Many of the Elves have left for Valinor, Dwarves are reclaiming the depths and the humans are rebuilding from their war against Sauron. Hobbits are doing their usual bout about life. Uruk-hai, Orcs, goblins and trolls are scattered and being hunted down. We all know what happened prior to the War, but what of after?

At a very well known cross road, paths will cross and fates will change. Parties are formed to hunt down the Orcs and agents of the Dark. To find treasure misplaced during the War. The dark will never be stamped out for long, where there is good in the world evil will follow. Where there is light, there shall always be shadow. Will Morgoth reclaim his foothold upon Arda? Will the dwarves reclaim Moria? Have elves left for all of time? What will become of the Orcs, and Uruk-hai? What of the shadow in the North, South and East? The men of Angmar? Umbar, and Rhun?

If anyone is interested I'll add in a Character sheet.

Must try to be on Daily, unless otherwise informing.
Must be adept at casual Rping at the least.
Must know something of the the Lore.
NO BALROGS. NO DRAGONS. NO WRAITHS (Ring Wraiths). NO VALAR (only DMs). No being any of the characters from book, show, or game (May excluded a good Ratbag).

Fighters (Skilled ones) should belong to a army, or Rangers. Human, or hobbit adventurers should have no combat exp. unless a deserter (In which you will be hunted down for). Bow skills not included (Hunting, survival skills). If you have skills in warfare, probably being recruited by army or militia. Putting this because fighting is too common, you may hunt, farm, craft in your life. But you really only fought with a militia or army, thus your knowledge of weaponry would come from thus.

Magic is extremely rare, the council either wants you or you're being watched. Power level depends, check with DM. Most will be hedge wizards with basics only. You can grow and expand the knowledge in the RP.

Essentially, be reasonable/ realistic.

Very Character driven. Your motives, actions, decisions... They will shape the RP.

I'm interested. I'm a pretty hardcore LOTR guy, so let me point some things out right off the bat: Morgoth wont be returning, he's out, for good. The Dwarves will almost certainly work to reclaim Moria, but it could take centuries. All the Elves can't possibly have left for Valinor because some never went in the first place (Moroquendi anybody?)

If this were to go on, I'd definetly be a Dwarf. Haven't RP'ed a Dwarf before, and it would be interesting.

The Elves all leaving for Valinor was a mistype. I was thinking and speaking more of the realm that many of them HAVE left and are leaving.

Melkor's lies, sowed in the hearts of Elves and Men, were a seed that did not die and could not be destroyed, but ever and anon sprouted anew, and bore dark fruit ever after.[13]
According to material in some of Tolkien's writings compiled (but not published) by his son, in the last days Melkor will learn how to break the Door of Night and re-enter the World, and initiate the Dagor Dagorath, the Battle of Battles.[14][15]

Morgoth is darkness, lies, deceit. And while you may win a battle or war against him. He will continue. As he is immortal, As he was once joined with the Valar, Blessed by the hand of Eru. He can very well return.

I'd argue that the whole point of him being banished into the void at the end of the first age implies an impossibility of his return. The only thing ever to come out of the void without the will of Eru was Ungoliant, and even she was defeated and cast off.

Anyway, I'm still interested, hope this goes up.

Going to give this a slight nudge.

@OnlyThePie @Hael
What do you two want to go see? To do? Give me a idea so I can start constructing a rough sketch of story and reasoning.

I'd like to send my boy East, North, or into the Misty Mountains, I might make him a bit of an eccentric, and maybe he'll go visit the old ruins in Mordor, or explore the old goblin hideaways in the mountains. But I'm up for whatever.

Color me interested. Torn between an eerily quiet blacksmith's apprentice in search of a new master, or a blind, slightly crazy hedge-mage.

Well you can have more than one character, so long as you can keep them active. The max, I'm setting is at two.

@BrassOtter
You know you've been reading too much 'A Song Of Fire And Ice' when you see eerily quiet blacksmith's apprentice and instantly think Gendry.

What might be interesting is to bring back some of the old races I.E. the Werewolves, Dragons or Balrogs. They could make a resurgence from over the mountains to the east, just a thought. Or if you want to get crazy maybe a have son of either Morgoth or Sauron. But interested as possibly a Knight of Dol Amroth or man of Rhun.

@Cold Hands I'm leery of the idea of them as of yet. The Darkness in Middle Earth is newly defeated and things are very chaotic as it is. Balrogs would need to be raised by another Dark Lord. Werewolves may exist, but far to the North and few in number. Dragons would be the same as Werewolves. I'll research it, but I promise nothing and will not grant these as playable races.

Also for a son of Morgoth/Sauron? No. Just no. Thing are crazy enough and that just goes beyond it.

Also a man from Rhun? Absolutely. A knight of Dol Amroth? Sure thing! Though make sure there is a good reason for them to be wandering about Arda.

I am tentatively interested. I have no concerns about content or quality, but my participation centers around the requirement to be on daily. I'm pretty sure I could post daily, but it couldn't always be a long post. At leasta paragraph in each post, of course, but not always much more than that. If this is alright, I would be delighted to join.

And, while I'm not exactly an expert on the lore of Middle Earth...
Magic is extremely rare, the council either wants you or you're being watched.

What exactly does this refer to? At first glance, it makes me think of the Istari, but that makes no sense to what I understand about the lore.

Script my name under the section titled 'Interested', for LOTR is a joyous series of novels and mass of lore that I would enjoy delving into, particularly in such an interesting time of year. @LadyRunic

@Shade I... Just..... Yes. To that picture, yes.

Also, @Zendrelax, I'm doing some research to answer that question. As much as I love the lore, a friend of mine inspired this idea and I was typing down his stuff as well as my own.

@LadyRunic While I am sure I could trail my way through lore and endless web pages, I would rather just ask: Any chance of a rogue Uruk Hai? Defect if you will...

@Shade I am going to say this....

YESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESSSSSS!!!

Absolutely. Orcs, goblin, troll.. Though I'd be wary of those (dumber than nails). Human, elf, dwarf, hobbit, man of Rhun, you name and I will most likely allow it. Just no beings as mentioned in my first post.

@Zendrelax
The council will be rulers and important people who want to gather up ancient relics to keep them from people who would misuse them. The Blue Wizards are missing. The magic will mostly be ancient relics made my elf, dwarf, perhaps Numeron and their own gifts (Ie. Aragon's healing hands, The magic mirror, Elrond's healing ability, Glorfindel being able to ease Frodo's pain. Dwarves' hidden doors, and Celebrimbor's rings.) Made by the elves, dwarves; gifted to humans. General rule of thumb.
That would be Correct- some new faces and None of the old wizards- they would all have left with the Vast majority of the elves, OR had been Killed having resisted Sarumon and Sauron. EXCEPT for maybe Radagast.

Possibility of a CS skeleton? I think I have a clear idea.

Presently my character will be and Uruk-Hai defect too close to human intelligence to be amiable to the same influence as most, and so cast aside to be killed. But he escaped and fended for himself, coming across travelers and society as a child does its surroundings, he has learned the hard way that humanity and its allies will scorn those they find dissimilar to themselves.

Kinda.

Like that.

@Shade Uruk-hai aren't dumb. Nor are Orc. Their smart in their own way. Relying more on brute strength. They have their own social structure and way of life. Your Uruk=hai would know of humans, Saruman would most likely have wanted smart Uruk-hai to become officers (He needed smart ones to keep the rest in check) and such. Unless this Uruk wanted more... peaceful means or wasn't a fighter. Even then he would be most likely reduced to a camp snaga just above goblins and such.
