Greetings fellow Roleplayers!
I'm back in the game again... almost. Exams are coming up, so right now I'm too swamped to do any serious RPing. But in around three weeks, I'm on break again for a while, and totally in the mood for some roleplaying! Since I'm so pumped already, I've decided to start scouting ahead for a suitable 1x1 RP-partner.

Some general info to me:
>> I'm a male, and I prefer to play males, especially in 1x1. That's just my style^^
>> For the sake of 1x1, I usually prefer my partner to be female, since it shakes things up and allows for the possibility of romance in the plot. Not that I'm averse to a good bromance every once in a while, but right now that's not what I'm looking for^^
>> My writing style varies widely depending on my schedule and/or mood. I switch between speedily written short paragraphs shot back and forth, to elaborate posts of a page or more that I put a LOT of work in and may take me a week to write. So I hope you can deal with my erratic pace, and I'll try to adjust myself to you as best as I can too^^
>> I'm not an exceptional writer, but I try to keep my posts clean of typing errors, and I usually enjoy a certain level of depth in our stories, in both characters and plot.
>> And now the most important part: I don't bite^^ I'm just a (not-so) normal university student in his early twenties, looking for another weirdo to throw words at a screen with, in the hopes of ending up with a fun story.

What I'm currently looking for:
I'm looking for an RP-partner who, like me, is bubbling over with creativity and ideas they want to get out. If you enjoy character based stories with unique, flawed characters and an engaging, emotional story with a decently deep plot to wrap it up with, we're good to go!
As far as the RP itself goes, I'm currently feeling like something along the lines of an anime/manga style story, with a fantasy adventure themed story... or maybe some sci-fi. We can totally discuss any ideas you have over PM, I'm very open to other ideas (as long as I get to throw mine back at you :P). If you enjoy anime that would be great, since right now I'm really in the mood for something with that particular feel to it.
Other general topics that interest me:
>> Urban Story - 20th/21st century themed story, either in our world (Europe/US/Japan..) or in a fictional world similar to ours.
>> Medieval Fantasy - Anything from traditional sword-and-sorcerer medieval fantasy, to a story with a different theme (asian/egyptian/greek..). The fantasy element can vary as far as I'm concerned, from flashy, obvious magic, to more subtle tones where magic or a greater force is but implied.
>> Sci-Fi - Science Fiction, anything from pew-pew spaceships to a more urban story. What I personally love is a character based story that, while set in a sci-fi themed surrounding, makes the sci-fi part merely a setting, and focuses more on the intricate relationships between characters and zooms in on plot on the immediate surroundings of our characters. Same goes for almost every genre, but it felt fitting to write it here. While I enjoy big, world/universe changing/threatening stories where our characters are the "unexpected" (haha) saviors/heroes, I prefer quiet, emotionally charged stories with a plot focused on what's going on inside and around our characters life.. What moves them, what makes them tick, with events in the story affecting and changing them. I could go on...
>> Steampunk - Bring your steam propelled rockets, leather jackets and flying ships, I'm ready!
>> Science-Fantasy - possibly one of my favorite genres. Traditional fantasy, mixed with powerful Sci-Fi themes. Think swords and sorcerers and magic, but with big cities fueled by a magic kind of energy and complete, highly developed societies. The degree and ratio of fantasy to Sci-Fi can greatly vary, with places that look like our world or a futuristic world at first glance, but with magic! To places that are strongly medieval fantasy or Victorian-era themed, with elements that you would find in a modern or futuristic society (such as a Democratic system, or technical advances like trains or hover ships.

