

He glanced down at the equipment and lifted his shoulders in a shrug. "No idea but I'm guessing from your scowl that they're expensive? Though Akame clearly thinks otherwise. Don't worry I'm not going to break anything, I might be a big human suitable for manual labor but I respect someone else's equipment. Speaking of which I need to check my gear, commander's orders."

He nodded to the Alien and then turned towards the lockers where Akame and Janos were already checking their gear and talking, he strode up to them and nodded at both. He opened his locker and pulled out the plain, serviceable one piece suit checking it for damage and nodded in satisfaction. It was undamaged, though well worn, and still able to serve its purpose. He then went to the area where his weapons were stowed and lifted each weapon off its cradle and onto a nearby table. He then began to take them apart, check each piece before reassembling the assault rifle, and rocket launcher. He also laid out his grenades and checked them as well.

"So Xan huh? Never been there, at least it'll be interesting." He said to the others conversationally, continuing to check his gear as he did so.

Yamesh his eyes widened as the girl made a guess of the price. "Fi-fifty!? That's preposterous! Think more of five thousand. Pfoeah..." But it was a wasted sentence. The girl was already gone. So was the human male actually. "All too quick..." Then he feels a poke on his back and as he turns around looks into the eyes of some human male. It seems he was dissatisfied with Yamesh his treatment of the girl. The Santerian glanced at the human while he was holding his 'speech'. Human. Male. Around the 25ish. First time on starship. Just woke up. Smells off... Meat? Beer? No... Smoke. "Well!? What do you have to say to that?!"

Yamesh shook his head and sighed. "I criticize her because it's my job. I'm supposed to work with these people and lay my life in their hands. I do want someone I can trust then. And I have a bad history with trusting humans. Also, smoking is forbidden on this ship. How about I mention that to the captain?" Then he turns around and grabs a small microphone and speaks.

Yamesh his voice can be heard through the speakers in the changing rooms, reaching Stellan, Akame and Janos. "You may notice some slight modifications to your weapons and, or, armor. If you're completely done, come back to me and I'll go through the basics of some of it."

Janos was slightly taken aback by Akame's seeming enthusiasm. He just smiled faintly and nodded "The name is Janos Kalpa, but I'd prefer to be called Tsar - an old callsign from back home so... It's kinda stuck." He gave Stellan a quick glance and smirked a bit. "Hate to admit it, but I havn't even heard of the place before it was mentioned today - Havn't really paid any attention to galactic goings on to be honest." As he spoke the explosives expert placed the metal case on the floor and opened it to reveal his pistol and the MGL. "Ah, all of my toys in perfect order."

As Yamesh made his little transmission Janos began immediately check his armor for things that weren't there before. "I swear to god if that damn fellow has tampered with my gear too much I'm going to shove an unpinned grenade so far up his ass that he'll choke to death before blowing up..." He mumbled under his breath. Judging by the slight agitation the man really did not like when people dared to touch his equipment without permission.

Incoming Event: The Dark Drifter

Cadence narrowed her eyes at Mirrah as she spoke, not really knowing what to expect from her. Was she above the order of the council? Who was she? She mentioned that she was here to keep an eye on her progress; the thought of her still being a prisoner crossed her mind. She didn’t realize that the same female Dreshykk who spoke to Maxwell was approaching her now with her clipboard in hand.

“Here to watch me, huh? As in, making sure I don’t slaughter my crew is that it?” Cadence shook her head. “Listen, I don’t care what the Council or the U.S. Military has told you but if they think they can just keep tabs on me even though I am innocent then they’re wrong. I don’t want you on my ship-“she said but was cut off by the Dreshykk.

“My apologies commander but there is something that I am concerned about. There is an anomaly that I would like to investi-“the Dreshykk was cut off as well as the lights around the entire ship went dark and a strange noise that sounded like a huge rusted oil rig came from the outside. It sounded like the screech of a giant monster. Cadence looked around then pointed a finger at Mirrah.

“This isn’t over yet.” She said as she rushed over to Cayne.

“Zarubin get the republic online now!” she demanded but then the voice of the ship itself spoke over the intercom at all crew members presently onboard.

