"Now Miss Simmons. Please tell me your profession."

"I'm a model for large companies, and local businesses here in Miami."

"Is one of your employers Mister King?"

"Yes, sir. He is."

The court room was full of people. The sun shined through the windows. The judge sat on his chair, while staring at the young lawyer. Jason Hunt wore a black suit, and dark red tie. His hair was gelled in a messy, yet perfect way. His dark green eyes studied the young woman being questioned. She was an extremely attractive red head, wearing light makeup, and a fashionable jacket with matching outfit. Jason was in the middle of a case. His client wanted to get money to pay for his car after getting in a rear end crash he caused.

"So you're the one who is in this video, that is played often on a buildboard throughout the city?" Jason asked. Miss Simmons nodded, looking at Jason. "Yes, that is correct." "And Mister King makes you do these seductive, sexy moves to make his mattress store more appealing?" Jason asked. "I... suppose, yes." Jason nodded. "Could you please demonstrate some of these moves here right now?" Jason asked innocently, looking over at the opponent's bench, the round, balding man, known as Jeff King, owner of King's Mattress(very original, Mister King...), moved uncomfortably in his chair. Miss Simmons hesitated as well. "Well... first i would..." She started taking off her jacket to reveal a revealing black tanktop, the crowd gasped, some laughed. The judge slammed down his mallet. "Miss simmons! I must ask you to stop!" He screamed.

"Don't stop." Jason said, leaning up to her ear, giving her a wink as he walked towards the jury. The court went crazy as Miss Simmons started to undress herself. It took a minute for the officers in the room to escort her out.

"Mister Hunt, I really hope you had a purpose for that side show... You've already tried my patience many times before..." The judge said. Jason had an act of completing cases with wild and crazy ways. "Of course, Your Honor... So, I as we learned from Miss Simmons, she..." Jason trailed off, looking concerned for a second. He snapped his fingers, looking up to the sky. And with a shrug, he looked at the jury. "I completely lost my train of thought. Can the stenographer please tell me what i said last?" He asked her. The woman looked down. "I can't, sir..."

Jason raised his eyebrows, looking at the jury. "Why's that?" He asked her. "I didn't write down what you said... i was distracted by the events happening..." The woman admitted. Jason nodded, then turned back to the jury. "See? If the stenographer can't even do her job in court when she saw this, why do we think people can keep their eyes on the road with that playing every five minutes?" He asked them. "No further questions, Your Honor." Hunt said, taking his seat next to his client, giving him a large smile.
"Thank you so much, Mister Hunt!" His client exclaimed, giving him a firm handshake outside the courtroom. "Its my pleasure, Mister Hanson... and since we won, my pay is half off." He said sincerely. The man smiled even bigger, cheering a bit. "I can't do that, Sir! I will pay you fully! Thank you again!" With one last handshake, he took off. Jason smiled. It was time to relax. He spent sleepless nights working on that case. He took his briefcase, and made his way out of the courthouse, wanting to sit down and relax in his new apartment.

Its been only a couple weeks since he asked some of his close friends if they wanted to live with him in a large apartment. So far it was great. Jason jumped in to his camero convertable, putting on some sunglasses, and loosening his tie. He started up the engine, and made his way out of the court parking lot, and to downtown Miami, to reach his apartment.

Roberto was sat uncomfortably in a taxi. He had just got off a plane from New York and was on his way to Jason's apartment, where he was planning to live until he got his music career off it's feet and was earning enough to repay his friend. He sighed, glancing to his guitar beside him - it was the only thing, except for the clothes on his back (which were very basic; Old blue jeans, a plain black t-shirt, black sneakers and an unzipped burgundy hoodie) and his wallet, that he had brought with him. Everything else he had sold before he made the move south.

"First time in Miami?" The driver asked cheerfully, glancing back at Roberto with a grin on his face.

Roberto nodded. "Yeah. Nice place."

"Sure as hell is," the driver turned his attention back to the road. "Well, I reccomend you go watch Miami Heat, if you're in to sports..." the driver began to ramble on about various tourist locations, Roberto did not pay too much attention but gave the occasional nod and grunt so to not seem rude.

Eventually, they reached the street that Jason's apartment was on. Roberto handed the taxi driver his pay and slipped out of the taxi, his guitar case swung over his shoulder. After closing the door and watching the taxi race away, Roberto turned his attention to the building he would be living in. Safe to say, it was one of the nicest places he had ever seen. He'd never seen a home more desirable.

He'd contacted Jason earlier that day, who'd said that he would meet him around now after coming home from work, so to let him in to the apartment and give him a key. He leant against the wall and looked up the sky. He didn't really know what he was doing here. His life was a bit of a mess and had been for many years. His only option was to try and stay positive, and hopefully, having friendly people around him would offer that.

He heard the roar of an engine and glanced over in it's direction. He noticed a slick convertable driving towards him. He glanced inside to see Jason, who was donning a pair of sunglasses. He waved to his friend casually, approaching the car as Jason parked. "Hey," Roberto smirked, speaking with a noticable Spanish accent. "It's been a while."

Anna had already moved into the apartment, moving most of her well needed possessions as quick as possible. As a matter of fact, she was probably one of the first to move in. It was a nice change of scenery the place was large, tidy and well kept. Quiet too when absolutely nobody was around, so that was marvelous as well. With the hours she worked, hopefully it will be quiet most of the time.

For someone that lived in small homes and apartments, it was somewhat unnerving with so much space. The again she shouldn't have to worry if she's living with 7 other people to fill up most of the open space. She shook her head, and made all these trivial worries filter out of her mind and shooting out the ears. With a somewhat contented sigh, she sprawled her limbs out further on the carpeted floor of the apartment. Her hair did the same, messy waves of dark brown hair lounged out. The hot climate demanded she be in thin clothing, and she went along with its demands. Only with a thin sweater that still did no good, and baggy shorts that allowed ventilation. She should be catching up on her sleep, but no she lay there staring at the ceiling. Faint dark bags hanging from her eyes.

The phone on her chest laid face up, and if it could it would probably be in the same position she was in. Earphones sat inside her ear, faintly singing music to her. Her blinks were slow and exhausted, she was exhausted. Yet, she continued to procrastinate even her sleep. Speaking of procrastinating, she needed to finish her poem. With the music blaring in her ears, she couldn't hear the roar of a familiar engine.

Valentino fit him like a glove.

Dressed head-to-toe in a three piece suit only a man of his stature and status could effectively pull off, much less afford. Holden knew what it took to look good and his hour in the bathroom that morning at precisely 5:30 A.M. was an hour well spent. Hair swept back into the breeze, smelling of a scent not many could describe, but only ascribe to him—an almost sweet, yet fervent sent that assaulted the nose with as much gusto as he could muster up in a day. People liked it, as from the obvious stares up and around his office, small by design only because he was interning, but still fit for a king. The suit and vest clung to him like his own skin, perfectly tailored most likely somewhere in the expansive tourist hotspot of Italy and paraded off on the runways of Milan. It wasn't flashy, just eye-catching in the way it fit him: quite naturally, like a second skin. The polka dot tie that he always favored was tucked in place beneath the dark blue vest, front end tails popping just slightly over the silk trousers. The coat lay behind him, hanging loosely from the office chair he sat on.

