So I leave this, though it may be small, piece of my world for you. My name is Alexandra Thortan. I was a young noble girl when the war hit the world. We were beautiful then, a little short of peace. There was a need of for protection from the basic needs of creatures. However, they were just trying to survive. Taking a human life was no different than picking a stoke of corn for them. Dragons, elves, wolves, shape shifters, they were all apart of my world. I'm uncertain if they will be apart of yours. Every life is beautiful and worth living. Please don't think you are worthless. You have survived and thats more then what many others will say.

It started on the first snow fall two hundred cycles ago (200 years ago in winter). The kings of the four different regions, Aron of the Ash, Tristen of Reforia, Felix of Resthaven, and Samona of Ferox, decided that they were no longer happy with their land. In a battle of resources and land they went to war. This will be the death of my world, and hopefully it will bring beauty to the start of yours. I pray you will never have to see this war. Fields, trees, mountains, painted red and black with death.

This letter is everything that we now have left of this world. Everyone knows the stories that are whispered through the rocks of our worlds. The trees buzz with old stories of how they housed millions of creatures in their lifetimes. However, this letter is missing one very important fact. The fifth nation, The Pray, the paradise that wasn't affected by the war. I will get there one day. To bask in the sun without worry of melting in what is now the Ash. To swim in clear water. I will find this place, and hopefully I will find someone to share this place with.















Welcome everyone to Finding the Pray. My name is VerusEbuillo, Ebby is perfect, unless quoting is needed of course. I might periodically update this portion, but I will let you know. We can also use this section for a bestiary once we get going. I will state now that I love to inspire creativity in my fellow role players, and feedback is awesome. If you think I am missing something or that something just in not right. Let me know via pm and I can correct it, or simply explain our logics on an issue.

Once we have established our crew and began the role play I would love to put the status of my role players. For example, if you are going away for Christmas, or don't think you can get to the computer for the week Christmas and new years are on, perfectly fine. As far as affecting him... I was thinking that his land would have had attempts at occupying for either side, possibily due to it being a strategic point, something like a chance to turn the tide of war in favor of either side but due to him neither side could grab hold of it in fear of his wrath. So after many attempts from both sides they gave up on it and left it as the scorching earth it is known now to be. There had been romours of a thing that would come in the form of a man baring no banner or armour but arrows bounced off his chest and sword break on his skin. He could take on legions and leave the battlefield littered with blood, gore and Flames before turning into a, what many described as an abyssal black winged creature who's size was only as large as the night itself. Among dragons however, he is known as Duraan do Dovah, The Devourer of Dragons. He gained this moniker from a point in time where he would eat and swallow whole dragons that entered his territory. Some say that he has gone into slumber and the next time he awakens it will be the end for all.

Now I was going to make him a brother but I've been using his brother in other RPS so this time I'll play him.

@FallenTrinity Correct me if I am wrong, during the war, he stayed into his land and defended it against the sides that attacked him. Killing those who tried until they gave up. This works out perfectly, I have no issues there. I do actually like the fact that he could maintain a piece of his home.

Just remember to have some weak points. Maybe a certain strength of metal, or possibly magic. Also how the living alone for 1000 years, with everyone who comes into contact trying to kill him. It could make for a learning experience when he has to face what the rest of the world has become, and the people there.

History:

The Order of Saint Vazius

The war saw some of the greatest atrocities and abuse of magics to be seen since time
immemorial. As situations grew dire many orders and guilds were created to combat the many threats of Ferox. A renowned order headed by the very religious daughter of the Queen of Ferox. Taking its name from an old Saint of Righteous Fury, the order was created. Such the first Grand Master of the order, Godella fought tooth and nail for her mother against the unholy abberations that vile sorcerers and cultists spawned. It seemed they were making progress, until the world finally broke, mass confusion and hysteria ensued as nations fell. The Order became fragmented with varying beliefs and values. Some even degenerated into petty banditry. The first Grand Master, Godella had long been dead by the end of the war, and splinter groups had little reason to reconnect. Still Godella's only child Farus, attempted to keep true to his mother's teaching and he and his successors of The Resthaven Chapter, remained the most unchanged since it's formation 800 years ago.

Resthaven Chapter

As the war was well under way, the order needed foot holds in other countries. As trade collapsed between Ferox and Resthaven it was all the more apparent for the local Chapter to protect fleeing civilians. As the war progressed at first they took some families into the monastery complex forming a small village of sorts, but as supplies dwindled as trade died, they began turning many away. While they still provide protection for travelers and serve to killing stray aberrants, they shy away from directly sheltering the people of Inculto. Today they are a sheltered and hermited order on a desert mesa, looking over the vast wastes. Its populace today are culturally Ferox practicing the old beliefs and traditions, and thinking of the native Incultonians as savages that need to be saved and reformed to proper Feroxian ways.

Their method of securing the surrounding deserts were largely based on old military doctrine where Paladins would lead Knights and their sergeants to forcefully pacify land, which due to the terrain and climate lead to very little gain for such a large investment. As such this tactic led to greater and greater apathy to the native populace. It wasn't until under the initiative of a few young Sergeants and Skirmishers, that they began sending light patrols in greater numbers (who are followed by a heavier contingent if need be) thus greatly expanding their area of operation. While they saw greater loss of life within individual members, than the old turtling display of force, they have served to protect Inculto humans, and more importantly root out dark creatures.

Today the Chapter works to rid abominations (saving natives being a secondary objective), but rumors of a promised holy land are too much to pass up. They periodically send lone, but skilled scouts to look for the fabled Pray in order to blaze the trail for future pilgrimages, or mass exodus if needed.

Godric

Godric was descendant of one of the few Inculto families that were sheltered within the monastary. As such he and his kin forever hold the Order in high regards and giving utmost loyalty to the Chapter Master. Part of a long line of Order Sergeants, they are less armored than the Order Paladins and Knights, but still pack the skill and mettle to be feared in combat. As part of the bulk fighting force of the order he participated in many daring hunts, raids and relief efforts under the few Order Paladins and Knights. While he himself will never lead on a white charger, in shining plate, or holy vestiges, both his subordinates and superiors recognize his skill and valor. It was made most apparent when learning of a Paladin's dire situation with undead monstrosities in the waste, he personally led a small force of eager sergeants and skirmishers. With no heavy or chaffing armor to bog them down they swiftly crossed dunes and dust to provide ready support in rebuking the corrupted souls. In honor of his initiative and accomplishments going above the call of duty, he was awarded a "Hallowing Dagger" usually reserved exclusively for the noble families of Paladins and Knights by the Grand Master himself. He spent the following years leading light-foot patrols around the desert greatly expanding the influence of the Order.

In recent memory the Order has been sending out small bands of lightly armored troops to patrol the deserts, but just a few moons ago Godric was in-tasked with finding a possible route to (or even just confirming the exsitance of) The Pray.

Today his Quest Begins.
