Current Objective
Disable the Ork Artillery and Antiaircraft batteries to allow Imperial liberation forces to land. There are other strike teams being sent in with yours. If possible, establish communications with them.

The Inquisitor shook his head, got up, and dusted himself off. He saw his old friend, a Techmarine, kneeling outside.
"How long was I out, old chap?" He asked in his distinct accent, walking out of the wrecked Valkyrie.
"Ork anti aircraft guns disabled us, and we crashed. We have a visual on the objective, the Ork artillery batteries." Wespe replied scanning the trees and vines of the forest world, "I assume we will walk the rest of the way?"
"Lets try and get by their patrols quietly, we can do without an Ork horde on our backs." The Inquisitor replied, he adjusted his coat and checked himself. He was missing his sidearm, Wespe noticed this and tossed him his bolt pistol. The Inquisitor nodded at him. "Alright chaps, lets get moving." He commanded, taking two steps forward before an Ork landed in front of him. Wespe looked at the Inquisitor and the Inquisitor looked back at Wespe, and everyone heard a very close by WAAAAGH.
"Sounds like a small Ork force." The Inquisitor deduced, shooting the downed Ork in the head with his pistol.

Having been thrown from the wreckage as it smashed to the ground, Mogh picked himself up as he heard the sounds of approaching enemies. He sniffed the air. "Greenskins..." he muttered. Walking towards his faithful Centurion, it was currently burried under the craft, he would need assistance in retrieving it, but there was no time now, Reaching under it, he managed to pull Two-Socks from it's holster on the great armours back and put it on. Picking up the great cannon, he looked around to see if the others were alright. "BROTHERS! SOUND OFF!" he growled. That was when the Inquisitors moved. "Good to see you still alive, sirs." he said. Which is when the Ork arrived. "DAMN XENOS BASTARDS!!!" he yelled as he brought the cannon to bare at it... But the Inquisitor had already taken care of it. He heard the sound of the Orks roaring their great, stupid chant. "COME AND FACE THE EMPEROR'S WRATH FOUL XENOS!!!" his roar almost as loud as his cannon... But not quite, the sound was deafening as he pumped many rounds into the undergrowth. The trees and shrubs in the firing arc being torn to shreds.

The inside of the gunship groaned as the great weight of the Sternguard was lifted off of it. The Marine landed on the ground with a heavy thud, the man grunting at the impact. Higher than he'd expected. Looking around, he made sure all others were accounted for... By the screaming, he'd assumed the resident Angry Marine was up. But no, it was only the Space Wolf, who was now blasting at the undergrowth with his gun, just inviting trouble on them all.

Next time, I want intelligent people on my squad, he thought to himself, pulling his own Bolter from its sheathe. The heavy metal of his cloak made little sound as he positioned himself nearby, aiming his gun at the undergrowth, trying to hear where the Orks would be coming from. Not that he could hear much other than that damned gun anyways.

But, he was a Sternguard. He was patient. He would wait.

Aura climbed from the Valkyrie, all the while watching her armor's HUD give her a status report. Green to go, thankfully, apparently the Guard really did acquire good suits of Carapace. She then checked over the Hotshot lasgun and it's backpack-mounted powerpack, and both were ready for action. She dropped from the crashed valkyrie, tucking into a roll as she did. It was a fairly decent drop, though the resident Marines didn't seem to care. She brought the hotshot to bear and commented "Status Green Inquisitor, and if I'm good I'm sure the big guys are too." With that, she stretched and felt the muscles and bones in her body pop and click as they returned to their proper places. She then re-leveled the weapon and aimed towards the right flank, commenting to the resident Space Wolf "Hey, Big Guy! How about NOT advertising our position to anything with a brain within a mile radius?"

Mogh continued to halted his fire into the undergrowth as the Guardswoman approached him, spouting some nonsense about being quiet. "Guardsman, you do not understand what this badge means." He said, pointing the Inquisition symbol on his poldron "It says that we shall kill all alien filth that we are able to. Suffer not the Xenos to live, the most sacred of words. It is a promise I, and everyone else that wears this, made to the Immortal God Emperor. By firing at them, there is a chance I may kill them, and if I do not kill them, then the great, stupid beasts will be drawn by the loud noise and I shall kill them then." he said. "Make sure the others are ready for when the Xeno's arrive." He saw a wavy outline amonst the trees and quickly fired at it, the wavy outline exploded as the Autocannon shells hit it and a dead Ork appeared and fell to the ground "Scouts... The main force will not be far behind."

Aura looked at him and spat out "Try killin Xenos by getting overwhelmed then, I dare ya. You are inviting the enemy to attack us at our weakest point, you've violated every rule in the Guard's handbook and probably the Space Marines too. Just because we have to kill the Xenos doesn't mean we have to do it now, nor does it mean we have to do it in the loudest fucking way we can think up." With that, she strode over to the Sternguard and noted, for the first time, the Zeta Marines sigil on his shoulder. Aura promptly saluted and said "Sergeant Kalstov of the 245th Teemonian Rangers sir, pleasure to fight with a professional."

