Zordon, an alien White Ranger from another time and galaxy, crash landed on Earth after imprisoning Rita Repulsa and her minions on the moon one hundred years ago in the year 1915. Aging more rapidly on Earth, Zordon's robotic assistant Alpha 5 helped to preserve his essence within the technology of their crashed ship/HQ. A routine moon landing in 2015 saw the release of Rita and her goons and soon a battle for the planet had begun. Zordon chose five teenagers to fight for the fate of the world against Rita and her forces. Now, two years after becoming Rangers it's time for them to ascend. The first of us to rise to another level of power will become the Dragon Ranger. From that point it'll get really interesting. The Blue Ranger can ascend to either Unicorn or Pegasus, the Yellow can become Griffin or Qilin, the Pink can become the Firebird, and Black the Lion. This is loosely based on what they get in terms of Thunder Zords. In that era the Red Ranger got the Red Dragon Thunderzord, however if the Red doesn't ascend to the Dragon they get whatever options the Ranger would've had who does become the Dragon. So potentially we could have a Red Lion, a Black Dragon, a Blue Pegasus...

This cuts out the Green Ranger and the White Ranger. I know that's gonna bum somebody out but the idea any color Ranger can become the Dragon Ranger and be the heavy hitter is a lot more interesting from my point of view. The CS for this will be a bit different than most of my other RPs, and you also get to add your own favorite villains into the mix.

Also, obviously the Red Ranger and Yellow Rangers' genders don't have to be switched. Though I do ask whoever goes with Pink remains a female. The last male Pink Ranger was underwhelming. Also, depending on who I choose to become the Dragon, whomever is the Red Ranger would have to take one for the team and be whatever the Ranger who becomes the Dragon would've had. I'll take the Red spot if need be, though the Dragon could be seen as the new leader and not just the big gun of the team if the player wants. The Blue Ranger and the Yellow Ranger also get special treatment since the American versions differed from the Sentei. Blue can become either Unicorn or Pegasus, and Yellow can become the Griffin or Qilin.

Rita Repulsa will be around the Rangers' age in terms of maturity even if she's a few hundred years old. I always imagined her looking more like this:



Her putties will also resemble a version of an old Batman enemy called Clayface. They'll be more monstrous and able to shape their appendages into weapons:



The broader theme of the series will be somewhere in the middle between the classic show and that more graphic fanfilm that's got James Van Der Beek as the badguy. There will probably be less focus on the Zords until we ascend. I always thought it was odd these kids were in school one minute and the next they were piloting skyscraper sized robots without training?!? When we get the Zords I URL'ed up top, that's when we'll fight giants. Looking for just four more players to round out the cast and get things moving!

I didn't go for the Dragon Ranger slot because I personally think it would be more interesting for one of the other members of the team to pick it up, allowing for a sort of mid-season dynamic shift where they either take up co-leadership of the team or succeed the Red Ranger as the leader. All of that is just plot speculation/random planning though. Your thoughts?

Yeah with the Zords taking a backseat, with whomever getting the more snake like Dragon Thunderzord when they ascend first among us... they get that so they can go into the Zord's warrior mode and defeat the giant threats until the rest of us ascend to form the final Thunder Megazord. It can take the rest of us any amount of time to ascend. Not making it all happen at once is the main plot twist, and nobody really having Zord experience.



It'll just kinda come naturally with the Dragon Ranger and having a Warrior mode.



Screw it, I'm gonna go ahead and start working up a sheet for the Black Ranger and shoot for Dragon if nobody else wants it.

Background/Brief Bio - Adam traveled a bit as an Army brat, his father having met his mother while he was stationed over seas. Upon returning to America, namely Angel Falls, Adam found himself as well as four others in the secret location of the elder Zordon. Being a Ranger was the best thing that ever happened for Adam, finally stepping out of his father's shadow and becoming his own man. On his 18th birthday, after being a Ranger for a year he started thinking about getting a tattoo but hasn't yet. He's very strong willed, and a skilled gymnast and martial artist. He began sketching Dragonball Z characters a lot in school in Korea, and is a big fan of anime and manga in general. He generally doesn't let his nerd side show and usually keeps to himself.

Villain of Choice -

Deadwood. Cool name, ghost powers AND plant powers. Can't contain how awesome that is.

Background/Brief Bio - The youngest of three brothers, Danny tends to go along with whatever plan someone has come up with. In fact this very tendency is how he ended up in Zordon's base. He doesn't exactly like being a Ranger due to the risks involved but he feels it's too important a task to back out. He isn't a great martial artist, and while fighting mostly relies on his weapons, but he is not terrible either and he has been training for the last year.

What differences would there be for the rp between the Griffin or Qilin if any?

@Duthguy Well IDK if the Rangers got new melee weapons but that's an option. There's also the micros I'm making for this which will have new helmets based on whichever mythical creature you choose. I've already finished them all with variations on Blue and Yellow, just waiting for the game to begin to see who becomes the Dragon.

Personality - To use a single word would be Feline. Her personality is something of an enigma she is warm one moment and cold the next. She is willing to sacrifice one to save thousands. If the world will be a better place she doesn't care who she pisses off doing it. She is a survivor.
Background/Brief Bio - She grew up bouncing through the foster system she had some good and some bad. Eventually she bounced into angel falls. There she ran away tired of the bouncing and in her hiding she wound up in a chamber with 4 other teens. There was some interesting things revealed. Now she lives out of an abandoned warehouse office. Working at a local cafe. Her talents are finding ways to reach hard places.

if you'll have me, I'd like to join the Rangers. I haven't seen a whole lot of Rangers but I love the idea all the same and I LOVED Jungle Fury so much. I don't know a whole lot about the other series but I can just look up any gaps in my knowledge.

EDIT: Also just noticed the word of another person wanting the blue ranger spot so if push comes to shove then I'm fine with being kicked to the curb.

Personality - Can be a bit introspective at times, and a complete extrovert others. (the best definition would be ambivert) She is very loving, and compassionate to those in need and to her friends. She is slow to trust, but once that trust is gained she will be fiercely loyal.

Background/Brief Bio - Kimley has practiced gymnastics since she was 8 years old on the insistence of her mother, though her true interest lies in her music and art. She is a very impulsive person, at the disdain of her parents who have tried to mold her into the perfect debutante. Though in her heart she wants to please her parents, Kimley's real dream is to run away to New York and be an actress on Broadway. She is also quite the bookworm and reads everything she can get her hands on, from classic to modern literature. (Anything to escape the real world her parents have created for her) She rebels against her parents in any way possible, on of those being changing her clothes every morning in the girl's bathroom from dainty school girl into more edgy clothes.