“Warning! Warning! All communications are down” the voice said mentioning every issue one by one, “Laser cannons offline, shields offline, ship controls offline. “

She left Cayne and rushed to Maxwell.

“Can you get us a visual of the ship, Saturn?” she said as she walked over to the intercom button.

“Dyar, Johanson, Akame, Janos, get up here to the command deck, now! Bring your weapons!”

"Already on it Commander. Came outta nowhere that one did." He mumbled and let out a loud sigh when the ship refuses to respond to any controls. He gets up and leans over the control panel and looks outside."Well, I can point you to right direction." He states and does so, pointing towards drifting ship that's barely visible from their current location. Realizing this Maxwel offers Echo his binoculars for better vision.

"Noticed it on a radar just split second ago, then Lightyear went asleep. I'm no expert on this, but I'd safely assume that there's something inside that vessel messing with ours. My solution would be getting rid of it with lasers, buuuuut...." He shrugs and turns to Echo."Waiting your orders Commander. We're stuck here for now. There's just one small thing, we were moving quite fast before the control was lost. This means that unless we get the systems back online soon, we're on a crash course with that thing. I'd say that we'll slam to it within an hour." He steps past her and rubs his chin slowly."One more thing. Before everything went down, I could swear that I heard a whisper in the comms. That could of course be my imagination Commander." He ends his report and stands in wait.

Akame

The alien was acting pretty serious about his stuff and didn't seem like he could handle a small joke. It still made Akame chuckle a little while she walked away from the two towards the changing room. She had met Janos in the dressing room and gave him a warm welcome to the team. Janos replied back to her but he didn't seem as enthusastic as she thought he would be. Well some of them weren't used to the vibe she gave off. That was mostly because they were people of the military or any other kind of special teams, like the one where they are in now. Akame continued on checking all her equipment while she still interacted with the other two from time to time.

The armour seemed fine to her. It was heavy plate armour hold together by a thick leathery kind of material. The armour was air tight so that it could be used as space suit too and also fullfilled its purpose by holding off bullets. It wasn't that strong or anything but it was something where you could move in while carrying it. Akame checked the entire armour over to see if it already had any damage or holes in it but it seemed brand new and tested already. Akame picked up the case and placed it next to Stellan his weapons on the table and opened it by unlocking a high tech digital finger scan. The parts of the weapon were scattered across the case, each and every one of the parts covered in the foam of the case. Akame pulled out every part one by one and carefully placed it together. The weapon was well maintained and still shined like it was bought in the store just now. Her smile only became bigger and bigger once the weapon was complwtly lying on the table "Have never been away much further than our galaxy. I was stationed on mars for a fewyears and now I'm here. Nothing much special if I say so" She gave a bright smile at the two and suddenly pulled her knife out of her side holster just before the lights went out.

Akame quickly pulled out a flashlight from her nearby equipment and turned it to the other two to see that they were fine. The voice of the ship warned them about malfunctioning of the systems and short after the commander ask for them to get to the command room as quickly as possible. Akame immediatly took action and pulled on her armoured suit. She stumbled a little with getting it on by the size of it but eventually began running as fast as she could go with the armour towards the multiple crates filled with components and little gadgets and searched around with her flashlight. She eventually found her second weapon case and quickly assembled all her remaining weapons. She swung her main weapon that was attached to a thick leather strap over her shoulder and pulled her armoured helmet that belong with the suit along with her. She ran towards the command post in a slow but sure tempo and saluted towards the commander with a big smile on her face and her helmet under her arm "Akame Hirasawa reporting for duty commander." Akame put at ease again and looked around her a little to see what was happening to the ship "It's most likely an EMP wave that shut down all the electricity. The reserve generator has something that is basically an EMP protection, the same as in nursing machines. But it's pretty expensive so like just now it won't help much apart from emergency messages and air refinement" Akame angled her head a little while closing her eyes and giving a bright smile at the commander "So what are we doing."

