Zandrea cocked her head head upwards she seemed to wonder the same thing that Leilah just asked "maybe it is the view he enjoys" she placed her hands around her mouth and yelled up "Friend Syrax what are you doing? if you wish for a view the living area Leilah and myself just procured will surfice" she could fly up there or even climb but that would be breaking the rules and she was unsure if Leilah could do the same, so she stayed on the ground looking up.

"oh hay girls." Syrax said and jumped down off the wall, landing while not gracefully, at least with some dignity. "I was just having a look round. Wondering why they need a wall" he explained and smiled. "So, where would you like to go first?" he asked, no clue where to begin him self.

Leilah was somewhat impressed when Syrax lept down and managed not to fall flat on his bum. She found herself pondering for a moment as well when he mentioned the wall before shrugging. "Well, walls that high generally have one of two purposes and it's not just 'decoration.' They're trying to keep us in... or something else out, I'm sure."

Again she stretched her arms above her head before clasping her hands behind her back, once more fiddling with the ring on her left hand as she thought. Where to go was an excellent question. "Well, how about we take a look around for the right buildings for class, then the main courtyard, and then head toward the dining hall?"

Zandrea watched and listened "knowing where we must go tomorrow may be the best idea, then we won't be lost when we need to be on time" zandrea stepped to the wall and placed her hand on the stone running her hand along them the castle where I am from had very high walls so I see them as protection as well as a prison"

"At a guess? I'd say its both, to keep us in, and to keep whatever is out there, out." Syrax said and stretched, his back cracking lightly "I guess exploring the class rooms it is" he said. he checked a small map he'd been given at the start and started to walk, half expecting the girls to keep up with him. "Can I ask you girls a question?" he said, turning on his heel and walking backwards. he was starting to get confused about how this had all come to pass as it had all happened in rapid succession.

"This is my first time behind them really. Walls like this, but probably." Leilah shrugged. She followed when Syrax began to walk, musing over the fact that she was already interacting with people that were total strangers just a couple hours before. She had nearly come up to walk along side him when he turned on his heel to walk backwards in front of them. She shortened her stride a little to drift back so she could see him. A small smile played across her features, "You may ask, on my part at least. Though I won't promise an answer until I hear the question. Unless that was the question?"

Zandrea was walking behind them both but still close making them seem like a walking triangle "I do not hide much, your question would get a truthful answer from me" as they walked her eyes would peer to the top of the wall every so often, it was reflex if she was out during the day she was used to seeing her family in stone ontop of walls like these, these walls seemed naked, after looking back to the others she wrapped her arms around herself her white bangs hanging over her eyes.

" what made you sit next to me?" he asked, stretching his arms and smiling at them. "also, if you ever see me shifting towards my monster form, run." He added almost on instinct, remembering the last time that sort of fury had been let lose.

"Empty seat close by where I already was." Leilah shrugged, golden eyes regarding him with some unreadable thought at his second remark. She twisted her hip-length silver hair around one hand before releasing it to fall down her back and out of her way and then dropping her hands to her sides. "It seemed a safe enough place to sit in a room full of entirely unfamiliar faces. So I guess your answer from me is simply chance."

Zandrea tilted her head "the honest answer is...you sat next to me" and in another rare scene she smiled again like she did when she put her name on the room they picked out "I do not wish to be scared of either of you, true form or not.....you are my friends now...but if you wish for me to run...i will" she knew in a school for monsters she was rather low on the totem pole gargoyles were not very powerful compared to others

"Its not a case of being scared, more being safe" he said and smiled turning back round and slowing down for two steps to walk between them. "so anyway, how do you think the year will go?" he smiled at both of them. "I honestly hope it'll go without much incident and without any majour upsets." he sighed softly. rubbing his head "kinda lame but still."

"I would prefer the 'lame.' It makes life easier." Leilah replied more to herself than the others it seemed, fiddling with her ring once again at the thought of any kind of incident or major upset occurring during the school year. Her gaze flashed to Syrax, briefly reverting the conversation back, "If you are a danger in your true form, I cannot agree to stay away."

when zandrea heard Leilah selfless remark about not staying away she felt weak, she did not know Leilah's powers nor what she was could do with them but they were most likely more then what she could do. "why not let us know of the danger we might be in...I do not wish to see Leilah, you nor myself in any danger" her hand once again felt the cold stone of the wall they walked beside, it was then she the feeling of being weak made her want to take off her ear rings and turn to stone for the day and hide.

"Utter annihilation, Devastation of body, mind and soul. My true form is part demon, part dragon, all rage, you know those kids who torture puppies for fun? He's kinda like that except without getting distracted and enough power to turn a city to ashes." he sighed and looked at his hand. "Only real upside is he only comes out when I'm about to be knocked out or killed. but he dose not distinguish between friend and foe, only those in his way and those not." He looked at Zandrea and put a hand on her shoulder. "I do not wish to see either of you in danger either, and that is why I ask this. I don't doubt that if you had the choice you'd try and help me from doing anything I'd regret and that is why I ask you to stay back. I think what I'd regret the most is ever injuring one of you." he glanced at Leilah, "You see, The reason I ask you to at-least stay back is the fact I don't want my other form to set his sights on you." he shook his head "Enough on such a dark topic. what sort of lives did you live outside of school?" he asked brightening up a little.
