Alexandro, or Alex, is known for being rash and excitable, often rushing into political affair, or the battlefield, without a plan in mind or, seemingly, without a care in the world of whether he gets killed or his actions will bring disaster upon his nation.

Many say that he is Gunhild reencarnation, something that even Straizo, his cousin and a powerful mage, has considered to be true.

Playful by nature, he tends to not take most things seriously, as long as there are not lives in the line it just seems that Alex won't have a care in the world.

In the battlefield, he is definitely not the go to man for plans and strategies, instead relying those duties on his Royal Mage, Tactician, Cousin and best friend, Straizo. He usually leads the vanguard with his trusty sword, Dainsleif.

Biography: Little is not known about Alexandro.

He raised to the throne fairly quickly, at age 16, when his father was killed in the war and he then decided to unite both countries and kingdoms under a single rule, his own, forgiving his father's murderers and instead deciding to seek out peace. Since then many know him as a king who would rather die than see more senseless bloodshed.

As a kid, he was always praised for his aptitude in battle, even if his academics were laughable. His strength is legendary and his relation with Straizo, the smart one of the family, reminds people a bit too much of a certain legendary pair.

Many are worried that he will, eventually, be betrayed by his cousin.

Sarcastic, short-tempered and with a sharp tongue, Hirotsuka developed her current personality due to her being an orphan and also a foreigner. She needed some way to protect herself, and she vastly preferred to use her quick wit and venomous tongue to so.

Her strong attitude made her perfect to become a battle maid, so many thought, and she was also perfect to be King Alexandro's personal guard.

The two were together since the two were young though, and being completely honest, Alexandro tends to deal with her as if she were a man.

Though at first she did not mind, lately she wishes their friendship was quite not so deep. Despite being (unofficially) his girlfriend, Hirotsuka still can't shake the feeling that Alexandro still doesn't see her as a woman.

Biography: Born in the slums (no city is without them) of Alistaf, Hirotsuka's true origin is unknown at this time.

She's had to steal, insult, trick and do several other scoundrel-like things in order to get by as a kid in the slums. Her reputation, to say the least, was hideous.

During times of war, a battle maid discovered her and decided to take her with to the castle, despite Hirotsuka's best attempts to free herself.

She was then trained in the arts of doing battle as a maid, appearing defenseless but quickly striking with their concealed weapons. Her talent for fighting was astounding, whereas her magical talent with a staff was severely lacking.

Still in training, she was assigned as Alexandro's guard to perfect her skills. Though the king did not get into a lot of messes, the two did forge a strong bond that eventually evolved into a romantic relationship, with some severe insecurities from Hirotsuka's part, must be added.

King Alexandro says that they mustn't be seen together, or otherwise their relationship would be frowned upon, something he wouldn't be able to withstand.

Hirotsuka isn't exactly sure of this, but remains by Alexandro's side regardless. Her loyalty certainly does not lie with Jotenvarr, but with Alexandro himself.

Personality: Cunning and stoic, those are the traits that better define the royal mage, Straizo.

Known, and feared, by all, Straizo rose quicly in the ranks of Alexandro's army. Though many thought it was because of his relation to the royal family, they most certainly discovere later that it is not.

His tactical mind is without equal, and he will often seek for his opponents to yield instead of destroying them completely, though he won't hesitate to terminate them if needed.

His magical prowess enables him to be a top-rate fighter, despite his slim frame.

Many believe he is without emotion, as a perpetual frown covers his face, but he can indeed be seen smiling around Alexandro, his only family.

He tends to keep people at arm's distance, so as to not be hurt again and remain the strong man he is now.

His cunning and planning remind several of Brynhild from the legends, and they go as far as to say that he is his reencarnation.

Many believe his betrayal is just a matter of time.

Biography: His father, like Alexandro's, died in the war. Though they were cousins as well, the king and Straizo's father did not get along as Alexandro and Straizo do.

An odd duo indeed, but the two of them seemed the happiest when playing with each other, and have known each other since they were kids.