Distress was clearly knitted across his visage. It was nearing the end of the day, all of his finished paperwork piled high in one stack, neatly placed in a container labeled, 'Finished.' A few people, namely the doctors and researchers he worked under, had dropped by to visit, make sure he wasn't slacking off; they never found him, in this setting, anything but diligent. Now, however, with everything finished, he sat wringing his hands through his hair, with his phone cupped against his ear. His mother, Vivian, decided today was a great day to check up on her youngest son, explaining something about a wedding. His wedding? No, he wasn't in any relationship.

Her wedding.

"Mother, I don't think I have time to talk about this," Holden said as his one hand fell to knead at his thigh. She continued, having not heard a word he said. There was no stopping that woman once she began, regardless of where she was—at that moment, around various friends, probably poolside with martinis high in their hands. There was no cause for celebration and she didn't make it out to seem that way either.

Standing from his perch, Holden tugged at his coat and flung it over his arm. Letting his eyes fall for a second, as his mother crowed on, he let out an irritated sigh. Vivian wouldn't let up. Seemingly lost in their conversation, though, Holden made his way out, completely ignoring anything out of the environment his mother subconsciously trapped him in. They had that much control, even over the phone; precisely the reason he never attempted to contact them. It was evident in his lost gaze and the rigid way he held himself, adhering to his mother's every beck and call and hating every bit of it. His coworkers took the hint, misunderstanding the call for something urgent. His mother's flings were anything but urgent.

The Audi parked along the curb, sitting posh and polished, was indeed his, alongside various types of cars that, no doubt, spilled unwanted secrets of wealth into the public space they were kept. He flung the door open and slid in, not saying a word as he listened to Vivian's ramblings, now on the topic of his love life. It was, more or less, something he didn't like discussing with anyone in his family, mother, father, fucking cousin, for that matter. But, she was relentless. Holden only stopped what he was doing when the line went silent.

"Well? Are you finding anyone in Miami?" Vivian's voiced crackled to life from the speaker as she repeated her question.

Another sigh.

The engine roared to life, periodically drowning out any further prodding from his mother. Holden effectively made a trailblazer out of his car, revving the entire vehicle to life as it took off without a moment's notice. The hum died down as it stabilized, once again opening the way for more incessant question and interrogation from a very needy and high-maintenance woman. He still hadn't answered the question and was more than tempted to hang up. She would call back until he answered.

"Not yet," he breathed, swallowing hard.

"Well, I hear Roslin's son, Charles, was single..." there she went again, bringing up some guy from who knows where, attached to who knows what esteemed family name, and with who knows how much money. He could have killed himself and he would have gladly done it if it weren't a simple phone call. Who was he kidding? Any call his parents made were anything but simple and both would have likely scoffed at the garish moniker. Already in a daze, Holden slipped the car into his usual parking spot, right behind Jason's, and stepped out to be greeted by one familiar face and another, newer one. He actually didn't pay any attention, still held to the tiny device in his hands. She was back onto her wedding, supposedly planning it with him there, on the other side of the country.

If Holden had any say as to how he looked, it'd be a hot mess, but that didn't stop the obvious stares from the random passerby. His hair simply looked slightly more tousled and he strode with less of a purpose and more of a lull. His eyes, however, were prey to his emotions and, more often than not, showed exactly how vulnerable he could get, this moment being no different. He made a cursory glance to the side, eyeing the newcomer with no real motivation, but landing on Jason with a silent plea for help. Of course, he would have never taken any help from either of the men, but he stopped in front of the door, staring blankly at the Spanish male beside him.

Her words stung. They bore into him like a thousand tiny little pinpricks.

"When are you going to stop your games, Holden," she had said all to clearly, "and be more responsible. Running off like this wasn't how we raised you. You're going no where in life..." Her words trailed off into static.

After what seemed like an hour, Holden shook his head and entered the building. "I don't need this," he mumbled into his phone, "Is this why you called? To goad me into another argument over something I've taken a clear stand on? That's not happening; I hope you and whatshisface have a wonderful three years together. Don't forget to sign your actual last name on the prenup, this time, the one with all the damn hyphens. And tell dad what you always do."

He hung up, a deep sigh escaping his lips as he moved into the actual apartment, hands dragging across his face in utter defeat. Phone calls to parents always ended like that. All he needed was a nice glass of whatever Jason had stashed in the kitchen, beer, wine, whiskey, whatever he could find in the cabinets. It was still a little early to be drinking, but it wasn't like he intended to later drop dead on the couch, shit-faced and whining about his family issues. No one needed to hear Holden complain and no one usually staid long enough for his high pitch whine to fully reel them into a situation they would always regret.

Two shot glasses filled with hard liquor downed in a second flat. Holden leaned himself against the counter, waiting quietly for the rest of his makeshift family to shuffle into the house. He'd left the door open and somehow thrown his coat into the corner, which would nag at the back of his mind until he took care of it. The nagging, however, was slightly dulled by the alcohol he had just downed and the burn it left in the back of his throat.

Miami seemed like the best possible outcome and, despite the forlorn gaze into the nearest window, actually made him quite content. Aside from the nasty phone calls.

Lucas was thankful for the sunglasses. The sun reflected off of the shiny aviators as he reclined on the pool chair. He watched as two of his neighbors walked past. The two girls five doors down from his, living off their parents' money no doubt, chatted with one another as they looked for a good spot to lay out and tan. Though Sandra, the taller full-figured brunette, had initially drawn his eye upon moving in, he hadn't quite conquered that mountain yet. Janine, the green-eyed blonde, however he'd gotten to know really well a few days ago. Fighting to suppress a smirk, Lucas pulled his attention from the passing female forms in bikinis back to the book in front of him. He loved Miami.

He couldn't thank Jason, an old friend from elementary school, enough for the opportunity. Ever since they'd become friends, Jason had been supporting him in everything. Though it wasn't often that Lucas doubted his direction in life, Jason was the first one outside of his family who he could talk to. Though they'd had less contact with each other ever since they went to separate colleges, they always made some time to catch up. Now there was this. The best act of friendship. Though it was a little bit difficult fitting in with the rest of Jason's college crew at first, he was starting to find his place. He had set up as a freelance writer for now, until he could find a more permanent institution to work for. He has just finished up his first proposal today, ready to be delivered to the grantor in person the next day. In order to relax before the appearance, he'd given himself the rest of the day off at the pool.

He checked his phone, noting that it was about the time for everyone to get home. He closed his book and stood up, drops of water form his still wet shorts falling onto the concrete. He pulled his blue tank back over his head and slipped his flip flops back onto his feet. Tossing his towel over his shoulder, he began walking towards the gate, past the girls reclining. He gave them a smile and quick greeting, pleased to get a smile in return.

The sound of his flip flops slapping the floor echoed as he approached the door to the apartment. He walked through the already open door to find Holden leaning against the counter with an open bottle next to him.

