Hey, guys. I just wanted to let you know, especially @Exit, that I'm still interested in joining this, if I'm allowed to.
I'm not dead, I just sort of got close. I was in an accident... I'm somewhat fine, though. I got away with just a couple of broken ribs, some minor damage to my intestine, a shitload of scratches and a totaled car. At least there was no damage to my spleen, which I actually just got a new one of (or, well, a used one, really) a couple of years ago because of another accident I had as a kid (or teenager, whatever).

So, I'd like to join, if that's cool with everyone. Things might be a bit slow the first couple of months, but I'll try my best to get back into it.

@Medusa Nice Job! Love the reference to Koh the Face Stealer and it's relation to her and Zen.

@The Mad Hatter Hey! I'm so sorry to hear what happened to you. Hope you're recovering well. Don't worry about the absence. If you're still interested, feel free to submit a character! Since we're still early in the game, you didn't much of anything.

I'll have a post up either tonight or tomorrow. My next post will cover the explosion and describe the affected areas which will include the soup kitchen and kick off some major events in the Middle Ring as well. Look forward to that.

So i seem to have a bad habit of doing my work on this site and pressing the wrong buttons and losing all my work. Post is up but because of a few hiccups It took longer than expected and then of course Star Wars came out yesterday so that ruled out putting up my post last night. (Movie was amazing by the way).

Did some final edits and last minute changes and now it's up.

So a few things about this explosion: Everyone in the game should have seen the beam of light but only those in the lower ring will have felt it. The shockwave is not unlike that of an EMP for electronics running on Synergy. All power is out in the area. Because it amplifies all forms of spirit energy, those who are sensitive to it are effected. Potential benders can now bend, permanently. Those who already know how to bend may accidentally start bending without meaning to though this effect is temporary and will last for a very short amount of time.

The shadow thing and the Pink mist. The idea here is that because of the imbalance in the Human and Spirit Worlds, spirits are being effected negatively turning them into Dark Spirits like those from the series. This one is one of the more dangerous spirits... it's a piece of the Fog Spirit from the Valley of the Fog of Lost Souls.

"The Fog of Lost Souls is a boundless prison for humans located within the Spirit World. It is inhabited by a sentient fog spirit that can infect the minds of individuals, effectively driving them insane by imprisoning them in their own darkest memories."

For the purposes of our game, this spirit has graduated beyond just driving people insane. Because it's sentient and it feels the misery from the misuse of spirits, it has become enraged itself and now transfers that rage to those it effects. Victims become mad and are filled with a considerable thirst for vengeance and murder.

The pink mist is only visible in the immediate area around the blast radius and will dissipate rather quickly but not before affecting a few individuals. These individuals will need to be put down. Because RSF security forces will not be able to get to the scene in time, TWO of those affected will reach the soup kitchen. Have fun :D

The shadow is for now a visual representation of the Fog Spirit controlling them. It will dissipate when the individual is put down. As a side note, calming the attached spirit will cleanse the person and essentially save them, but no one can do that at the moment.

Also just wanted to throw this out there for anyone who is writing a post for the Lower Ring. If you want to play the two individuals who have been invaded by the spirit and are arriving at the soup kitchen, the easiest way for me to describe their behavior would be to label them a type of zombie. Think 28 Days Later.

Keep in mind that no one has to do this. I'll be taking control of them and their actions in my next post but I wanted to leave it open for someone else to play around with.
