Okie dokie, here's the sales pitch, please feel free to ask questions, comment or the like. I swear on the Emperor's chiselled jawline that this will be my last attempt at a 40K RP for quite some time!

Anyway, here we go...

I'm envisioning a 40K RP that sticks to lore, but doesn't take itself too seriously, an RP about an out-of-time Astartes - perhaps more than one - and his group/crew/posse/retinue of dubiously questionable persons.

In brief, we would be a renegade/pirate/anti-hero crew, not pure Chaos worshippers but not lawful folk either.

We would have space shenanigans against pretty much everyone, fight for coin, raid for coin...slaves...tech..., more in-depth scenarios, and it would give me time to figure out an overarching storyline too.

This will not be a comedy, but nor will it be all doom-and-gloom, just think of Blackbeard in space...or the Punisher in space...or Treasure Island in space...or even a really grimdark version of Star Trek.

I need a crew of scurvy dogs, women and even men, are ye with me?

If this interests you at all, please feel free to say so; I am looking for high casual/advanced standards, but those that can hack it are just as welcome.

What about a half crazy navy commissar that is tasked with keeping the more ordinary members of the crew in check?
I know it's pretty tame, but I think that everything warhammer needs at least one insane commissar to up the level of bad-assery.

Make him a not terminator, and you've got a deal.

I will ask that all character's start at mid-tier/level - means no termies (yet), no psykers capable of summoning daemons with a click of the fingers, and no one-man armies. Over time he may become that powerful, we may be able to loot/steal/take a suit of terminator armour, but that's all in the future...for the moment.

@Jbcool It might as well be Terminator armour as any armour worn by a notable Thousand Son would've been effectively Artificer Armour.

As for the instant Daemon summoning I'll be sure to balance it don't worry, I've run Thousand Son characters more than a few times. :P

I'm new, but I'm interested. What came to mind was a soldier that has taken more than his fair share of injuries, and is bitter about this and at having to run with such brigands, yet has no choice as it is his only available source of income. Perhaps slightly space famous for having survived against impressive odds with two mangled legs and an arm, the remaining arm being used to fire his pistol into those that continued to come down the corridor at him. Grumbles at almost everything.

Thoughts?

I don't know what I am saying. You'll notice I do that with varying frequency depending on how much I've had to drink and how tired I am...

Just mangled and unusable at the time, not necessarily unhealable or in need of complete replacement. Plenty of scars and the pain can add to his bitterness.