"Uh everything all right, man?" he asked, not sure what to make of this. He walked over to the refrigerator and grabbed a pitcher of lemonade. He walked over the counter and poured himself a glass. Not expecting to get an answer from Holden just then he just continued, "We getting started early today then?" He laughed a bit and took a drink from his cup.

Nick sat in the back of the limo although for someone riding in a limo he was far from relaxed. One he was in a limo Nick was gonna rent a car to get to the station, but his boss had his limo pick him up. Two wearing a suit and tie wasn't the most comfortable thing he owned. He wanted to be in a pair of Nikes, blue jeans and his favorite Batman T-Shirt. Lastly he was the new kid in school in terms of being at WXQR the awkward adjustment phase and so on. The one thing he was looking forward to was seeing Jason & Holden again. It had been a couple of years since he saw them and they were two of the best friends he ever had. If it wasn't for them Nick would've never made it through the break up with Jennifer in college. Sure they e-mailed, facebooked, and skyped every so often and played Fantasy Football on line but living with them was on a whole different scale. Not to mention he had to admit it; he missed his mom.

Nick took in the skyline of Miami and was just in awe of everything. Yeah he had seen DC more than a few times, but those were Government Buildings and things that always showed up on tourist shows. This city had a whole different vibe and energy that Nick had never felt before.

Just then the limo driver buzzed the intercom and said, "We're approaching the Fleming Building Mr. Dawson."

Nick just looked at the intercom and then pushed a button and said, "Thank you, and it's Nick please you say Mr. Dawson I'm expecting to see my dad and he's been dead for over 16 years. Thank you."

The limo came to a stop and within a matter of seconds the driver was opening the door. Nick got out with a folder in hand and looked around and shook his head. He said, "We are not in Kansas anymore Toto."

The driver chuckled when he said that and Nick looked back at him. He said, "Oh sorry I don't know how much to tip you. I ummmm....."

The driver said with a smile, "No tip is necessary Nick. My name is A-J welcome to Miami." The two men shook hands and A-J said, "Lighten up Nick you already got the job. Just enjoy it now."

Nick smiled for the first time since he set foot in Miami and said, "Thank you A-J." A-J tipped his cap to Nick and said, "Go on in and knock 'em dead. I'll be here when Mr. Silva calls to come and get you."

Nick nodded and headed into the office building that seemed to tower over the rest of the city. He approached the front desk and the security guard looked up and Nick said, "Hi Nick Dawson here to see Bob Covington of WXQR." Just then someone was right next to Nick and said, "Well nice to finally put a face to the name." Nick looked over at a gentleman with white hair and a goatee in a blue t-shirt black jeans and biker boots. He stick his hand out and said, "Bob Covington nice to see you Nick. Just call me Bob-O."

Nick returned the handshake and said, "Nice to finally meet you to Bob-O."

Bob-O said, "That's your paperwork I'm assuming,"

Nick replied, "Yeah got all the tax forms filled out and all that jazz." Bob-O motioned for him to give him the files. Once Nick did he gave them to the security guard and said, "Call Jeanine in H-R tell her get cracking on processing these forms a-s-a-p."

The Security Guard nodded and began to make his phone call. Bob-O motioned to Nick and said, "Come on let's go introduce you to the rest of the crew," The two men walked to the elevator and began their ride to the 25th floor. Bob-O said with his head shaking, "Nice suit and tie," Nick looked and said, "Well I'm just trying to make...." Bob-O interrupted and said, "a good first impression. Nick you got the job already no need for that stuff. One thing we pride ourselves on in this place besides doing the best job that we can for a more than generous and gracious owner is to be ourselves." Bob-O looked at Nick closely and said, "So the first chance you get lose the suit and put your earring back in."

The elevator doors opened and the two men exited as a beautiful auburn haired receptionist said, "Bob-O Mr. Silva said he'd be here in the next ten minutes to talk with Nick for a few moments. He's on his way to Dallas for final negotiations with Mr. Arronson about next season."

Bob-O nodded and said, "Okay thanks Emily." Emily looked at Nick and said, "Welcome to WXQR Nick. Don't be afraid to dress down." Nick replied with a smile, "Thank you. I'll try to remember that."

The next few moments were spent with Bob-O showing Nick around the studios, the offices, and the production rooms explaining to him how things were done at WXQR until they finally ended up in Bob-O's office. Bob-O opened up a mini-fridge and asked, "Care for a drink?"

Nick replied, "Bottled water if you got it." Bob-O got him his water and motioned for Nick to have a seat. Nick sat down and Bob-O said, "Okay Nick gave you the ins & outs of this place now for some unwritten rules. One Mr Silva is a gracious and good man. If he believes in you he will back you all the way, but don't mistake his kindness for weakness. I've seen him destroy careers of people who were in this business for 10+ years. Two Mike Brooks the midnight guy he thinks he should've gotten your job and our intern Michelle Springer should've gotten his job. They're seeing one another and Mike is a snake in the grass he's gunning for my job. Although he doesn't know that I know about that or that he's covering for a lot of Michelle's mistakes in the production room. I can't prove it all yet but when I do he's gone and so is she, but don't worry about it stay close to me and I'll watch your back. We keep him here because he does a good job but sooner or later that talent is gonna write a check he can't cash. Lastly kinda told you this one but I'll repeat it; be yourself. I liked your air-check tape your references were solid. We want you here not an impression."

Nick took a gulp of his water and said, "I won't let you down Bob-O."

Just then there was a knock at the door and Bob-O said, "It's open." In walked a middle aged gentleman wearing an Armani suit and slicked back hair. Bob-O stood up and Nick did as well. The gentleman with a thick Italian accent said, "I hope I'm not interrupting anything." He turned to Nick and stuck his hand out and said, "Fred Silva nice to meet you Nick."

Nick replied, "Likewise sir." Silva said, "It's Fred your part of the crew now. Welcome to Miami. Sorry I have to keep this brief I'm on my way to Dallas we're about to complete a deal to become the flagship station for The Miami Heat for the next decade."

Nick replied, "Wow sounds like a great time to be here."

Silva said, "I like to believe so, but I'm slightly biased." He chuckled and looked to Bob-O and said, "Checked the logs they look good, and we're a go for the spring training reports for the Marlins so go ahead and start running them tomorrow."

Bob-O replied, "You got it Fred."

Silva said, "All-right you got the store for the next two weeks. Use your best judgement I trust you Bob-O." He turned back to Nick and said, "Again nice to meet you Nick welcome to the family. we'll talk more when I get back. Have a good one gentlemen."

Silva left and Bob-O said, "Okay first week here you're gonna do the production stuff get your feet wet that kind of thing. Next week you'll be working with Dave Lee on mid-days get people used to you, and then you're on your own."