Mogh shook his head as the Guardswoman strode away. The Space Wolves were a proud Chapter, with a distinct lack of subtlety. Throwing themselves wildly against insurmountable odds was their way, ever since The Holy Primarch, Lord Leman Russ, had descended upon Prospero with just his personal guard and wiped out the entire of the Thousand Son Heretics there. If his primarch could do so against those who were trained to be the Emperor's Hammer and augmented with the powers of the false gods, then he had no right to back down from a mindless rabble of foul smelling greenskins. Although, he had achieved his objective of luring them to him, he looked around for a more defensible position for Two-Socks to chew the Orks to pieces. Running towards the Valkyrie, he ripped the side door off of it before looking up. Luckily the wing had snapped off in the crash, this meant that the Heavy Bolter in the door could easily fire into the trees from where the Orks were coming from. Picking up the door, he smashed it into the ground in front of him to build makeshift cover. Unfolding the legs of Two-Socks, he rested the Autocannon on the top of the cover before pulling out his bolt pistol. The Autocannon had been specially upgraded by Adeptus Mechanicus to have less recoil. He only needed to hold it two handed when moving with it, this meant that when hunkering down, he could keep a hand free. And that hand was for his trusty sidearm. He closed his eyes to pray for a second "Immortal God Emperor, who art with us always, may my weapons strike true and not fail your glory. Amen." he muttered.

"There's got to be a morning after..."

The lyrics of the song echoed in Rageman's mind. The acedemics of the Administratum called the device a "record player", and Age of Terra machine used for playing music on vinyl disks. The warriors of the Angry Marines used such devices to instill the nessecary rage and hatred required for them to function. Because nothing drives a marine into hostility than cheesy. crappy love songs.

Rageman had been a good Angry Marine, and he truly florished in his role as an Assault Marine, but when the time came to select recruits for the Deathwatch, they all thought it would be funny to send Rageman. To him, this wasn't so funny. But here he was, listening to his record and getting angry. He had gotten so angry, in fact, that he hadn't noticed the Valkyrie he was riding in had crashed into the ground.

"I thought I heard something, but I thought it was my FUCKING STOMACH!" Rageman said out loud to no one in particular.

He climbed out of the wreck and was fired upon. The sound was unmistakable. Only Ork Shootas could sound like an engine on the verge of breaking down. All this did, however was make Rageman more FUCKING ANGRY. He reached for his folding chair and ran at the directions the shots were coming from. He shouted, "ALWAYS ANGRY, ALL THE TIME!"

The Orks might have ignored one or two gunshots, but after the Space Wolf pumped a couple dozen autocannon shells into the undergrowth, and the Angry Marine charging into the general direction of the Orks, the Inquisitor wasn't so sure they would have the element of surprise anymore.
The Orks were upon them now. "All right Chaps, to hell with stealth. Let them have it!" The Inquisitor yelled, shooting an Ork in the chest, when the group of Orks charged through the bushes.

Wespe advanced, stomping forwards and standing in front of the Inquisitor, Ork bullets bouncing off his artificer armor. "No chance to impersonate as an Ork Kommando this time, Inquisitor." He remarked, firing his bolter into the crowd of Orks.
"There's always a next time." The Inquisitor replied, he assessed the situation, and determined that these Orks stood no chance. They would have to quickly move to their objective afterwords though...

As the first few Orks crashed through the underbrush, Kyros smiled.

After the crash,he had been the first one on his feet and had silently crept into the forest, preparing himself for the attack that was sure to come. He had not bothered checked on his fellow Astartes, trusting in their holy armor and genetic upgrades to see them through any damages they may have sustained. He had not bothered to check on the Guardsmen for lack of care, he did not see them as an asset, but as a liability.

He watched from his perch in a nearby tree as the surviving team members drug themselves from the wreckage and began regrouping. He shook his head in befuddlement when the Space Wolf sprayed the brush with his assault cannon. Under his helm, lip curled with contempt, he thought "They think themselves the Emperors most fearsome hunters? I will show them how a true predator kills!"

He watched as the Greenskins entered the clearing, a few falling to gunfire from the other survivors. As a group of 5 stomped below his positions he silently sprung into action. Leaping from the tree he let the bulk of his power armour slay the first as he landed on top of the rear Ork, armored boots reducing skull and collarbone to a wet paste. Flexing his hand his lightning claw flared to life, deadly electricity cracking between blades. As the other Orks slowly realized the menacing presence behind them, Kyros sprung forward.

