Hello fellow Role Players!

I was thinking of setting up a Police Detective type RP - think "Law & Order". I would come up with various crimes that have been committed, a setting, victims, crime scene including possible evidence. You, as one of the Detectives, would use your expertise to uncover the truth around what happened.

I would be any NPC in the stories that you would encounter. Witnesses, suspects, family and friends, etc. What you do, where you go, who you talk to, will all be up to you - I'll just give direction when/if needed through use of NPC.

I plan on having multiple cases to investigate and solve, but I do want them to be in depth and have substance to them, so I wouldn't be just throwing together case after case. I would most likely work on new cases during the current case being investigated, so I would have another case ready to go right away.

I'm thinking of at least 2 Detectives, possibly more if the situation worked out. Maybe a Lawyer or 2 possible, not 100% sure on that just yet. After all, this is JUST an Interest Check, so there's possibility for things to change.

So if anyone is interested in this type of RP, please express your interest, and I can get on coming up with details ASAP. Any feedback and/or suggestions are welcome!

Yes, that is what I am leaning towards. It's the best time setting for myself to GM, I feel most confident in my knowledge in this time apposed to others. Although, I did contemplate doing a Sci-Fi setting, but I feel like a Modern setting will best fit the story.

I'm going to try and work all four of you in from the get go. I am putting together some ideas for the first story right now as I type this. I'll get all the info together that I need, and feel is sufficient enough to get started. Once I have all I need, I will open an OOC, and PM you four with the link.

I haven't settled on a City yet. Obviously there's the traditional NYC crime scene, or Chicago, but I have a few other Cities that typically aren't used in crime dramas.

Any suggestions on a City are more then welcome!

Philadelphia is always a good bet- huge enough to have a variety of different kinds of problems, cultures, and locales. Plenty of organized crime if we want to go that route. And it doesn't get much time in the spotlight. Seattle and Houston would fit the bill there as well.

Or if we wanted to go a less traditional route, we could go with the "decaying and corrupt city" route, somewhere in the rust belt. St. Louis, Detroit, Toledo, one of those places. The police are often corrupt and the people distrust them. Something along those lines.

Just spitballing here.

Seattle was actually one of the top in my head. Not too much spotlight on anything there, but quite a bit of potential.

St. Louis is an obvious choice for crime, but too much spotlight with the Ferguson stuff. Houston is a little too big, and Detroit is too generic. Philly wouldn't be a bad choice, though.

I am leaning toward Seattle, though. I'll do a little research on Seattle and Philly, the crime rates, locations, etc. If you, or anyone else think of anywhere else to check out as well, definitely let me know.

When I get the story figured out for our first case, I will see what we have to work with as far as Player Characters. I want to be able to work everyone in, because I appreciate the interest! If I can't get everyone in the first case, I will definitely work them in the next case!

I will get a CS put together shortly. Like I said, I have to sit down and see how many people we could realistically fit into the story, without cramming too many into it that there is not enough for all parties to really participate enough to keep everyone interested. There's a lot of thought going into this, so just bare with me on some things, if you all could. I want this to be a very enjoyable experience for all of you, as well as a lasting one.

So I have decided on Seattle as our setting. I have a map which we will be used throughout the entirety of this RP. The map will be used to indicate where crime scenes are located, suspect locations, friends and family, Police HQ, and any other story relevant information. I'll provide the map in the OOC when I get it up.

Now, onto more suggestions! I am trying to come up with an original name for this RP, opposed to just something like "Law & Order: Seattle", or "True Crimes", etc. So any suggestions for names of our RP are encouraged! Once we have a name, I believe I would probably have enough information to at least get the OOC going, and put up a CS Template for you guys to get started.

Let the suggestions begin!

Again, I want to thank you guys for all the interest! This is going to be really exciting for me!