Nick said, "Gotcha Bob-O." After few moments of small talk Bob-O and Nick made their way back to the elevator. Nick entered the lobby and security gave him his parking pass and security card. The limo was waiting for him and Nick got back in on his way to his new apartment. Luckily the apartment was nearby so he could walk to work, but Nick made a note to go out and get a car later. First thing was first though seeing everyone and setting up his room in the apartment. All his stuff was shipped down a few days earlier and Nick was already planning out how everything was going to look. Now Nick was really smiling as the Limo arrived at the apartment. Nick got out, grabbed his luggage and headed into his new home.

“You’re going WHERE?”

Eun Chae Yeom rolled her eyes, popping another piece of kimchi into her mouth as her family stared at her with awe. “I told you,” she began, swallowing the savory piece of pickled vegetable as she dramatically waved her chopsticks in the air. “I’m going to move to Miami. Jason invited me.” Her eyebrows rose, and she glanced at her old parents. “Florida. Flo-ri-da,” she slowly said. It was then her fathers’ turn to roll his eyes. “I know where Miami is Eun Chae,” he said in spic-spac perfect English, glancing at his wife with delighted eyes. Eun Chae, or Sunny cackled, plucking a piece of meat from her younger brothers’ plate.

“Hey!” The younger brother pouted, stuffing his mouth with his remaining pieces of meat on his plate. “Leaving all of us here in Rhode Island… The least you could do is take us with you!” he mumbled.

“I don’t want to see your ugly face anymore so that’s why I’m leaving!” Sunny announced. “Sunny!” her mother exclaimed with mock surprise. “Be nicer to Alex! You’re his older sister!” Alex stuck out his tongue at Sunny, wrinkling his nose as he crossed his eyes. “Yeah, be a nice sister!” he jeered. Sunny chose to ignore him, a grin on her face.

James, the eldest and Will, the second oldest just sighed. It was another night full of taunts and mock fighting from the youngest two. James swiftly kicked Alex under the table, hushing him with his eyes as he calmly gobbled down his food. “Congratulations ‘lil sis,” James began, diving for a piece of fried fish. In one swift movement, Will reached over and snatched the morsel of meat away, popping it into his mouth with a blissful smile. “Yeah, congrats sissy Sunny,” Will brightly said as James clenched his jaw. “I am not a sissy, “Sunny muttered. “Plus, I’ve got a job down there, but I’ll make sure to call you every now and then.”

“Oh, that job where you have to deal with horny teens?” James muttered. Sunny shot him a glare, a pout painted on her face. “Not all of them are horny! They just need someone to listen to them,” she retorted. “Sure sure,” James said with a sigh, waving his hand. “Good luck.”

“Ah, and make sure to send money home every week!” Will said with a laugh. Sunny groaned, standing up to place her dishes in the sink and pack for her long trip to Miami. “Oh, shut up you. Both you and James have a job so make do with that!” Sunny said, sticking out her tongue at Will. Yet, she knew she would send home money ever so week.

The only goal Sunny had always longed to achieve was to finally let her parents live an easy life.

- Current -

Rainbows.

That was how Sunny felt at the moment. It was simply just a gush of wonderful, sparkling rainbows hitting her full-force. She had just arrived in Miami a few hours ago, and here she was, deciding that she would finally head to her new apartment. She admitted that she had spent some money on some unnecessary delicious hard candy and had started conversations with random people when she should have been heading to her new home.

Normal people would have most likely find that carrying around a huge bag (with all of her kendo equipment) and a suitcase tiring; but Sunny paid no mind to her luggage. Years of kendo and spending her time outside (wrestling with her brothers) left Sunny with a light tan look and a strong body. Her brown hair was messed as always; streaked with braids that were tied up with colorful bands. She was dressed in a white blouse and black shorts along with a pair of your average converses.

Yet, it was all for her to adjust to this new environment! The moment she had neared the apartment, Sunny noticed the open door and a man heading towards it. With excitement bubbling inside her, the five feet three inch Korean sped towards the man, slowing down her pace to walk next to the unknown male.

“Hiya!” she greeted him, flashing a bright smile.

"So. You're going to settle in today. Into your new home downtown?" Bailey asked. She was Mo's coworker, but they had known each other since high school, and she was the one who got the job for Mo when she heard that Mo was going to move to Miami. She was always a good friend of her. "Yeah. Thanks for taking me in these few days." Mo answered. She crashed at Bailey's place for a while before moving to Jason's. She needed to check in to her new work place first, and she already did that at her first day. Luckily Bailey had taken care of everything. She was a really good friend. "Are you sure you don't want me to drop you off there? What if you get lost? What if~" Suddenly Bailey's voice got distant. Momiji's thought trailed far back to her mother. Few days ago, the separation was emotional. She had never been that far apart with her mother. And the memory of the good-byes was still fresh, like a movie played back and forth inside her head.

"Don't cry, Oka-san" Her own voice was trembling, holding the tears down that her neck hurt. She still called her mother traditionally. She taught her that way, to keep tracks of their root. Always remember and proud, she told her daughter. "I will be okay. And you will be okay too. You have Steven by your side." She smiled to the man who changed their life, he then smiled back and patted her shoulder. "We finally get a hold of our lives. Now I need to get mine. This is the perfect time, Oka-san, I knew it." She stared closely at her mother's watery eyes. She then flung herself into her daughter's arm, hugging her tightly like she would never let go. But she knew she had to. "I know it too, sweety, I know it way better than you." The old woman said softly. Her body was small and fragile, but her hold was strong and sturdy. Life had gotten the best out of her. She had been struggling alone raising her daughter before Steven came in. The struggle had made her into the strong woman she was now. "I can't be selfish and keep you for myself. All I want is my baby girl to be happy. Therefore I give you my blessing, Momiji. Be good. However far you will go, I will always be here for you." Momiji couldn't hold her tears anymore. The two incredibly strong woman cried in each other's arm, silently savoring their last moments together. "I promise I'll be good, Oka-san. I won't let you down."

"Mo? Hello? Are you listening?" Bailey said while waving her hands in front of Mo's face. She had just realized that her friend was spacing out. "Hmm? Yeah, I'll be fine. I'll just take a cab or something. It's not like its far away from here, right?" Momiji was back on her ground now. Her stuff was standing in front of them, ready to go to their new home. It wasn't much at all, just a purple backpack filled with minor essentials and one big neon-colored luggage full of clothes. "Now go get me a cab, Bay. I think I'm late already. My room mates should be there by now." She bossed out while staring at the shocking-pink watch on her wrist. "You... Yes, m'Lady." Bailey said, irritated.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________

"I guess this is it." She walked into a huge building which was her new home. She dragged her neon-green luggage behind her, the purple backpack sat on it. She followed a guy and a petite girl who walked together towards a room, silently hoping that they were heading the same place as her. "Uh.. Hello? Are you guys friends of Jason? If that's a yes, I'm your new room mate." She said to them, scratching her short-bobbed brown hair. She hoped it will be a good start of some wholesome life, a life she had been hoping for.

