Digimon Collapse

December 19, 2015, 2:00 am. Small specks of white began drifting through the cold, crisp air, and landed on the frosty grass and pavement below. This was the first snowfall of winter, while most were tucked into their beds, a new blanket of snow would greet them in the morning. The wind howled through the trees, faint sounds of cars passing buy could be heard, but we weren’t near the road. Instead, we were on a park pathway, a sheet of snow already forming on everything that the crisp air could touch. There wasn’t a soul out on this night, which may be a good thing for what was about to happen. As silent as the area around them, something strange began to happen, pixels, distorting the surrounding area, began forming in a cluster. A pixelated figure began taking form, the shape was humanoid, for all but a tail that differentiated the figure from any other human being; the pixels, once in a gas like state, began to solidify, and a creature fell to the snowy ground.

A few minutes passed, before the creature blinked, finding itself in a rather cold and new environment, compared to where he had just been. In fact, where had he just been? The last thing he remembered was a forest, something had happened, so quickly and suddenly, and next he found himself in the snow! It took a moment for the chill of the air to settle in, the creature only sporting a pair of pants, he felt the breeze hit him like a car on the highway.
“B-burr…” It shuttered as it stood itself up, the fresh sheet of snow ruined by the creature’s three-toed footsteps. It began walking, arms around his body in a pathetic attempt to claim some warmth, and began looking for a place to shelter itself from the cold.

December 19, 2015, 2:25 am. It was as silent as it was cold, only traffic could be occasionally heard in the distance. Unbeknownst to all the populace there was a distortion in the physical space in a shed. In the shadows of the shed was a faint glow as cubic shapes started to gather, soon starting to appear a mix of purple and yellow without a distinct pattern. Not long after the mass of cubes started to seemingly organize, becoming a finer shape until it started to resemble some sort of a creature before finally seeming to melt together forming into a creature with no distinct cubes to be found.

After what had to be several minutes, the vaguely animal resembling creature perked its ears before its eyes shot open, busy taking in the surroundings. Memories came rushing, Being filled with blurry memories of a forest. These memories brought a feeling of urgency with them, he didn't know how to cope with the memories so he rather focused on the task at hand, he had to get to know his surroundings, lest he be in trouble if he had to be on the move. Briefly taking time to look back, making sure to remember the location of the shed be there need for it before being on his way as every moment could matter in an unknown environment.

19 December 2015, 0231. The snow drifted down, just beginning to cover the frozen ground in large patches of white. The sky was black, hidden by a sheath of grey clouds, giving an ominously dark appearance to the town. The breeze blew loudly through the trees, a sound broken only by the occasional car whisking by. For the third time in a seemingly unimportant night, the dull out-of-the-way town would become the site of an extraordinary occurrence. The house on the edge of the town's park lay blanketed in darkness, waiting. Suddenly, the air turned into a violent twister as a strange gas-like substance appeared and began coalescing into pixels. A mixture of brightly colored pixels coalesced into larger blocks, and the blocks into a strange figure. In little more than a minute, three dark claws dug into the freshly fallen powder.

The wind died back down as light appeared in the house's window. The creature's ears pricked up at the sound of some incomprehensible noise. Still dazed and disoriented, it turned and ran. With a surprising speed it bolted from the house, past a small row of trees, running deeper into the park. It settled in the cover of a tangle of leafless branches. Whatever was behind, if anything, would have been lost by now. After a moment the creature emerged, eyes wide and full of adrenaline. It's cape swayed in the wind, the crimson-red color seeming as dark as blood in the low light. After gathering its wits, it headed back in the direction it came, curious.

The sharp blaring of a freight train shattered the frosty silence in the tiny river-split mountain town. The shrill squeal its metallic breaks echoed against the sloping hills on which the houses had been built, crumbled remnants of much higher peaks. The engineer rubbed his eyes, as a strange gritty fog seemed to be collecting on the tracks several yards ahead. The freight train rumbled across a small overpass where the road dipped down sharply with the contour of the land. A moment later, and the strange mist was gone.
Against the harsh light of the large, loud figure in the distance in the dark night, the eyes of a squat, ragged looking frog-like creature, squinted. It muttered to itself, sneering at the rapidly approaching object.
"You wanna go?" the creature croaked, tilting its haunches forward.
Unnoticed by the train's engineers and conductors, the creature lunged forth, curling and beginning to spin.
Spiral Edge!
The creature went whirring forward, slamming directly into the oncoming train. With a soft thunk, the creature bounced off the cattlepusher, flung from the tracks. The force sent it bouncing down the hill, rolling on the streets, and skittering down the hill, before it bounced over the edge of a bridge path, and falling down a gorge into a river. With a harsh splash, the creature fell into the icy rapids, stunned for a moment, before it bobbed its head, staying in place with the kicking of its feet.

December 19th, 2015, 2:00am.
The snow was drifting quietly through the air, rustling the bare branches of a mighty large oak tree. The wind caused the branches to sway back and fourth in the blurry mix of snow and a coloured abnormality. Forming within the tree's branches was cluster of faint but rapidly moving substances that resembled both a gas and something much like a computer glitch. The scene was obscured by the gas-- or was it early morning fog? The computer like glitch appearing in the real world itself formed like a mishmash of pixels transforming colours from yellow, to black, to brown, to blue; until they merged together to form a shape a creature, a bug?

