So after seeing a video about how some of the Ubisoft games were tied together to one and the same universe, I couldn't help but wonder how cool it would be to have something similar as Marvel did with the Avengers and DC-comics with the Justice League, but then using Ubisoft characters in a modern day setting. This brought me to the idea of

Ubi-verse
So the basic idea is that there is one big corporation (Abstergo, or maybe even something bigger behind that one, just gonna call it 'the Organisation' for now to make it simple) secretly pulling the strings in almost everything we do in modern day life. However, there are a few people who dare to stand up against this threat. Most of these persons know this threat for ages, some only learned about it recently and others don't even know who or what they are facing. However, they all share the same goal: to take down this group of people trying to take over the world. Even though their opinions on how differ from eachother, even inside the groups themselves, they know they have to work together, as this enemy is probably the biggest challenge they have ever seen in their lives.
I've split up the characters into a few categories. Remember that if someone isn't as good at something he can still do things involving it!
It is also possible to be a bad guy! For those we use the same groups, just other guys. As an example, instead of having Assassins as the main example for the Descendants, you would have the Templar Order AKA Abstergo.
These are people who's ancestors faced threats like the Organisation in one or more of its earlier stages and continue to do so as well. As the Descendants have a lot in common with their ancestors, they mostly share unique possibilities and fighting styles. For instance, the Assassins, one of the more experienced groups in facing the Organisation, have inherited 'Eagle Vision' and unmatched close range combat skills, but because they lack the experience with modern day weaponry and technology compared to the other groups, they can't handle those areas very well.
These are modern day people who faced something in their lifes what made them turn against the system. These people have honed the skills they already had and maybe even learned some new ones. Take as example the Chicago Hackers. These people, no mather what their reason to choose this path was, started to use their technologic skills to either settle a personal vendetta or just make the world a better place. They are great technological experts, yet lack the combat training like the other groups have.
These are combat trained personal ranging from anti-terrorism units to spec ops. Following their ideals, they try to help those in need, and get those who harm others put to justice. One of these groups of people are the Ghost Recon, people who know how to use modern to advanced weaponry, but lack the close combat training.
After being in the wild for a long time, facing the deadliest side of mother nature, these people know how to kill. They mostly don't want to ever return to those places, but the wild keeps calling for them and they know it. There is no good example for this group, as many of them have faced danger alone. However, they mostly know how to use a gun, yet not as good as most Soldiers. They know how to use melee combat, yet not as good as the Assassins. They know a thing or two about technology, yet not as much as the Hackers. To put it short: the survivors are a mix of everything, making them overal good, but not great in anything particular.
(this group is a pending one. I'm not sure if people will like it to have this one in this RP, but just to make sure, I have them here anyway.) For the characters who are even in the normal Ubisoft universe considered a game, through the world-traveling paintings Rayman discovered, they somehow still got into this one. As their name state, they are the game characters who seem to be too unrealistic to really exist, yet here they are. As no two Games are the same, there is not really anything that they have in common skill-wise, making them more of a left-over but also variable group.
It is also possible to be a bad guy! For those we use the same groups, just other guys. As an example, instead of having Assassins as the main example for the Descendants, you would have the Templar Order AKA Abstergo.
It is true that it is kinda based of the same idea, yet because those are comic book superheroes and these are Game Characters, there is a whole different kind of personality and action involved.
Even though it has similarities, a colliding game world RP is based around multiple universes clashing with eachother, while this RP is based on just 1 already existing universe, making it much less awkward. Besides, the characters are already made in a way that they can interact with eachother, which for normal CGW RP's isn't the case.
A: Even though I admit stealth would be a more preferred weapon of choice of the Assassins, if you look at other Ubisoft games, those are most of the time also stealth based. Splinter cell, some Ghost Recon games, even Watch_Dogs and Far Cry are most of the time stealth based, making it less unique to Assassins to be all stealth based. It makes more sense for modern day Assassins to use close range combat, as I haven't seen any of the modern Assassins in the games use any ranged weapon unless you think the Piece of Eden as one, and they learned combat from their ancestors, which was most of the time in a period without guns, leave alone modern ones.
A: It's true that Soldiers get trained in close range combat. However, they should get easily overruled by Assassins when it comes to a 1vs1 fighting duel. Also, I'm basing this on what happened in the Ubisoft games, and not counting quicktime button press events, there is not much melee based fighting among Soldier class games.
The time is 2016 (AKA modern day setting), and as for the place: planet Earth. Why so vague about the place? That's because the Organisation has the whole Earth under its control, which means the groups of the Ubi-verse need to gather everyone around the world and fight anywhere on the planet.
A: No. You can not play as any character that has been deceased or isn't able to exist in the modern time, so no characters from games set in the future unles you play their younger selves (if their age allows to). Also, even though they are considered games in the normal Ubisoft universe, Animus technology games are not able to get through the world-paintings, which makes it not able to have an ancestor be reborn as a Game. This means no Ezio Auditore, guys.
Yes you can! I even encourage original characters, although it is not out of the question to play a character that already exists in the Ubisoft universe. As long as (both orginal and already existing) characters follow the rules I made in the question before this one, they are able to get accepted!
A: Anything that also appears in the game it originates from. Later on in the RP you can even have gear from other games as well, but for now it's just limited to the max level gear someone from that game can have. I recommend being realistic though, as carrying a full arsenal is going to slow you down a lot. Besides, having a full loadout from the start doesn't leave much space to make your character grow which could make RP'ing less fun.
A: It's modern day setting, and it's based of Ubisoft games. So yes, there will definitely be radio towers.
So that is the idea till now. If you like this, please reply and remember that this is far from the final idea, so if you want me to add/change/remove anything, please reply as well!