Jason saw that Roberto was at the front of the apartment complex. He smiled wide, parking in his usual spot, climbing out, and giving him a handshake. "Roberto! Glad to see you made it!" He said, bring the handshake in for a brotherly hug. It has been a while since they have seen each other face to face. He helped him in a case, one that they won. "Welcome to Miami!" He noticed that Roberto didn't have much. He knew he didn't have much... He turned to see Holden walking by them, another one of Jason's close friends. He and Nick were his college roommates in college. Holden was a member of the famous Bishop family, and by the expression he had on his face as he passed by, he was on the phone with one of his parents... He wished his parents gave him some respect. He's done a lot for himself, and Jason respected him greatly for doing stuff without his family's help.

"That's Holden." He told Roberto. "One of our roommates. We went to college together... Come on, let me show ya the place!" He said with a smile, walking into the complex, going to the elevator, and then pressing the button to the top floor. It revealed a short hallway with one door at the end. "Mister Hakimi, i present to you: your home." He unlocked the wooden doors to reveal a very spacious and stylish living room.

The apartment had a wooden floor at the bottom level. A large leather couch was in the center of the room with a coffee table, a stone fireplace, and hanging in front was a large flat screen TV. On either side of the TV were walls made of windows, revealing a balcony with a hot tub on the side. The balcony showed the skyline of Miami, and the beach. To the left of the couch was a pool table, and a mini bar. A place where people can unwind for the day. On the right was a steel staircase leading to an upper level above them leading to everyone's rooms. Each room was theirs to redecorate any way they chose. Under the staircase was the kitchen, full with all your kitchen needs. An island for eating breakfast on, a large fridge, a microwave, oven, stove.

"This is it!" Jason said, taking off his suit jacket, and rolling up the shirt sleeves. "I placed your key in your room. Which will be up the stairs, second door." Jason said to him, giving him a pat on the back. He saw Holden laying on the couch, and Lucas drinking at the island. "Holden, Luke, this here is Roberto. A good friend of mine. Helped him in a case a while ago. I told you guys the story." He said. "Roberto, you've seen Holden Bishop..." He pointed to the pair of legs sticking off the couch. "And that's Lucas Alder. We've been friends since elementary school.... And we have one more person... "Hey Anna! We got a fresh one! come say hi!" He yelled into the apartment. "Anna is quieter... make a good impression. You should be fine." He said half jokingly.

Jason jumped over the couch, landing next to Holden. "Hey big guy...Another parent call?" He asked, not needing an answer. He and Holden had something in common: They both had terrible parents. His mother is a sweetheart though. She never did Jason wrong, but she always sided with his father, who he didn't like whatsoever. One thing they didn't have in common: Holden stayed in touch with his family. Holden rarely talked about his family to anyone. But Jason understood the whole bad parent thing. "How about you wait until later to take out my good stuff though." He said with a smile. "And i still gotta kick your ass in a game of pool later today, and i want you sober so you can remember who the reigning champion is!" Jason said with a laugh.

"Earlier than usual," he muttered, already in the process of pouring himself another drink. Pausing, he looked over toward Lucas, then back at the tiny shot glasses in front of him. Well, he did already claim the bottle, but thought quietly for a second. This was one the better drinks they stashed away, which lead him to believe that he was most likely wasting it. A good drink was there to enjoy; the bad stuff was there to drown out the issues and put 'em in a safe place for later. The latter was exactly what he need. He corked the bottle and slid it back into its cabinet before heading toward the mini-bar to grab a much needed bottle of vodka, half empty. Holden looked back at Lucas as he walked.

"Like that one Jimmy Buffet song—whatever the lyrics were," he said with grin that couldn't hide his previous scowl, "I guess now's a great time as any, right?"

Taking a quick swig of the bottle, he grabbed his coat and draped it on one of the hooks near the door, certain he'd remember to get it later. Then, he found his way onto the couch, and let his feet hang loosely against the coffee table's edge, surprised at the sudden body next to him. He'd totally blanked out at the greeting, uncertain of what to say now as Jason took to conversing with him. Well, he probably already made a bad impression to the recent newcomers and the bottle of vodka in his hands wasn't helping his situation any. Of course, he had a logical excuse to drown himself in alcohol, plus it wasn't like he wouldn't solve the problem later.

It was just that the problem itself was a little heftier than what he was used to and take a longer, more thought out process to fix. It practically took his whole life to find it hidden in his parent's euphemisms and innuendos.

"Mother's getting married again," he muttered into the bottle as he gave Jason a sidelong glance, "yet, she somehow brought all of this into the picture." Holden gestured in a general direction. Jason, Nick, and he all had a mutual understanding when it came to parents: don't talk about them too often or with great detail. They all understood that they had parental issues, but each were drastically different from the others' and it would be a pain just to try to understand what viewpoints lied where. It was an issue and that's where they left each left it.

Despite the evident issue, however, Jason always had a way of indirectly cheering him up. Or maybe it was directly; he wielded his charisma like a political monster. People were fortunate enough that Jason was a good guy and primarily did good things. Though, Holden knew a lot of ways he could put that silver tongue and quick wit of his to better use. The wealthy stage was filled with people who would pour money into anything just to get a good image. A well placed fundraiser for a good organization—cancer research, supporting rape victims, supporting anti-discrimination across the board (black, white, gay, straight, men, women), and anything to deal with children—and they'd have billions of dollars stacked in the right place for the right people. There was just the task of convincing Jason to step back from his job for a good year or two, in order to help build the cause from the ground up. His father, being the opportunist he was, would have laid all the ground work, set up the foundation, and let the money flow, just for good publicity and the profit it would indirectly rake in for his company—of course, he would bring up a parent or two in this thought process.

That was food for thought later. Holden was currently engaged in conversation and Jason would soon question the hard, blank stare he was receiving. At least the thought had totally shoved back his lamentations prior, in no due part to Jason and his way with words.

"Sober or not," Holden chimed, grinning, "I'm probably going to lose, since I suck at pool and you know it. How 'bout we compare suits instead? Mine's Valentino and cost about 200,000 bucks; my ass looks great in them and they show off the muscles I paid a trainer to get me. Granted, I no longer have a trainer... 'cause apparently he wanted a relationship." Standing up now as he set the bottle down, Holden let his gaze fall onto Jason again, daring him to say anything with that shit-eating grin he had plastered onto his face. "Of course, now we're comparing sex and we both know who has the most sex in this relationship," Holden gave a wink as he spoke, "I can give you some advice, if you'd like. Then you'd probably be too broke to buy any condoms, by the end of it all. But hey, you'll have a lotta baby-daddy cases to solve, right?"

Snickering, Holden bounded off, but made sure to give a glance over his shoulder as he shouted from the stairs he was now climbing, "Me, you, ping-pong tonight. Prepare to get your ass thoroughly wooped, Jace." With that, he disappeared up the stairs with his coat over his shoulder and suddenly invigorated, barely missing Roberto on his way up. All of those nasty feelings were shoved down for later, when he took off the mask and finally got to work solving whatever it was his parents decided to cook up. Right now, though, he was ready to get comfortable and meet the rest of the crew.

