And since replicants provide free labor for every corporation imaginable, poor people can't get hold of jobs. No wonder then that crime's up like never before since it's the only chance for humans of lower social standing to carve out a living for themselves.
Enter our characters - the anti-heroes of this tale. We'll start out as nobodies, thugs for hire who's living on the streets. Initially we'll fight for survival, doing the dirty work of the bosses. But, as time goes by, we'll build up resources and reputation to the point where we can begin scoring serious hits against the Man. And when we've done that, who knows - we might just become bosses ourselves.
