Excuse me while I copy my first post from the old thread, because it's just too good.
Alright, so my post is set on a rainy morning, so naturally, I went out to go find some rain sounds, I found a website and decided to check out how it sounds and after listening to it for a few minutes, I already feel oppressed.
Expect a post within 24 hours.
I am thinking of giving my nations some flying infantry, too.
Partial'y derived from their relations with Avalia, albeit they find the basic concept ridiculous.
What with soldiers restricted to fight in underpants.
Also for Yllendthyr's speed demons propellers are too slow.
So instead they use jetpack troops.
Coming in the next winter!

The entire reason Fuso and Izuno are using flying infantry from Avalia is that they don't have airships and thus use them to combat airships.
Its seen as a more honorable approach to sky fighting since floating around in airships just doesn't have the charm of honorable man to man fighting that dogfighting in a plane or flying warriors do.
I originally wanted them as a balance since I lack airships. Thus I'm going to advocate not letting you have them since you already have airships.
Besides, having women fight in their underwear (or less as is the case in Fuso), is quite an effective distraction tactic against enemy pilots
Also, balloons used to scare the shit out of Fusan civilians who saw them as which craft and black magic
<Snipped quote by Willy Vereb>Jetpacks are actually far more realistic than the aircraft engine legs.
Only one flying infantry bullshit per RP.
<Snipped quote by Willy Vereb>Well, I'm not sure if it works for fighting airships. Albeit it'd be better at that than say facing off against propeller craft with any competitive speed.

On the other hand flying infantry would be a small and nimble target which can quickly change directions. that can help albiet the lack of heavy weapons would not.
Boarding or planting bombs is your best bet with them, IMO.

Not to mention they're two sides of the same coin.
It's like allowing T-34 tanks but banning Shermans for the other side.
Not to mention this is something I'd do after realizing having flying infantry isn't too bad.
Again, I'm going to tell you the same thing I told the other guy who brought up realism. Its not supposed to be realistic, I'm saying no for balance. What happened? That'd be my exact question. Jeez, nobody is complaining about the lack of realism. But this along the fact jetpacks are plenty popular of early 20th century fiction are points why we can have them.
This is supposed to be an RP where real world logic is loosely translated into practicality. Do you think anyone would use such things in the real world? Hell no but that's why we have them here since we can pull this shit off and not have to worry if they're realistic or not.
Also as I've said before, you have airships, I see the Striker units as a force that makes up for them but each have their own pros and cons. Think musketeers vs skirmishers in AOE3, both are good infantry units, but they're meant for different things but neither one is any better than the other in most cases.
Also, why the sudden change of heart to flying infantry? You seemed pretty happy with your current army up until now. What happened?
@Willy Vereb
Wait, if you don't want them then why mention them?