A few moments later, Holden bounded down the stairs once more, dressed in a casual t-shirt and jeans. He, however, would never be able to wipe away the look of wealth that pervaded him, no matter how hard he wanted to. It was ingrained by years of subtle manipulation caused by none other than his parents. Levi would gladly have Holden model their pants, if only to say, 'Look, a Bishop is wearing our brand; give us some money.' And despite his air of high-class status, Holden never failed to immediately quash any thoughts of adoration and awe.

Being the klutz he was, Holden completely missed the last step and tumbled into the back of the couch. Cursing quietly to himself, he looked over to his immediate right to see the horde of people coming in, two of which he didn't recognize, but one stood out like a sore thumb. Forgetting completely about his misstep, Holden rushed over toward Nick, grabbing him by the waist and lifting him into a tight hug, not caring that the man was holding onto anything. The only people he'd ever be that intimate with were his two college buddies, Jason being one of them; anyone else he'd give the curt, sophisticated handshake. But, those two knew him for who he was and Holden was anything but curt and polite in private company. He was blunt, slightly goofier than usual, and in every sense a public figure trying his damn best to seem normal, despite his parents insisting that he was anything but.

Roberto followed Jason, for the most part, silently. Nodding and taking in the information he shared. Whenever he was introduced to somebody, he would greet them with a nod and a faint smile, perhaps a 'Hey' or two. "I just want to remind you how thankful I am for this," he muttered to the lawyer when he was done giving him a basic tour of the apartment. "I mean everything. You've been a great friend to me without getting much in return, I am gonna' do whatever it takes to repay you somehow," he glanced over to Jason's friends, who seemed eager to talk to him. "Anyway, I'm going to go and check out my room, I'll be down soon," he exhaled before Jason could reply and turned away up the staircase.

He entered the room Jason had assigned him. It was much larger than he expected. It wasn't kingsize, but it was bigger than any room he'd ever owned. He looked around. There was a load of empty space and all he had was his guitar, which he put down in the corner. He then unzipped his hoodie and placed it on a set of draws. Before taking a seat on the bed and placing his head in his hands. It had been a truly exausting few months - or years. Or maybe it had just been a bit of an exausting existance so far for Roberto. He was sure there were millions, hell, billions, who had had worse upbringings, but that didn't stop him from feeling like his had been below par. He knew that now, for the first time in a long time, he'd be able to relax.

Leaving his wallet on his bed, he headed down the stairs to join his new housemates, who were too engaged in a conversation to notice his presence, which was totally understandable, as it seemed old friends had been reuinted. He poured himself a glass of water - he wasn't a social drinker, he had his reasons for this, but this didn't mean he couldn't have a good time. He then headed over to the glass panes that revealed the beautiful coast of Miami. He sipped at his drink and observed the scenery, smiling. It reminded him of a childhood trip to Valencia, where he and his parents had sat on the hot sand and enjoyed their time together.

He remained standing, peering out at the horizon, waiting until the chaos of new arrivals in the house died down, despite him being one.

As Nick approached the door he shook his head slowly and could only being to imagine what the inside of the apartment looked like. Knowing Jason it was top of the line stuff and created an atmosphere that made everyone feel comfortable which made Nick smile. Jason was usually the center of attention back in college, and that wasn't a bad thing. He was kind of the glue that held everyone together in those days. Holden, Jason, and Nick seemed to bond with one another on so many different levels. They had a knack of getting into trouble, getting each other out of trouble, but above all else they were there for one another. It wasn't always perfect in terms of their friendship they had their share of ups and downs, but they always found a way to work things out or just let 'em go. Through thick or thin their friendship was as solid as any substance on the planet.

Just as Nick was preparing to walk into the lobby when a young lady approached him and said,“Hiya!”

She seemed very friendly and a smile that one couldn't help but be put at ease with. Her dress was very comfortable and she seemed to have a personality that would light up a room Nick noticed the luggage she was carrying and said, "Well hello there. New to the building I'm gathering, and I'll bet anything you're a roommate of Jason Hunt's as well as me." He looked at her shoes and said, "Nice shoes."

Nick bowed his head slightly and said, "Nick Dawson I knew Jason back in college he invited me down here too, so I'm on my way in and the first thing I'm doing is getting out of the suit and tie."

Nick heard someone else approaching and heard a female voice say, "Uh.. Hello? Are you guys friends of Jason? If that's a yes, I'm your new room mate."

Nick said while turning slowly, "Friends of Jason sounds like we should be forming..." he turned and faced another young woman with brown hair cut in a bob and Nick felt himself smile without even thinking as he finished saying, "a support group or something." She too had a sizable amount of luggage and the touching of the hair told Nick she might be a bit nervous. Truth be known Nick was fairly relaxed with the first young lady, but this one made him a bit nervous for some reason.

Nick shook his head and said, "Oh sorry Nick Dawson and yes I'm a friend of Jason's as well, as is..." he motioned to the other young lady and said, "as is this member of our party. I'm sorry for being so rude I haven't asked for any of your names yet or anyone else's for that matter"

Nick took a deep breath and realized he was within an eyelash of rambling and said with much more control, "I think we might be more comfortable inside where we'll have a better chance to get to know one another." He looked at the door and then at his two new roommates and said, "Shall we?"

Nick opened up the apartment door and said stepping in with his duffel bag "Attention please! A refugee from Arlington, Virginia has arrived seeking political asylum in Miami! I also happen to be escorting two lovely young ladies as well." He turned to the two ladies and said, "Welcome to your new home." Although he caught himself smiling automatically at the one with the brown hair for some reason.

Nick turned back into the apartment and when he saw Jason Nick said, "Look who showed up! Damn it's good seeing you again Jason." He kind of chuckled and then looked at the couch and saw Holden sitting there. Nick walked over and said, "So you gonna spot me my usual 18 when we play ping-pong or what?" Nick sucked at Ping-Pong but Holden spotted him 18 points and still beat him 21-18 usually. Nick said, "Great seeing you again Holden. We're gonna have fun here."

Nick stood up and said, "Now if you all will excuse me for just a moment I need to get changed." Nick bolted upstairs and saw a room with some moving boxes in them and recognized his mom's handwriting on them. Nick entered the room and dropped his bag. Quickly he stripped out of his suit, and into his favorite blue-jeans, a gray "Batman" logo shirt, and his Nikes.

Nick made his way back downstairs and said, "Oh what a day I feel so much more comfortable. I don't know about you all but I could use a serious Chai-Latte."

It was already getting lively downstairs. Of course it was, isn't past usual work hours or something? Or are they having some sort of party? Anna groggily sat up scratching the back of her head with one hand, and the other balled up into a fist to rub away the exhaustion weighing down her eyelids. Her phone slid off her chest, down to her side. She had another 3 days to sleep it all off, so there wasn't exactly a rush. She ran her fingers through the messy waves of dark hair before smoothing away the wrinkles on her sweater. You may be a social recluse but doesn't mean you can't make yourself look nice. Anna thought to herself, trying to stifle the hefty yawn.

Once up and about she completely forgot about the earphones in her ear, and she dragged her phone up with her. Like it was 1000 pounds, she flew forward with it, but caught herself before she could face plant back into the carpet. Once the object was on the ground, she snatched it up from the ground disconnected the cord and threw both things onto her bed.