General Story Ideas I have:
>> [Anime themed] - Medieval/Science-Fantasy themed story about two teenage travelers with differing ambitions and goals, who end up traveling together for... reasons. I have no clear cut story there yet, but it would probably take place in a fantasy or Science-Fantasy themed surrounding. Since it's a story about two travelers, it would mostly focus on our two characters, with a bunch of secondary, recurring characters, so we can go full blown character building on this one! It's about their goals, their hopes and dreams and about the budding friendship as they try to get along on their journey. Maybe they have something fundamental they disagree on, maybe there is something looming at the end of their journey that has the potential to split them. Maybe there's a dark secret one of them has to keep from the other, while simultaneously growing fond of them. Maybe both of them have secrets, and their different pasts are certainly going to play their part as well.. I'm getting excited just thinking about the storytelling possibilities here! What will happen? Let's find out!
>> Project: Gaia [Possibly anime themed]This is a story that's been brewing in my head for quite a while. The idea is that our world in the (not so far) future has become increasingly crowded. As a result of growing global consent that planet earth is reaching its limits as far as the human population is concerned, the world government has started a joint effort to colonize a newly discovered planet that is in the green zone around its sun, can support life and appears to be uninhabited. In order to colonize the planet, a worldwide effort was called into action to build a series of spaceships equipped with the groundbreaking antimatter drive, that would carry its passengers on their two year journey to their new home. This was twenty-three years ago. Eight years ago, the first wave of Farmers, Builders and Engineers was sent out to the planet on the MARIA I, to set up the colony and set in motion the city building process. The next wave, four years ago, consisted of Specialists and Scientists in many other fields, like Doctors, Biologists, Chemists, Physicists, Programmers, City Planers and so on. These two waves formed the backbone of a strongly growing colony, sending back word that Gaia was well on its way to become Humanities new home.
Now where does our story start and how do our characters fit in? I was thinking that our story starts a few months or weeks away from the take-off of MARIA III, the third ship in the row. The idea was that our characters were planning to/wanted to get on that ship, to travel to Gaia. Maybe we can split it up into three parts, a prologue of sorts taking place on earth, a middle part on the ship as they travel to Gaia, and a third part, where they actually arrive on the planet. We can still discuss how much work/time we put in each part, maybe we completely drop the middle and/or last part and make it all about getting on the ship, or maybe that part is really just a prologue and we focus on the journey or how they arrive there and their new life on Gaia.
More details: The upcoming third wave of colonists is mostly going to consist of Politicians, Diplomats, Bureaucrats, Judges, Policemen, and, to the great disdain of many, military personnel. I was thinking that our characters, or at least one of our characters, would not exactly have the skills or the money to fit on that ship. I had this latent idea that our characters were children/teenagers from different families, one of which fits perfectly (Politician/Rich family) and one character from an average, working type or even dirt poor family. A familiar theme, set in a new environment.
For the richer/luckier character, the relocation would be an expected, leisurely transition from their current, overcrowded planet to a different, less crowded planet. Not that they actually feel any of this in their immediate surrounding. It's just a question of convenience, like moving states to get better air, or nicer neighbors, where everyone isn't always going on about this 'climate change' thing that's not exactly noticeable if you live in a mansion on one of the cloud cities hovering over the planet, thanks to its fusion propelled engines.
For the other character, the MARIA III is their last chance, possibly in years, to escape their current life of poverty/being mistreated/on the streets/with poor parents. Maybe they fled home because their parents are cruel and are on their own, or their parents are good people, but with no hope to better things. This character works extremely hard, possibly in shady territory to get their ticket and secure a brighter future on Gaia.
How do we tell this story? Not sure yet. Especially about the first part where they live in different surroundings and haven't actually met yet. Maybe we can cook something up that they meet by chance while still on the planet and the luckier character somehow ends up taking the unluckier character with them on the ship (maybe because of affection, or through extortion, or simply because they think the other one is fun to have around, or because they want them to work for them as a human toy/maid/butler... many many possibilities^^). Or maybe we break the story up into a prologue, where they don't meet, and we play this prologue by introducing secondary characters in each characters life that are played by the other player. Then, in the First chapter, when they actually get on the ship, they meet and we weave the two separate parts of the story together.
Whew, that was a lot to just jot down like that. I have a great many more ideas, but for the moment, I'm going to leave it at that. If you have a general interest in RP-ing with me, even if it's not about one of the two story ideas, feel free to PM me!