Cayne maintained his station accordingly and cycled through all the channels he could tap into. After the Lightyear had departed, the number of inbound and outbound traffic had dropped sharply until the comms became quiet as the vacuum itself. During that time, Cayne and Pathfinder ran several simulations of monitoring Dreshykk transmissions and any frequencies they could employ that Cayne can pick up on. As the pair went through their tests, Cayne could not help but over hear a Dreshykk crew member conferring with Maxwell at the ship's helm regarding some sort of anomaly and asked if the Lightyear can alter its course to investigate. No doubt an odd request since Maxwel himself wasn't heading the vessel despite flying it.

As expected, Maxwel declined the Dreshykk's query and referred her to Cadence; pity she didn't ask Cayne to look into it. With a shrug, Cayne continued to run his simulations, already nabbing a few tricks with his newer and much more advanced setup. He almost began to question why he never had any of this in the first place while on the field.

Not even more than several minutes later, Cayne and Pathfinder picked up what appeared to be a vague transmission burst. The source appeared hazy but nonetheless, Cayne cycled through all the channels and frequencies to clear up the signal. After nailing the right frequency, Zayne quickly set about recording as much of the transmission as he could into his log. Just as he heard the few sections of the signal, another and much larger surprise came into being. All at once, everything seemed to power down, starting with the overhead lights that illuminated the command deck. Following the power-outage, a visual feed from the main monitor detailed what appeared to be some kind of transport vessel coming into view. Not long after that, Cadence whom was speaking to another individual Cayne had also saw but paid no mind to, came to his side and requested the Republic be informed at once as if she had narrowed this new incident as an attack.

"Getting the Republic on the horn now..."

Suddenly the intercoms boomed in with a situational report, compiling a rather large list of shipwide functions that were now no longer functional, including Cayne's own station.

"...Or not." Cayne could feel Cadence's radiating annoyance as he quickly left his station to Maxwel's helm and made an order over the intercom, wanting his squadmates to come up to the command deck. Armed.

While waiting for the other half of their team to arrive, Cayne up and invited himself into Maxwel's report after the pilot mentioned catching a 'whisper' on the comms before the black out occurred. "Don't think it was your imagination. Me and Pathfinder also pickup something too. Recorded it actually before everything went offline...and before that ship popped up."

Name: Claire Peterson
Age: 24
Weight: 125 pounds
Height: 5'2
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Class: Pilot

Appearance: (Her face claim is Carli Bybel.) Claire is the epitome of what most people would consider a classic beauty. Her body is curvy, with a slim waist and thick legs. She doesn't try to hide this, especially not behind her (just a little) tight uniform. Claire's skin is the color of honey, a tan that's not too overpowering or orange. Her hair is chocolate brown with highlights of mahogany, and it waves gently to the middle of her back. Her heart shaped face is made a bit stronger-looking with her high cheekbones and sharp jawline. Claire's eyes are a gentle blue shade, framed by thick black lashes. Her lips, usually in a pout, are full, and a bit too large for her face.

When she's not on duty, she's usually dressed in tight long-sleeves shirts, jeans, and work boots. Above her left breast, about an inch below her collarbone, is a tattoo of a lotus flower, and on the nape of her neck, a small depiction of the planet Earth - so she can remember her roots.

Personality: Claire has been known to be sarcastic, sharp-tongued, and sassy. Though she may come off as just another high-maintenance prick, she has a real soft spot for her colleagues - though she would never let them know that. When she isn't busy making snide remarks and witty jokes, she tends to keep to herself. Claire has a lot of built up doubt towards herself, but puts off a very confident aura. She rarely begins a fight, but will finish one, if needed. When she's close to another being, she becomes very defensive and cunning. Claire knows what she wants and goes after it - a real go-getter.

Biography: Will be revealed later.

Weapons: Standard issue revolver and combat knife.

Janos got geared up with some difficulty - usually he had someone to help with getting to his suit, but he had also gotten the hang of it to get the damn thing on by himself. He picked up his grenade launcher, holstered his pistol and picked up a case that perhaps housed some explosive components - or even ready made explosives. Then he finally activated his suit's hydraulics and his helmet's targeting and communications HUD. With a little hand movement the explosives expert opened the heavy visor of his helmet that had a stylized skull emblem covering it. "Really wish I'd have more time to calibrate the damn hydraulics of this thing, but guess that can wait." He mumbled to himself while taking a few cautious steps to make sure the suit was working as it should.