Anna could hear Jason calling her to meet another of his friends. With a slightly exasperated sigh, she nodded her head. Before then though, she performed a good stretch trying to force the weights of fatigue off her bones. Her arms reaching up high, spine arching and a yawn letting loose. Dropping her arms, a slight roll of her shoulders, and a shake of her limbs she was ready to go. Well, more like ready to try at least. She opened her door slightly, poking her head out of her room.

"Yeah, hi!" She yelled towards the staircase and hoped her voice would reach down to the lower level and be somewhat friendly.

Then, she was back in and leaning against her door. It wasn't long before she heard people all over the stairs, Holden going up then down then minutes later another going up. Probably the new blood. She thought. Fortunately, or unfortunately in some sense the walls were somewhat thin, and you could hear the conversation and if someone entered or not. It wasn't long until another party entered the building, and so with narrowed eyes and a fierce reluctance she trudged down the stairs. Fingers running through messy untamed hair, desperately trying to fix last minute.

"Someone mind passing me a beer, or something?" Anna asked hoping her tone wasn't as harsh like it was most of the time. She slumped down onto the leather couch arms spread out on top of the couch and legs spread eagle. Already she was distracted by god knows what.

Jason gave a smile to Roberto's words. He was glad he was grateful, but he hoped he knew that he didn't have to repay him. All he had to do in Miami was to get on his feet, and Jason hoped he and the others can help him. As Holden talked, Jason jokingly mocked him. "I'll beat your fancy pants ass in ping pong too! I've been training for this moment!" He pretended to hit an imaginary ball with a paddle, laughing, knowing he won't be able to talk his way out of losing that match. He walked in to the kitchen, patting Lucas on the back as he opened the fridge. "Hey man, you been checking out the Florida ladies by the pool?" he asked, noticing his swim suit with a laugh. He pulled out a beer bottle, going to a part of the marble table that had a hard steel on the edge of it. He had it purposely placed there. He slammed the cap onto it, the cap falling off. He grabbed it and put it in a draw, and took a sip.

Then he raised his eyebrows with a smile as he heard yet another familiar voice coming from the door. "Hey! who gave you my address?" He called out to him, his arms out and open with a smile. Making sure his beer wouldn't fall, he embraced Nick's brotherly hug. As he walked up the stairs he saw two other of his close friends: Mo and Sunny at the door too. "Ah man, I'm sorry you had to talk to him." He said with a grin, obviously joking. "Its good to see you girls." He hugged both of them. As Nick walked down the stairs, he saw Anna was out too. Jason knew she wasn't that sociable, but he was happy she made it out.

He walked behind her when she dropped on the couch, messing with her hair like an annoying brother. "So everyone!" He called out to them. "It looks like everyone is here!" he said with a huge grin. "So Mo, Sunny, the rooms are up the stairs obviously. "But we also got a hot tub, HD television with over a thousand channels for the slow days, walking distance to the beach, and some really good local restaurants. Drinks, food, video games, pool, ping pong, surround sound stereo... and personal rooms to customize!" He said to them. "Hey Rob! get in here for a second!" He called out to the balcony.

"So, everyone: This is Lucas Alder, Momiji "Mo" Smiths, Eun Chae "Sunny" Yeom, Holden Bishop, Nick Dawson, Anna Crobatus, and Roberto Hakimi." As Jason said the names, he pointed to them. "And we're gonna be living together for a while. So get to know each other, chill out, get your rooms situated..." He looked at down at his watch. "And after a few games of pool and ping pong, i know there's gonna be a Friday bonfire on the beach tonight if you guys want to go!"

The first two people she met was really friendly, and she was happy to know that. Especially the guy who was a little bit odd with all his rambling and stuff, but at least he was smiling at her. And it was good. He looked really good. The girl seemed nice too, she could easily tell by the look on that girl's face. She seemed so bright and cheerful. And Mo knew so well that they will be a good room mates. And again, especially the weird guy, whom she returned the smile back to. He was quite odd and awkward for sure, with no apparent reason. So Mo decided to just listen to him with a curious smile spread across her face. The fun had just begun when they got in.

Jason. Finally someone who was familiar show up. She then quickly dragged her luggage in and just left it there, covering the entrance. She was so happy to see him. Only God knows when the last time they met. She returned his hug right away, hugging him tight. She let him go and watched him closely when he introduced everyone else. It was really crowded there, but she loved the ambiance. More people means new friends. And she'd love to have some companions to help her get through the rough days she might encounter. Her smile got even wider by then. She missed her mother a lot already, couldn't ignore the fact that they had never spent their life apart. But these people would make a great company. Also, the odd guy from before, his name was Nick. She silently noted this down on her mind, together with everyone else. She made sure that she will remember them well. The inability to recall your own room mates would make the worst joke ever.

After Jason finished his 'speech', Mo walked towards him right away. She jumped onto his back and hugged him like he was a fluffy teddy bear. She couldn't care less if her hug suffocates him. "Jason!" She screamed loudly, but her voice got muffled because her face was planted tight on his back. "Jeez, I miss you soooo much. Feels like forever since the last time we met." She hugged him even tighter. She continued her sayings without giving him any chance to say a word, "About that bonfire, totally in."

While still hugging the only guy she knew well in that place, she turned to where Nick was. There he was, apparently had changed his outfit into something cozier. She shouted mildly to him, still clinging to Jason like he was just a mere stuffed toy. "Hey Batman!" She said, "Did you say Latte earlier? I can make you one. Might as well be the best one you'll ever tasted." She grinned.

Nick was trying to put faces to names as Jason introduced everyone to everyone else. He found out that the two young ladies he escorted in were named Momiji "Mo" Smiths & Eun Chae "Sunny" Yeom, It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out who belonged to which name. Sunny seemed to work for the first young lady he met at the door because she just burst forth with a smile and personality that was just...okay yeah Sunny. Mo there was something about her that made Nick go into almost babble mode instantly, and considering what he did for a living that could be an occupational hazard. Nick though took comfort in that if he was coming off as a real goof ball right now at least there was nowhere to go but up in the impression department.

When Nick heard the idea of a Bonfire he shot Jason a "thumbs up" and said, "Sounds great let's live it up tonight!"

He looked around and wasn't exactly sure where to sit or what to do right off the bat. Anne seemed like she was there in body but her mind and spirit not so much. Nick felt it best just leave her alone for the time being. Besides it seemed like she just woke up and so Nick coming over and trying to strike up a conversation wasn't exactly his best idea at the time.

There were few things in the world that Nick hated more than anything else and that was the whole awkward "getting to know you" thing. Whether it was in school, work, or seeing family members that you would only see once and hope that you would never see again this was always a pain in the neck. Not to mention Jason & Holden were used to him and his semi-abnormal hobby of sci-fi/geek stuff who knows how wearing a Batman, or other kind of super-hero/sci-fi, t-shirt would go over with this crowd. Not to mention once he got his room set-up...maybe moving here was a mistake suddenly crossing Nick's mind.

