Battle between Empty Armor and Takashi. Post time is two days.
Monolith Graveyard

Player Limit: N/A.
Description: An ancient place, the Monolith Graveyard contains massive metallic structures composed of many metals such as iron, steel, copper, gold, and silver. There are a total of 500 Monoliths which are evenly spaced from one another. All Monoliths are 33 meters apart and stand at a height of 80 meters, making them truly impressive structures. The humming noise released by the Monoliths may have a variety of effects, but these effects depend on the combatants present as well as their intentions and alignment. The Monoliths tend to favor whomever is the weakest or most disadvantaged and will play to their strengths, attempting to even out the match-up through field advantage. In most cases of evenly matched opponents, the Monoliths' merely hum, and the sound produces no effect other than focusing the abilities and minds of those present to a minor degree.

The Graveyard is called as such due to a new Monolith appearing for every combatant who falls through contest within their bounds. The Monoliths are spread out in 250 rows and 250 columns. Each column is 3 meters from one side to the other, As a result the Graveyard is utterly massive and gains size for every fallen combatant. Currently it is 9000x9000 meters.

Adversaries always start 60 meters away from one another. While the pillars are not indestructible, the materials that make them up attract one another and so will return to their base form and levitate to their normal location when not manipulated by other energies. The ground of the arena is mostly level and is composed of reinforced stone. The floor conducts vibrations fairly well.

Unique Traits: The Monoliths constantly emit a faint humming noise. As the intensity of events around them raises so does the volume of the deep hum. Once the both combatants have unveiled their true power or the fight has reached a level of great intensity the monoliths begin to levitate above the rock formations that typically hold them down. The structures will move slowly from platform to platform.

@EmptyArmor In your last post, I'm not understanding how Daniel's sword swing would get behind Talon. Upon impact, Talon was directly facing Daniel's sword arm. To bring it upon the nape of Talon's neck, he'd more or less have to be doing a 180 degree sidestep. If that's the case, that's fine, I just want to understand what movements I'm reacting to.

My bad, I meant that at impact, Talon pushes Daniel's left side back. As he does so, Daniel pulls his right arm back across his body, such that his own right shoulder is tilted towards Talon at roughly a 45 degree angle. My thought was that since Talon's right shoulder was angled to face Dan, a strike on the diagonal from left to right at the knight's perspective would be coming at the base of Talon's neck.

Is that any more clear? I may have misjudged Talon's dimensions, lemme know if I should make any more edits for clarity.

@EmptyArmor Ah, Gotcha. That makes a lot more sense now.

Yo, sorry for the misunderstanding, Daniel didn't actually charge, he placed an explosive charge on a monolith behind him. Dunno if that'll change your post much, but it seems important to clarify.

I'll make an edit to it today. I re-read it and I'm not sure why I thought Daniel was dashing forward again. lol.

@EmptyArmor Ok, I just made a slight tweak to the post. Nothing important changed.

Okay, I think that you've misunderstood my post. Daniel pivoted into Talon's momentum, rotating his body towards his own left side.

Daniel obviated the setup by simply pivoting into the dragon's charge, throwing all of its focused weight to his left as he turned like a door, and forcing its momentum back against the pillar behind him.

Furthermore, Talon should retain at least some momentum, based on the fact that he charged at Daniel. If that's absolutely not the case and Talon attempted to collect himself before grabbing the shield, there was no mention that he attempted to make his footing solid after his charge. Because of this, it's not unreasonable for Daniel to move Talon back as long as Talon's got a good grip on the shield, since Talon weighs roughly 400-500 pounds.

His strength is such that he can toss weights of up to five hundred pounds with relative ease, can push or kick loads of up to half a ton without apparent strain

Talon should definitely be able to react if Daniel resists the shield push, which he is, but that can't be done in the same instant as grabbing the shield, per:

Talon once again dashed forward to meet his opponent, but this time he did not intend to have a contest of brute strength.

@EmptyArmor The thing is, Talon never intended to continue going forward once he grabbed the shield. There was nothing preventing him from reaching his intended destination, nor was there anything pushing him after reaching it. Thus, there is no reason to think that he wouldn't be on stable footing after grabbing the shield. In terms of the brute strength, note that you said Daniel pivoted, not that he pushed Talon in any direction, so Daniel's strength does not come into play. Furthermore, in a contest of brute strength, it would likely be a stalemate:

They are also incredibly strong, able to hoist boulders over their heads and toss them.
Takashi

As for the reaction time, reacting to your character's movements is perfectly reasonable. After all, nobody just sits back in a fight and lets their opponent do whatever they want.

Alright, I hear what you're saying as far as Talon not having any real momentum, I probably read too far into that. My issues with the post are that Talon seems to be reacting to Daniel turning the in the wrong direction, that my post has Daniel trying to force a change in positioning. I'unno if it was clear, but I wrote that Daniel reacts to the grab by twisting his body and jerking Talon back before he has his shield forced down. Like you said, nobody just stands there and lets an opponent do whatever-- Daniel is resisting the shield push, not ignoring it.

@EmptyArmor Ok, so if your main issue is that you want my post to reflect more resistance to the shield being pushed down, I can edit that. I did reflect a change in positioning, though, that would result from the two of them pivoting.

Yeah, that would work to keep things as close as possible to what's already there. So, just to make sure I'm reading this right, the both of them have the pillar to the side, on Daniel's left and Talon's right?

@EmptyArmor OK, I did the edit. Changed a bit about the shield in the first paragraph, left the second paragraph the same. And the positioning you are imagining is correct.