Janos' heavy footsteps soon closed in on the bridge. He carried the grenade launcher on his back and had a bandolieer across his chest that housed several color marked munitions for his MGL. "So, what's all this abou..." He cut off his own question as he glanced outside and saw the ship. "...I think it's about that one, yes? So, what's the course of action?"

Yamesh was working on some sort of technological doodat when the lights suddenly went out. He looks around for a second and then shouts a command. "K-1LL! Lights." The droid hovers down from his idle position and illuminates his owner in a ray of light. The Santerian listens to the voice of the ship and ponders. Virus attack? No, would have received warning. Could reverse that. EMP? Droid still online, so unlikely. Dreshykk technology not that advanced, so... unknown entity? Not in range of any known planets, which means ship. Exciting. Probable solution: Boarding and shut down. Should prepare.

He activates his internal communication device and contacts the commander. "Although I was not prepared for a boarding mission, I shall move what equipment we have to the airlock and await the rest of the team there. I do not want them to use equipment they don't even know the basics of. Also, some helmets that are in use are still not up to date, so I need to update them. I have a portable chip with the software, so the team just has to have some patients when entering the enemy ship."

Stellan had just finished checking and re assembling his gear when the lights went out. He sat there for a minute in silence before heaving a heavy sigh. "Typical." He muttered. The flashlight Akame pulled out gave him the light he needed to get out his own flashlight and he nodded to her in thanks. He then turned to his armour and patted it fondly on the arm.

"c'mon old girl, time for some more action." He pulled the armour on with quick efficiency having had to don it quickly many times before. So many times, in fact, that he had lost count. There was always some emergency that had to be dealt with and usually it happened when he had a mouthful of food. He thanked his lucky stars that at least this time he hadn't ended up choking on his sandwich. He quickly fastened the various pieces into place and attached the rocket launcher to its specially designed holder at his side. It was designed for easy access and he checked that he could reach it easily with no obstructions. He then placed his grenades on their belt and fastened it over the armour. Lastly he picked up his assault rifle, slinging the strap over his shoulder, and he was ready to roll out.

He moved quickly from the shuttle bay, his armour making his footsteps sound loud and full of echos in the ship corridor. He moved unerringly to the bridge not stopping to check the rest of the ship. He was sure the crew knew what they were doing and had reacted properly to the emergency. He reached the bridge and moved up beside Akame.

"Ready when you are Ma'am."

Event Active: The Dark Drifter

Time Remaining: 3:00:00

(You will need your breathing helmets.)

The servicemen who worked in the shuttle bay had their equipment and work helmets on, going around the drop ship making sure everything was in order.

“Engines are ok” said one of the men.

“Controls are functional” another man said. “It seems that the only thing that ship shut off was the Lightyear itself. Good thing the intercom is still working, otherwise we wouldn’t know what to do.” He finished.

“Well you know the intercom system has its own generator, so it can operate without the functions of the ship. You’re right, if we didn’t have that with us we wouldn’t know what would be going on right now. Hey and did you hear what Cayne and Maxwell said? They said they heard a strange voice coming through on a transmission…what you think it could be?” one guy asked.

“I don’t know…that does sound pretty strange. I’ve never heard of anything happening like that before. What did they say it sounded like?”

“It sounded like a quiet whisper speaking in a language that isn’t familiar…Let’s just hope the commander and the team are prepared for anything once they board. They have to do it quick too…or else the Lightyear will crash into the ship…”

“I have faith in the commander and the team. They were chosen to join the S.E.U for a reason.”

“I just hope so.” The men conversed amongst themselves then Cadence entered the bay with her equipment and gear equipped.