Mo called out to him "Hey Batman! "Did you say Latte earlier? I can make you one. Might as well be the best one you'll ever tasted" and she added a grin to it.

At that moment Nick grinned back and a new thought came across his mind; oh yeah mom was right moving here was a good call. He replied as he looked at his shirt. "Batman? Oh darn. Well there goes my secret identity." Nick crossed over to the breakfast bar and leaned against it. He looked at Mo and said, "I do believe that you can back that statement up. One condition though; you make one for yourself too. I don't like drinking lattes alone."

Lucas nodded as Holden walked off, clearly absorbed in his own thoughts. No point to this he supposed. It was a job for Jason, the only connection most of them had in this place. As if on cue, their host himself came through the door followed a new arrival. He listened to Jason make the usual remarks about the place, introductions around, waved as his name was called.

His thoughts turned to the girl upstairs when Jason called up to her. They hadn't really crossed paths since arriving, but from he'd seen of her she wasn't bad on the eyes. Nice long hair, good body. She just seemed really distant. She'd look good if she just smiled. Then again, he remembered his own sister who herself just was reserved with most people but a great person. Time would tell. He was sure she'd make a good friend. After all, he was starting at zero in a new city.

"Well maybe zero isn't quite the appropriate term," he thought looking at the apartment that was far above any luxury he could have imagined living in when he was growing up. Jason joked about his time at the pool as he walked past him. "Hey man, I was at the pool to chill for a bit, the ladies came to see me." The last of the group arrived a few moments later. Another of Jason's college buddies. Their trio was complete. And two more young women, a lot friendlier than Anna he couldn't help but notice.

Jason then gathered them around and introduced them one by one. It was good to see everyone in one place. He was used to a lot of people in one living arrangement, though not usually in as big a place as this. It'd be fun. A nice return to his noisy childhood. His ears picked up at the sounnd of the words "bonfire" and "beach." "Can't wait to go!" he said in reply. As everyone started to mingle he noticed the guy who'd come in with Jason, Roberto, hanging out by the window by himself. Picking up his lemonade once more he made his way over. "What's up, Roberto. I'm Lucas, in case you missed it. How's the view?" he asked, just opening it up for conversation.

Roberto snapped out of his trance when he heard the voice of somebody he didn't know. "What's up, Roberto. I'm Lucas, in case you missed it." One of his new room-mates greeted. "How's the view?"

"Amazing," Roberto turned to him, smiling slightly, sipping at his glass of water. "Reminds me of home," he nodded. "Spain," he explained. He adjusted the collar of his t-shirt nervously before placing the now empty glass down on the bar surface and turning back to Lucas. "Nice to meet you," he smiled, putting out a hand, which Lucas could shake or ignore. "This is weird for me, I've never lived with others, really, other than my family. I look forward to it," he nodded slowly. "I am lucky, you all seem like good people."

For a moment, as Roberto stood in conversation with Lucas, his brain switched off and traveled to a different world. He remembered the night his father died. Suddenly he realised that if his father hadn't died, he wouldn't be standing there right now. His father, on his deathbed, had pleaded that Roberto give up his life of crime. Roberto could do nothing but accept, and had set his sights on living a legal, good life. He was doing that now, in good company, surrounded by friendly people in a beautiful appartment. Perhaps, he thought to himself, that the metaphorical door that closed when his father died had opened another, to a better life for Roberto.

Blinking, he realised that Lucas was still stood there. "Sorry," he sighed. "I just remembered something important, kind of zoned out. Anyway..." he scratched his neck. "What is it you do for fun around here?" He needed to get the stress of travel off of his back and settle in.

Introductions were always fun, even if Holden's eyes were wandering elsewhere. Though the sound of conversing behind him caught his ears. Dropping his hands, waving off the invitation Jason presented—the guy knew he'd be there, even if he would be a tad late—he moved toward the kitchen where one familiar face and another traveled. The word lattes hit his eardrums; a smile stretched across his features as he dropped down onto one of the bar stools near the island counter.

Looking directly at Momiji, he gave the gal a wink and inquired, "Think I could get a little something? Exhausting day. Lots of sugar and creamer, maybe some put some vanilla in there. Jason keeps most of the coffee stuff in that shelf," he pointed up, directing her to the cabinet right beside the fridge. With Holden, most people couldn't determine from the way he acted or the way he talked whether he took a fancy to anyone caught in his large sphere of influence. He'd had to point out various times to Nick and Jason that he wasn't, indeed, hitting on them during college; it was how he talked, a little too intrusive, a little too personal, and a little too unaware of people's personal space. Of course, Holden would assure a person whether or not he was at the very least fancying the idea of a casual tryst.

"I take it you do this for a living," Holden observed, arching a brow as he smirked, "That sounds wonderful. Just know I usually hate anything coffee related after I've had my first cup, so no offense intended if I reject any offers to more lattes or cappuccinos. I've got an inclination toward sweet things, but too much coffee gives me a headache."

Completely ignoring the fact that Nick, from his hiccups in speech and body language, had taken a liking to this gal, Holden went on with his onslaught of a tad too personal interrogation, "So, where is it you come from? You've got a keen Asiatic look; I've enjoyed traveling to Japan and Korea the most when I had to. The culture there is exhilarating, though totally different than what most people are used to. Even if I didn't quite get to experience it first hand."

Sunny grinned at the Nick Dawsons' comment, about to say something before a female voice spoke out. She turned around, catching sight of a pretty young woman who had a bob cut. Excitement pooled inside her; Sunny just knew she was going to have a grand time here in Miami. The three went inside the apartment, where they were instantly greeted by an all-too familiar guy. Jason.

"It's been way too long!" she said as she hugged back Jason. Fragments of old high school memories sparked up, and all of the sudden, Sunny found herself sniffling a bit. She suddenly missed being in high-school, goofing around and bonding with people. Since she had graduated high school, Sunny had managed to lose all of her old contacts, minus Jason. She looked at Jason as he began his speech, which instantly brightened Sunnys' face. A room to customize? This called for a future day of tape and k-pop posters.

Jason then started to place names on the unfamiliar faces. Sunny glanced around, repeating each persons' name twice, trying her hardest to remember everyone's names. She feared that she would end up with a major brain fart when greeting one of her house mates. Which would most likely happen. After chorusing in her agreement to the bonfire, everyone started to disperse, talking amongst themselves. Sunny took this chance to quickly drag her luggage all the way up to her room, dumping it near a bed. She stretched her back and arms, wincing as she heard a sharp popping sound from her joints. A sigh of relief floated from her mouth as she rolled out her limbs, her body finally free from the weight.

Not letting another second go by, Sunny bounded back downstairs again, looking around. Mo, Nick, and... Hol- something were talking. Two other males; Robert and Larry were also chatting with each other. Which left Jason and Annie. Sunny shrugged her shoulders, bounding over to the girl who was sprawled out on the couch. The other girls' hair was in a mess, and she looked fatigued and almost dreamy-like. Interesting.

"Hiii!" Sunny chimed as she plopped down next to Annie, turning towards her as she outstretched her hand. "It's nice to meet you...Annie!"
