More mentors, the better really. So who starts the thread?

Alright, expect it in a few days when I find a suitable image, get the details written up and finish up what I have to do with my other rps. Formatting a OP and GMing is a pain sometimes, but worth it when you have the right group.

@Skallagrim Someone who has more than physical abilities going for them. Simply because the ranging of Bita's abilities makes it drastically unfair. It's like a guy with a sledgehammer fighting a guy with a sniper rifle.

Hey fellas, I need an opinion on a tournament idea I had.

Recently I'd been playing League of Legends, specifically the All Random All Mid or ARAM game mode, which is essentially a 5 vs 5 on one lane, with random heroes. The arena is this hugeass bridge over an extremely deep chasm, down in a snowy mountain range.

What I was thinking was that we could do a similar concept but simpler? Like, instead of a 5 vs 5, a simple 1 vs 1 for each bracket, and on the same arena every time. No arena gimmicks, no special rules? Victory decided either by combatant death, forfeit, or being knocked off the bridge.

And maybe, when you enter, based on how many arena characters you have, you are assigned a number and whatever character that lands on, you have to use that character for the tourney?

Not so sure, but I thought that a 1v1 on a bridge over a chasm for a tourney setting would be pretty cool.

Ahem. As someone with 150 characters and counting, how about a clarification to this. Each person submits 5 mid power characters to choose at random from?

That gave me another idea. It's like a tag team where you can use one character at one time and when they die or tag a teammate they get to switch out for that next teammate. The battle is over once an entire team is unable to battle. The only problem is how long lasting this would be so it wouldn't e a normal tournament, being more for fun that could last the year if people are slow. Or rather than a tournament it would just be one battle.

There's a ranking system now? What a great incentive.

@DJAtomika I'm okay with that, I used to play league so I get that. Though to be honest, the massive number of characters I have. I'd have to only submit my intermediates. Otherwise the high volume of non-powered and high powered characters would make rolling a nightmare.

So it could be a mid or low tier only sorta thing. Cool! Perhaps it could be arranged?

@DJAtomika I think mid/intermediate is the most common. Low would just be humans and slightly better than humans.

Maybe like a Street Fighter level match. Dhalsim can breath fire but you can still imagine a normal human being able to win if they fight well enough. However, the characters would still have special powers that give them all a unique edge in combat.

Depends, if you want to set up a tournament that is balanced to be more about individual skill rather than character match-ups and terrain advantages then it's a good idea, but go into it expecting some people to have a major advantage regardless. Bridges don't tend to have ambush-spots and obstructions to protect the melee orientated from projectiles.

I think a Street Fighter/Mortal Kombat power level would be amazing! That's my preferred level of power.

Of course without the mortal Kombat gameplay ability to withstand multiple sharp objects impaling into their brain and other horrific injuries and keep fighting as long as they have a health bar. ;)

Did you like the idea of a tag team or you just randomly get one out of five choices of something?

I prefer the tag-team. I don't have enough characters that fit that style to go random.

Ideally, I like the idea of two on two, with teams seeing how far they can go and set in a dynamic environment. Meaning, treat it like an underground tournament. So, while one fight might be in boxing ring, the other could be in a subway, during rush hour or ontop of a building... or ya know, center stage at the Super Bowl.

With a lot of battles it sounds more like a tournament, right? Or you mean one part of the team fights a completely different battle, or different teams fight different teams in other battlegrounds and our teams fight each other in one.

For example. You and I would be a team and Rill and Skall would be a time. We'd all be at the same location, fighting. So you could, potentially, set up devastating attacks based off each other or try and gang-beat one person down real quick.

If that's to complicated than think of it as an old school WCW tag-team fight, with only person fighting at a time per team and then having to tag the other in. Potentially allowing for a sweet team attack for one exchange. Ya know, you put Rilla's face on a steel chair and then I do a leg drop on it from the top turn buckle!

This seems like it might be Hunger Games like where random people are chosen to fight for the amusement of otherwise. Otherwise they wouldn't let a group of people beat each other senseless during the Super Bowl.
