Is anyone interested in an RP set in the Eragon universe? It would either be set in the war, with us being tied to one side or the other, or it would be set just after the end of the books, with the world adjusting to the way things are.

Rules:
1) As the magic system in this universe is a bit OP, Non-elves will only know 5 words in the ancient language, and elves will either not have magic or will be weak.
2) We can't store magical energy. Maybe we'll learn later, but probably not.
3) We aren't dragon riders or dragons, but we might meet some. Also, we don't have Eldunari, so no getting around that.

Out of curiosity, are we allowed to play as dragons or will they be NPC?

@CandiBarrDepending on when it's set, we might meet some or their riders, but (rule 3) we aren't dragons or riders.

@xxrhooAny ideas on how to make it better?

The magic seems to be very limited, and that was a major draw for me. I don't understand, what would be the plot of the RP? Would we be playing as regular people?

@MeridianRegular people/mages/ex-soldiers/etc. Basically, the collapse of the government plus the return of the dragons, plus all of the races dealing with each other more will throw the world into chaos, with racists, rouge soldiers/mages, and maybe even an evil dragon rider.
As for the magic, it depends on how creative you are. In one of the books they say that a master can say a word, then do something completely unrelated to it, as long as they see a connection.

I personally am no longer interested and feel there is no basis for a plot. I do wish you luck though.

@TheUnknowable"if a dragon dies, than the rider lives, but if a rider dies"

"so does his dragon"

Personally the magic in the books was amazing and pretty well balanced due to the physical limitations as well. As for not being able to be a Dragon or Rider. Thats the biggest draw of this world and if you were to set it after the end of the series it is more than possible for more riders to have appeared. I wish you all the best of luck in your endeavor though.

@Keyblade87We could make one where we were riders, but unless we were just starting off as Riders (maybe we all got chosen at about the same time) we'd be pretty OP compared to everyone else in the world. The only non-rider that could even hold his own against a relatively untrained Eragon was possessed by spirits, unless you count Brom, an ex-rider, who had insane amounts of energy stored up in case he had to fight a rider.

Depending on how the others want to do this, I could start an RP for either.
