Looking at the awesome map, I wonder how large Periphery is. Is every line a simple two lane street, or a massive eight lane freeway? I'd say with a queen as the ruler and with a huge flow of funding and goods required to constantly build up a wall, then the larger the better. More like a nation-state than a regular city. The four curves at each cardinal direction could be major support beams, maybe individual districts with their own governor or mayor that have micro-cites built around them. Maybe slums?

@Eodwyn Aether mentioned the queen's palace in the center, which I think makes perfect sense. It would probably be the tallest building in the city as well. And, uh, tha shits in the inner circle! Yes. Upper class housing towers, financial district, entertainment district, government services, etc.

If some Grit can pass for human, have any already infiltrated Periphery I wonder...

Now this is an interesting thought. And if they have, how far up the societal ladder could they be? Hm...

Today is one of my working weekends and I'm looking at the clock and I realize I was supposed to start getting ready twenty minutes ago. I'm sure I'll be thinking about this all day again.

Er, I think SS was not in reference to a "secret service" but more a Gestapo-like force, but based on what I've seen, I doubt one would exist, which is good.

I noticed that there are four smaller semicircles cut out of the sides that are equidistant between the larger ones. They each have what looks like five roads radiating out from them. What could those be? Maybe former Department of Immigration (or whatever equivalent there is) offices that got closed down after the Wall started being built, and now they've been taken over by homeless people?

...Actually, looking at the startlingly symmetrical layout of the city, maybe the whole place is a rune, used to power some titanic spell?

That's a good point -- I'd originally thought of the city as pretty small, but bigger makes more sense. It's hard to develop and prosper if you're crammed too tightly into a little space. I might redraw the map a bit to give a better sense of scale, and let the buildings breathe a little.

Absolutely everyone's free to start posting! Format's up to you. Normally I'd suggest heading your posts with your character's name for clarity, but with this group I feel like it won't be necessary. :)

Gooooood question. xD If we go by @Dud's interpretation of the size of the city, then the wall is extremely long as well as tall. Also because of magic and technology we can ignore the physics of such a wall being able to stay upright, haha.

My brain is having trouble comprehending how massive the wall must be, honestly. xD Let's say the goal is the clouds, and they're getting close. But it hasn't been addressed IC yet, so whatever you put down will be canon henceforth. Up to you! ;)

Looks like an exciting start! @RiptideI think you hit the mark. 173 levels sounds more than reasonable. I imagine every level being about 40-50 feet in height. That's a big ass wall, people.

Hum, maybe @ mention the player whose character your character is interacting with? :D It's been successful in the past!

@SmertlessYou haven't missed the start yet. We still have about six registered characters without an IC post. It's all good in the hood!

@MokleyAgreed. The @ strategy would work. However, if said character is interacting with another character with whom they have not been formally introduced, a physical description of the other PC would probably suffice. Seems as though the PC lineup is very diverse!

@Archimedes While that's true, it does help everybody know where to look immediately, instead of wading through 15 characters' worth of posts.