The scale varied from second to second, but it was as if a honeybee or a wasp stood prominently like a winter bird in the oak's protective arch. It's figure flickered in the darkness until it's size remained steady, almost comparable to the size of an average medium-sized dog. A pair of blurred wings began to stir into motion, and the creature launched itself into the air followed by a muffled buzzing noise, and trail of scattered pixels.

Man, each step this creature made, would make it feel as if the cold would swallow him whole! Each howl of wind brushing against his exposed body, and rendered him quite oblivious to his surroundings. At least, that was until he found himself stopped in the middle of the road; from the side, he glanced, and spotted two white lights approaching. Instantly, they stopped in front of the Creature, shining a better look in his appearance thanks to the headlights of the object.
“Hey! Get out of the road! I’ve got places to be!” It seemed as if the metallic beast was talking to him, little did he know that someone was inside that beast. The heat that radiated from the beam of light seemed to give him a small release from the colds grip, letting him drop his arms and look at the beast in front of him. Quickly, he jumped up, landing on the front window of the monster and managed to crack the hard surface. The monster let out two furious roars, scaring the creature and causing it to finally flee from the beast! On all fours now, it escaped into the small town that was on the other side of the road, looking for a place to hide.

Muddy fin flaps dragged the jagged creature from the rushing water onto a small wooded sandbar island in the middle of the river. The orange creature scowled, shaking its strange shaggy fur of water before dragging itself onto a tree trunk. After a few moments of angry muttering, he scratched himself with his back leg, considering how he could return to the upper level of the gorge.

A second of procrastination in the cold later, and the spike backed being waded past the unkempt grasses and into the water. Strong, deliberate kicks carried the creature across the current, as the fur repelled the cold. A coat wearing vagrant upon the bridge looked down for a moment, rubbing his eyes as he saw the jagged spikes sink into the water. The man's pace picked up, wanting to get some rest somewhere- preferably not in this town.

Winter was an ugly beast, and the yellow pixeliated creature was not equipped to handle the harsh temperatures. Shivering, the flying insect swooped down from the snowy sky into the dimly lit town. Figuring that in order to land safely with the howling winds pushing it around, the yellow creature stumbled downward into the vastly large, yet empty street; which had not yet been plowed. The creature buzzed, than tucked it's thin, translucent wings close to it's body, as if it could keep itself warm. The appearance of the large insect began to completely form. It was a bright sunflower yellow in colour, with brown strips lining it's torso. It had many legs, (about six appropriately) that varied between two sizes, with large brown claws on each end. It was also equipped with a large steel looking stinger on it's tail-end, and similarly coloured spikes on each side of it's torso. On top of it's head, cobalt blue anteni flopped down in front of it's round face.

The mere size the insect would be terrifying alone, but soft, frightened gaze of it's large green eyes told a different story.
"Oh dear," the yellow bug whispered to itself in a posh but feminine voice. "Where have I ended up?" She looked around her, absorbing her unfamiliar surroundings. The bug had seen buildings before, but the feeling of this place made her on edge. She couldn't explain it, but there was a difference to this town than other towns she had visited before. Despite the quietness and the low lighting of the night, the insect could sense that this place was truly. . . how could she explain it?

It was if this place was truly. . . alive.

Snow continued to fall from a seemingly unending ceiling of dark overcast. Occasionally a pale white light seeped through, momentarily, as quick to appear as it was to vanish. Silence lay like a blanket over the town, interrupted only by the scarce passing of what appeared to be a gleaming giant. The bright yellow eyes the creatures possessed were blinding as they reflected off the snow. A certain canine-like figure avoided them as much as possible. "B-B-Brrr..." he shivered while wading through the knee-high snow in the ditches lining the road.

He stopped in a particularly deep bank of snow to rest. What is happening? he asked himself, hoping that perhaps someone would hear his thoughts answer. It had, in fact, already proven to be a rather strange day, so why not? He thought back to his arrival. His journey back to the house had been near as quick as his escape. He saw the top of it through the trees and brush, a captivating light still creeping out of the window. He decided to approach it, despite his fear. Something emerged from a door carrying a reflective stick of some sort. From under the cover of a nearby branch he waited, before eventually deciding to come out. The creature turned to his motion. "Hi!" was all he could say before an extremely loud noise scared him half to death, exploding the snow bank closest to him. The creature screamed simultaneously, obviously startled, and ran back into the house. His ears rang violently as he ran again away from the homicidal maniacs that appeared to inhabit this world. "Scary..." he muttered quietly.

Thus, here he was now, acting on his decision to find a warm place to sleep, hoping it would not be as poor a choice as those prior. He noticed that the snow around him was beginning to turn to water, and pushed on. The lights from other buildings was not far now, and he hoped that one might provide safe refuge.

Taking care to look at his surroundings the creature notice large 2 eyed beasts going back and forth a path. they acted strange seeming to just come and go by paying little attention to anything else. He was interested in them, there were ones smaller, ones bigger and some way beyond others, there was also one very small and slim with something on top of it that possibly had tame it.

Following the path carved by the beasts he wandered along taking care to not get too close. as the path ended to an area fenced with liked metal there were barely any such thing to be sighted. Upon closer inspection it seemed that the place was producing electricity. "You wanna try me do ya?" he said charging his tails readying to shoot at the electric thing that seem'd to be sparking.

He was about to shoot when a loud bang immediately followed by a strong impact next to him interrupted the duel, forcing the creature to back away "What was that thing?" said the thing that had taken to attacking at the creature. "Too close, I'll need to be more careful. I'll need to fight that thing sometime" the creature said making his way back out of the fenced area.
