I say if you're starting off, that would be a good idea until you get the basics or at least have some people willing to call out what you're doing wrong. I've had some experience with a few fighters, one named Lyzan and a bit of help from another
@Tearstone. Personally for me, I like mixing normal rping elements with arena elements for when conflicts happen. Which from what has been said about the multiverse in the arena, is what it does. I could be misunderstanding it again.
One thing I want to do, when I get a free space for rps again, is to revamp Lyzan's old idea about a gladiator area and maybe make it a branch off of the multiverse. Lyzan basically made a normal rp thread in advance with a story line then each time a fight happened (only for the arena people) there would be an intro post with a link leading back to the arena. That's where the scene would continue though instead of being guaranteed you would live, your PC ran a risk of dying even from NPCs and that was a bit fun. It never got very far sadly.
