Heheheh...finally, Shashous paying attention to me...I needed some dead monster to cheer me up today after fixing my car. This is just the thing.

....
Except he wasn't tearing -_-
Crushing doesn't equal tearing, plus it would still bloody hurt if someone tugged or crushed their tail in his grip. TBH if it wasn't for Yami, he would've bit the damned tail as well.
And I never said he had the same strength as him, going toe to toe easily was my way of saying he probably has the highest physical strength. But in close quarter combat he would lose to you simply because he can't match the reflexes.

Also I believe we left the mid-strength range of fighting.

Crushing is raw compression, tearing is compression plus torque. Arguably tearing is worse, though James could still certainly bruise up Shash. Squeezing the tail off is unlikely though.

Crushing would hurt, but I doubt it would cause permanent damage unless one side relaxes. For example, arm wrestling. Both people are squeezing each other's hands pretty hard, and it certainly might hurt, but there is no chance of permanent damage unless one side overexerts or completely relaxes without the other doing the same.

And anyway, it doesn't matter. He is dead. I just got back from Star Wars, I killed a primal vampire...this has been a good night. Now...how the heck will I kill that other vampire...Yami, what might I be able to see with my ethereal sight?

Youd be able to see which shadow im in, and roughly where I am but similarly to looking into water there'd be a certain amount of deflection

But how would I see it? Is it as if you are present, but contained entirely within the shadow, or is it like the shadow is just a hole leading to where you are, or what?

Oh come on...I spend the last five minutes composing a post, then I post it and Doc already posted something that entirely negates it! Welp...time to edit.

So, because I stated it in a manner that seems otherwise on my character sheet, I am acting as if my Ethereal sight is in fact only limited to vision, however the manner in which it was originally intended...and which I will edit to reflect on the original version of my character sheet not being used in this battle...is that it is in fact a total surround sense sort of thing when he closes his eyes. But as I said...irrelevant to this battle.

Please note that when in ethereal form, those shadows mark him at all time, leaving a shadowy trail. And the sound is basically projected via magic directly into the minds of those nearby, fading or increasing based on distance, but ignoring direction.

Basically it would be like looking down into a distorted version of a pond, you could see roughly where I am but it would flicker like an old tv

Huh. That would be problematic. Luckily it is no longer a factor.

Excuse me but your etherial vision SHOULD NOT be able to map that, it is neither magical nor living. And I must ask you to refrain from meta-gaming.

Also I must remind you it was SUPPOSED to be LOW powered.

"along with the shadows of physical objects in the ethereal plane."
Not as well as my natural vision, but still doable. However if you get me into actual combat, I will in fact be impaired due to the difficulty of seeing my surroundings.
Also, I didn't believe I was...could you clarify?

You and I were sorta left in the dust by the two shadow-types, eh? James instantly sucked into an early insta-defeat, and Shash only managing to scrape by through sheer craftiness. I think a good idea would be for the battle to progress to a point where Crual and Jazmine can fight each other. Perhaps by then Shash would be wounded to the point of being in the same state James is, and then we can have an evenly matched fight as well.

I concur. I actually had kinda thought that had happened for a minute...but then Shash was only playing dead, and the battle suddenly went on.

Sorry for the late reply to your request of proof. Now I might've misinterpreted something here but this I view as meta-gaming. But the fact your character just automatically assumed he was heading to his lair, instead of just retreating to try and get an advantage elsewhere. Like granted he went, hmm retreating? Trap?
But then he jumped straight to lair, how did he know that he didn't the thing wasn't just retreating to somewhere else? Like yes, I understand the reasons which were named but he didn't think there was somewhere else in the forest he could've been luring him to?
@Doc Doctor
Well you see that's what happens when you plan for a low powered fight and then it's instant mid-tier and now high powered. James never stood much of a chance in the first place, but I wouldn't worry about him. He has a trick up his sleeve I just don't have anything to post with at the moment XD

Far, very far from high powered, mind you. Low mid-tier by the local standards, just fyi.

I fail to see the difference in those two options. One is his lair, the other is...simply a lair-like place. I assume that if he is planning on retreating and setting up a trap, he would do so where he is strongest. That is his lair, unless he has somewhere else special in mind. Especially since other creatures have a habit of doing similar things. The place where he can best gain an advantage, set up a trap, retreat to, etc...would be his den. So...he could have been luring me elsewhere, but then I'd simply assume the elsewhere is his lair, whether it is or not. That is how I see it.

And yeah...what Vordak said is what I've been going on. High tier is angels, demons, and star-killing robots duking it out on fields filled with the bloody piles of the corpses of their disposable minions. Or so I would guess. And besides...I would say it is pretty much balanced out. I'm pretty sure Cruallassar is the most powerful person here, and yet he is teamed with the weakest. Which means the teams are basically even.