She carried her M-16 Assault Rifle with single shot and burst fire adjustment that has a red dot laser scope, along with a grenade launcher under the barrel that was attached to the weapon suction on the back of her dark armor that almost had a cybernetic look to it if it wasn't without the ridges among the shoulders and gauntlets. Her desert eagle handgun was in the holster strapped to the side of her waist, four frag grenades and two flash grenades attached to a strap that crossed over her chest and a military knife on the left side of her boot. She wore a black helmet with a clear blue computerized visor. Speaking inside of the helmet will change your voice as if you were speaking through a microphone. It also suppresses your voice so anyone that isn’t meant to hear you won’t. The visor can detect room temperature and can tell if anyone or anything is close by through radar. The helmet also protects you from breathing in hazardous air by filtering out any harmful air and gives you fresh oxygen.

Cadence stepped toward the dropship.

“Is everything prepared and ready to go?” she asked.

“Yes ma’am. The drop ship will get you there ahead of time before the Lightyear collides with the ship. You will have plenty of time to disengage whatever it is that is keeping us on a collision course and our power down. “

“Excellent. We will wait for the crew then we’ll be on our way.” She started to walk away but one of the men stopped her.

“Um…commander…what do you think is down there?” the man sounded a bit nervous.

“I don’t know but whatever it is it won’t be down there for long.” She assured him.

“Thank you commander, I know you all will make it back in one peace.”

Cadence thought about what Cayne and Maxwell said about the strange voice. The council never mentioned anything like this ship before so it was obviously not a high priority. Perhaps they didn’t know about this? Or maybe something else was going down…

The outside vessel was huge. After taking a look through Maxwell’s binoculars she noticed some unique features on the outside of the ship. It was huge and black that almost blended in with the dark space and if it wasn’t for the stars and the strange lights that came from the ship, they wouldn’t have been able to see the vessel in the first place. The ship also had some sparks of electricity along its side as if it previously left a battle and was dangerously beaten but there were no signs of damage. Some parts even had green crystals shining through like it was going to explode and you could see green lights peeping through but it seemed to be just part of the ship. The ship looked like it was alive because you could hear the noise it made due to its massive size. Whatever was inside the ship obviously had technology that was unfamiliar to the crew but they were about to find out.

Commander Echo's reaction certainly lived up to Mirrah's expectation. She was angered at the idea of someone not trusting her. Even more so since it was revealed that it was because of the accusations placed on her from the Past. Add in her current irritation towards the previously stated trouble among her current team, and it stands to reason that she would be angry. Though to make accusations about who had given her the information...maybe something else was bugging her? She had heard that human women had a certain moments where-

Suddenly, the lights were out. Some of the functions that the ship was supposed to provide were not working, and a strange-looking ship screeched outside of their own. A problem arising before their actual first mission had even begun...this did not seem like a good sign for the future. She followed Echo once again, this time to the shuttle bay. Sensing that she was planning to set off with her team to the other ship, Mirrah borrowed a standard-issue breathing helmet. As much as the commander may not have liked her, Mirrah was intent in assisting in solving the problem.

Within moments, the commander's merry members of monstrous mutilation met once more without missing much. Each seemed to have been prepared to face whatever threat the strange ship in the distance may or may not provide. As Echo looked through her comrade's binoculars to see what they were in for, Mirrah joined her, using her Seer vision to get a good look at the ship they would visit. It was very strange to see, even for one such as her, who was still new to space-traveling ships.

Mirrah blinked a few times before turning to face Echo.

"Commander, I hope you understand that despite the Council not mentioning my inclusion in your team, and the fact that I may keep an eye on your actions toward your team, the latter is only a voluntary task derived from rumors I've heard from others. My priority is to assist you and your team to end conflict. As such, I must join you in investigating this foreign vessel."

Cayne had entered into the shuttle bay fully decked in his operational uniform and light exo-skeleton armor, covered in segmented rows of built in sensor nodes and optical camouflage emitters. Since this mission required him to operate in a airless and possible vacuum-like environment where zero-gravity could pose a factor, Cayne's usual military fatigues were replaces with a black body encompassing suit of noticeable thick but surprisingly flexible material refined in layers meant to not only regulate heat but to also allow air to flow when needed and seal any tears or punctures as needed. Much of his hands, joints, and boots featured small magnetized plates and suction nubs that promoted an ensuring ability to stick to any surface in the chance he needed to stay close to a wall or floor, regardless of it's composite makeup. His own operational helmet appearing like the face of a multi-eyed spider had also been modified with a larger respirator encapsulating much of his face to feed the sniper a more quantifiable source of oxygen all the while locking shut to the helmet's sealing mechanisms.