Once a Shark had tasted blood, there is no stopping the frenzy. Kyros smiled again.

The Sternguard was not at all impressed with the Space Wolf. If anything he was disappointed in the fact that the fool not only ignored common sense, but just kept on shooting despite the warnings from everyone. When the Guardswoman acknowledged him, he merely gave the woman a curt nod before the Wolf brought the Orks onto them. He took a step in front of her, his bulk easily covering the woman, and then fired off a few shots as the Orks converged on certain points.

Truly, he was not too concerned. A few Sluggas were nothing for an Astartes, much less a Deathwatch Squad. Beneath the helmet, a grin spread over his face as he downed them with ease, the Hellfire rounds destroying their meager protection. These were bullets meant to destroy Tyranids. Orks stood no chance. Much less these unfortunate saps that barely held usable equipment. A grin spread over his face as he became engrossed by the battle, beginning to actually move around, bullets from Slugga pistols either missing him by centimeters or plinking off the edges of his armor. Each round he fired, another Ork fell, the burst usually taking down the first and the one next to him.

He could hear one noisily coming up behind him. Spinning as quickly as his armor would allow, the Marine raised a foot to kick it in the chest. The Choppa it held dinked off his leg as the Ork fell back, and then the green bastard was aflame as the Marine's under-barrel suddenly shot a burst of fire onto the beast. "Such a change of pace from sneaking around Tyranids!" he said over the gunfire, letting out a laugh. As he turned once more, his eyes set upon the Marine that had fallen upon a group of Orks. The Marine ignored him, the man would be fine. Instead, he turned his gaze around, searching for the Guardswoman. She was part of his squad, but lacked what the rest of them had. She would need help. Besides, her regiment was a friend of the Zetas. He had a debt to repay.

Aura was, admittedly, surprised when the Marine stepped in front of her to cover her from the Orks. She was a Guardswoman and was, therefore, more than used to the idea of expendability. Therefore, the thought that a Space Marine was going out of his way to protect her was strange. However, she utilized this by using the large Marine as cover, as was no doubt his intention. She raised the Hotshot and swapped to single-shot fire, since only one was needed to drop an Ork. The Hotshot Lasgun could pierce through the armor of the proud Space Marines, an Ork and whatever plating it had managed to scavenge to cover it's skull was nothing to the powerful weapon.

Soon however, the Marine began to move, leaving Aura to maneuver on her own. She began to utilize fallen Orks as cover, and dodged charging Orks with thought and her much smaller body. With a rapid slide to the right, a Rampaging Ork charged right past her towards the Zeta Marine. She leveled her weapon to aid him, however, his enhanced reflexes proved more than sufficient when his weapon covered the beast in Promethium. She then focused on dropping the Orks who were smart enough to use full-blown shootas and not just Sluggas and Choppas. Her rifle, accurate and deadly, sent lasers lancing out which dropped the enemy quickly and capably. It was then that she became aware of the Zeta Marine looking around, so she called out "Sergeant Kalstov over here sir!" To punctuate, she gave a light jump, making her black carapace armor plates clatter together slightly, and making her wince slightly as her chest pushed against the plating. Damn the Inquisition's requisition board and their slightly-too-small armor.

Firing wildly into the green tide, he saw the Guardswoman using bodies for cover. Firing at them, he roared to her "USE THE SHIPS HEAVY BOLTER!!!" he said, pointing with his boltgun to the Heavy-Bolter Turret in the side of crashed Aircraft. He then began giving her covering fire, as useful as she was with just that Hotshot Lasgun, there was no denying that a Heavy Bolter had a lot more firepower.

As much as Aura hated it, the Wolf had a point, the Heavy Bolter on the Valkyrie would do more to stem the coming tide that her hotshot. So, under his covering fire, she picked up from her current bit of cover, an Ork missing most of it's skull, and ran for the Valkyrie at a dead sprint. Arriving quickly, she slung the hotshot then jumped, getting herself into the crashed vehicle as fast as possible. She then strapped in to the door gunner's seat and checked the weapon's ammo feed. It was good to go, no shells damaged and the weapon itself was also fine. Aura gave a smirk beneath her carapace armor, and opened up.

In the way that only one who usually had to fight without them could, Aura adored heavy weapons. Her regiment, being a drop regiment, was often sent in without many of them after all. So, when she did have the chance to use a heavy bolter, such as now, she made sure to make the absolute most of it. So, once she first squeezed the trigger and adjusted to what recoil the weapon's mount didn't absorb, she promptly began scything down Orks as they emerged. She prioritized targets with the biggest guns, and as anyone of the Rangers would tell you, that was the most important thing to do with a Bolter of any kind. However, since scything down those specific Orks didn't take long, she then swapped to simply unloading into the biggest clusters, grinning as Mass-reactive explosive rounds shattered Ork mobs.
