You have been invited to participate in a special competition. The winner of this competition will receive a fully paid scholarship to the school of their choosing and a cash prize of one thousand dollars. Now just what kind of a competition is this you ask? Well, it's really quite simple. Each participate will enter a fully simulated small town where the next twenty years of their lives will be simulated in fast motion until you reach the end of the game. The contestant who has accumulated the most points at the end will be the winner.
And don't worry, you won't actually age in the game, nor will everything that might happen to you, whether that be fortunate or unfortunate will carry over to your real life.
Now in order to participate, you must be a high school junior or senior with a excellent grade point average. We want our contestants to be successful in their real lives so that they may be equally as successful in their virtual lives. Upon entry, you will be assigned a career that you must attend every day during your simulated experience. Along the way, you will all encounter a number of 'setbacks' in your lives. And how you choose to go about dealing with those setbacks will be how you are scored in this competition. We will keep track of your points and update them daily for you all to see. Keep in mind that all of these setbacks will happen instantly as soon as you are made aware of them so be prepared for some . . . unusual events during your virtual experience.
We looking forward to hearing from you all, and good luck in The Game of Life!
Seem kind of like something you've heard of before? Yeah, this roleplay idea is based off the board game The Game of Life. It is basically playing the game as if it were a virtual reality experience where you literally go into a second life and play through a major part of your life in a relatively short amount of time.
I'm looking for a few people who'd like to give this a try. Basically how it will work is your characters will go about their lives in this virtual world just as they would in reality. They go to work, they meet people, make friends, go on dates, and so forth. They can even meet each other. But every so often, I'll post in OOC a random event that happens to your character that you then have to include in your next post. By the end of it all, I'll decide who is the winner of the game by who has the most successful 'life'.
I hope I did an adequate job explaining this concept. I often find that I'm a little too vague, so just let me know if you have any questions at all.