Beside Cayne was an also space worthy modified Pathfinder, now reinforced with tactical plating and an expanded array of sensors and antennas. Possibly the more noticeable modification was the addition of several 360 degree adjustable air nozzles that allowed the drone to navigate in a vacuum environment that would have made it's own props useless. Extra oxygen packs and utility tools could also be found underneath Pathfinder's undercarriage.

Armament wise, Cayne's sniper rifle had been re-augmented with magnetic coils within the firing chamber to help compensate for area with little to no oxygen. Then again, the accelerated coils capitalized on slingshotting a high caliber round at greater range and velocity which would prove helpful if things got dicey quick. Speaking of which, Cayne had also sported a small compact shotgun holstered to his lumbar just in case of a close quarters engagement became too personal. However, it was more likely his own teammates would compensate well before he found a lethal use for the weapon. Plus, it was unlikely ship doors even had joints in this day of age but who could truly guess? To top of his choice of gear, his pistol pistol remained holstered to his right thigh and his combat knight to his left shoulder in the event his ammunition for his two more intimidating firearms were spent or if the need for a silent take down was in order.

As he arrived at the shuttle, Cayne found that Mirrah and Cadence were the first ones to have gotten suited up and ready to begin. However, he was unsure as to how much time the two had actually took to prepare, given the circumstances that Cayne's one equipment was rather fragile and required more time to load up. To say the least, he figured he would have been last one to arrive. Then again, he remembered everyone had their own ways of loading up and preparing to face the unknown, it was just unfortunate he wasn't timing himself; he would have gotten his twenty back from his former instructor.

Upon further inspection, Cayne had realized his commander had been focusing on the strange ship from one of the large view port with a pair of binoculars. He deducted that Cadence was scoping out the derelict vessel for any signs of activity. Figuring it was in his likely mandate as well, Cayne's pulled his visor over his eyes and peared through one of the high-detailed lenses to magnify the picture of the ship for him. Lights from within the vessel fluctuated constantly with brief surges of sparkling energy dissipated from the outer hull were all clearly noticeable to his image enhancing equipment. Like the commander, Cayne too was curious what had happened to the vessel but more importantly, what was on it that zapped the S.E.U Lightyear of all her primary functions? And what was the voice on the comms too?

"Spooky..." announced Cayne, making his presence known, "...Not liking the eerie green lights resonating off of that derelict. If it wasn't for it's mysterious legitimacy, I would have mistaken this as a set for a cheesy B-Horror flick...Too bad the microwave doesn't work in the break room."

(Time nulled until we depart)

Cayne was right about one thing, it did look like it came from a horror flick. The joke he made about the microwave put her at ease. There was no way to contact the republic for reinforcements and they couldnt finish their mission at Xan. Looking over at Cayne she said...

"Perhaps I am jumping to conclusions but how come the council did not wàrn us about this? Before departure they were suppose to make sure the path to Xan was clear...somethings seems off."

Maxwel stood ready for departure. They had got few more hours than he had anticipated. Apparently the ship had slowed down a good bit before the systems went offline. This was good, especially since the ship was clearly unknown to everyone, even Yamesh seemed to be confused about the vehicle. He felt slightly uncomfortable, facing an unknown enemy and/or technology was not the first thing he wanted to do, especially with no intel whatsoever. And that whisper he had heard, it was still haunting his head.

