I think having two different laser weapons is a bit too much, but then again that's my two cents. How about one rifle and change attachments if and when needed?

That's actually a pretty good idea; and I like the concept of on the go crafting.

I'm only hesitant about that because why would someone carry a weapon that would be so hard to alter in a battle?

Additionally Laser Rifles can be found in abundance throughout the Wasteland as the games have indicated. I mean if you can acquire a Laser Rifle for 70 caps is it that ridiculous that my character would've acquired two and the resources to alter them?

I can see someone who's primarily a stealthy, infiltrator sniper primarily relying on his long-range laser rifle, and it could be passed that the rifle was heavily modded to allow for a very quick switch-between - of course, this isn't to say another rifle couldn't be picked up along the line.

Okay then, I was just thinking it wouldn't really fit my character to have him stopping and swapping barrels using a screwdriver half way through a fight.

Hell man just be creative. You've seen the inventions/technology in fallout. I'd even be willing to buy a screw top barrel atatchment type weapon-and what i mean by that is extended/shortened barrels that could literally be interchangeable by merely unscrewing whichever barrel was atached at the time and rescrewing the appropriate barrel for desired distance.

Id also like to say Im very well aware that "barrel" doesn't apply to laswer rifles, but I know there is a corresponding part. I have just drunken far to much wine to properly discuss this.

Just updated the map; added some bodies of water, the Glowing Bog, and an island off the coast. Hoping to finish it soon, but figuring out the roads are a pain with seemingly no map without labels covering streets.

@OrdureYou've got my interest, though I want to run my character by you first. My idea was an NCR Scout who was separated from his squad, and found his way to the Orleans area.

That NCR scout must've wandered pretty far from his squad; if the explanation for his wanderings is reasonable enough for how south he got, then I'll fully accept it.

@OrdureMy idea was that his unit had been tracking some raiders up north, he was captured, escaped, and found himself reaching Orleans by mistake through lack of unfamiliar territory. I can go into more detail if need be.

It's a pretty long distance, so going into detail would be preferred. As long as it makes sense - it's fine.

I am totally not trying to say anything against this idea-I think its completely feasible if done right. That being said, that is an awfully long way out for NCR troops-even one that got lost due to terrain. You gotta think that chances are they would run into someone well before Orleans that would be like "Your totally not going West"

I think a way more believable reason any NCR would be out that ways (If you really want to be NCR) would simply be scouts: individual men and women (or small groups) who are not openly NCR but covertly scout out possible "Places of Interest" for future NCR "Reconstruction Projects."

Again though, thats just my 2 cents-tonight its the drunken ramblings of shnapps.@Ordure@Lord Coake

A former slave, an NCR colonist and a Vault Dweller Half-Ghoul... Sounds like the makings of a bad joke.

@Tuxedo FoxThat works rather well for what I had planned actually, if the GM is fine with it, that's probably what I'll go with.

Wow. Just skimmed the opening post...nice. Real nice. Is this RP still open? And where do I post my character sheet if it is?