These troubling thoughs clearly did not disturb Max too much as he waited for orders, his gilded, engraved revolver spun and flipped on his hand, glimmering in the dim lights provided by the team's flashlights. He tossed it up a bit and caught again before continuing to spin it and flip every now and then. He was rather comfortable with his fatigues, but the helmet disturbed him slightly, mostly because it was brand new, never had he even seen such a thing before. However, it would have to do, most likely it would not blow up on his face. He tosses the revolver up one last time and let's it fall into it's holster before he lifted up his traditional P90 and made sure it was operational. Funny, if there would be no gravity inside that ship both of his weapons would be utterly useless and he'd have to rely on a knife instead should the need arise. The pilot he had assigned to take his place piloting the Lightyear while they were away had wondered why Maxwel insisted on tagging along. To him Max had simply stated that he was part of the team, but in his own head he knew too damn well that he was mainly after the alien vehicle. Maybe he'd get to fly it out of the way, should it be in a shape for such feat. maybe he could even fly it to their destination and back for inspection. Maybe. He glanced over to Cayne as he arrived and spoke out, personally he wished that everyone would hurry up too because well, he was not comfortable thinking about the slowly but surely approaching crash.

Maxwel was able to join now as well. They needed Max on the field with them to commandeer any vehicles they may run across and possibly the ship in front of them. After telling Cayne about her suspicions of the council she turned to look over at Maxwell and said...

"You think you can fly that thing, Saturn?"

Yamesh appears before the group in a lab coat with underneath it a simple space suit, a table on wheels in his wake. He stop in front of the gathered group and takes off the cloth on the table, revealing all sorts of little gadgets and chips. "Now that we're all here, I can tell you the hows and whats. And since we only have a small amount of time before we're all dead, I'll keep it short." He picks up a chip and looks at it before focusing back on the group.

"The Ostara Republic has outfitted the S.E.U. task force with the most advance technology available to the Seer and humans. The S.E.U. Lightyear is a good example of that. But, it's still not up to par with the technological advancements of the Santerians. That's where I come in. I've modified and tinkered a lot of the equipment you're using and are going to use. Of course I didn't touch any personal weapons or equipment, since I am aware how attached some humans and Seers can get to their stuff..." He rolls with his eyes at the obscene thought of liking an object. He shakes his head and picks up a helmet in one hand and in the other holds a chip. "But for example, most of the helmets and visors you'll be using during missions are now running on Santerian software. This is much faster, preciser and allows for a lot more modifications then human and Seer software. Apart from making sure you can breath in the vacuum of space, the helmet also comes equipped with an internal radar that detects hearbeats, it has several vision modes, like low-light, electromagnetic and thermal and it also allows for multi vision." He puts the chip down and pushes a button on his wrist. Anyone already wearing his helmet would see a small screen pop up on the corner. It showed the group from above. "K-1LL. Descend." The vision in the screen begins to change as Yamesh his droid flies down and hovers on eye level with the listeners. In the little screen the attendants now simply see themselves. "You can all see each others views if you wish. My droid allows this vision as well as I have demonstrated. Cayne's doesn't yet." He picks up another chip from the table and throws it to Cayne. "This is the appropriate software. Don't worry. It'll keep any modifications intact." He puts the helmet down, clearly done with it.

"Next item on the list." The Santerian picks up a flat looking thing. Some might describe it as a pencil case. "Since I am probably the most skilled with computers on this team and can't be everywhere at the same time, I've crafted this useful device. Plug it into the designated console and I'll receive a wireless connection directly linked to my OPSAT." He pushes another button on his wrist and a holographic console pops out. "All the benefits of a normal console and more." And with another button the console fades away.

Then he picks up a slim looking rifle. To the trained eye it would look off. For a starter, there wasn't a visible magazine. "When I left Noshkosh, I didn't leave empty handed. I took with me the designs of the very first laser rifle. Since my departure I've worked tirelessly on it, with help from some other Santerians of course. Luckily I had a prototype ready just in time before we left on the S.E.U. Lightyear. This prototype works with overheating. That means it doesn't have dedicated ammunition. It just needs to cool down after several shots. Also, since it's a Prototype, it's bound to explode. Thus meaning that I'm currently the only one allowed to use it." He puts the rifle on a magnetic holster on his back and equips a slimmer looking helmet specially made for Santerians.

"One last thing." , his voice now being channeled through communications. "Any rare tech you find, you contact me. Don't mess around with it, cause there is only the chance you blow yourself up... Or worse. Now each one of you pick up one of the W.H.D.s and we're good to go. That means the Wireless Hacking Device for those who were about to ask. " And with that said he turns around to the transport, ready to go.