Straizo's mother, a religious Cleric who served as a healer during times on war, instead caught some strange disease from Alistaf that made her bedridden.

While Straizo looked for a cure with the Alistaf locals, his mother died.

Without nowhere else to go, Straizo dedicated his life to the military, rejecting his uncle's offer of housing him.

His accomplishements and intelligence brought him to the king's side in no time at all, to serve as his Royal Mage and Tactician for the last couple of years in his rule.

After his uncle's death, however, he instructed his younger cousin into the ways of being a king, and terminated the war by directing Jotenvarr's troops to victory against Alistaf.

Despite this, the girl has sadistic tendencies and a love for gore few could understand. Combine this with her powerful dark magic that surfaced since a young age and many actually feared the girl.

She was quickly enrolled in the military, as many could see her great potential to be part of the army. However, the girl was as clever as she was powerful, and she felt... used.

Her wild delusions often wandered into worrisome territory, at the thought of making a coup d'etat all by herself.

Afterwards, she met Straizo, who acted as her teacher and friend for the years to come.

Slowly, but surely, the girl developed really, really strong feelings for Straizo.

She vastly prefers a wild look and using fake, pointy teeth to make herself seem more intimidating, not to mention that it is also a fashion statement.

As a bonus, she does not seem to like either Alexandro nor the woman he keeps by his side.

Biography: Native of Jotenvarr, the girl was dragged into the military from a young age.

She rose quickly through the ranks, but her intelligence led her to believe that she was only being used, and often fostered dark thoughts that, if voiced, would have her incarcerated in no time.

With those thoughts in mind, she accidentally, and while training, cursed her training partner with a curse of agonizing pain.

Taking this as insubordination, the army was about to incarcerate her. They would've done so had Straizo not interfered.

He offered to teach the girl how to control her vast and powerful magic, if they only let her free, appealing to the fact that she could actually be a great asset once trained.

Luckily for the both of them, they accepted, and Straizo started training Illian. The girl did not trust him at first, though. She thought he just wanted to use her, just like everyone else.

Straizo's kindness that showed over and over again slowly made her change her mind and, applying a certain principle I totally did not hear from The World God Only Knows, her hate and distrust quickly changed into feelings of love.

Quite a ferocious kind of love, must be added.

Though many believe her to be Straizo's girlfriend/spouse/fiancee, she can only wish that were the case.

Depite having already confesed to him, the girl was turned down because of her age. Despite this, her feelings do not seem to waver even for a single bit.

Biography: Davos has spent his entire life dedicated to his kingdom. From the moment he could walk and talk, the patriotism that he carried was obvious.

The man has under his belt several accomplishments. Despite the fact that during the war he was a simple Knight, how he directed his troops, and how he protected like a steel wall every single on eof the strongholds he was in charge him have made him rise through the ranks.

His stelwart shield and undying will to protect the country he was born in have gained him not only the class of General, but also the title. He is in charge of moving the most powerful troops of Jotenvarr.

Personality: Hyakuya is an experienced beast in the battlefield. He is merciless and aware of his surroundings. Manaketes are feared because of their 'bloodlust' and Hyakuya displays it almost perfectly on the battlefield when he really can't hold himself back.

Like most older manaketes, he must meditate at nights to hold his feral mode inside. If not, he could go wild and attack both friend and foe alike. It was either that or he heads out to some unknown forest and wreck havoc there, all in a span of one night, just all to suppress his true manakete mode.

As a friend, he is quite a story teller, often telling them of his experiences when he was but a small child. His childhood may have been horrible but he does not fear it or hide it from others. If they want to know about it, then so be it. He is a loyal person, as seen by his loyalty to the royal family, and keeps all of his promises. He will die for the royal family because he promised to do so.

Like all manaketes, he is 'related' to the Dragon Goddess, Naga. Although he knows about her and her holiness, he never gave her much though, often just worshipping Ishtakk, the Goddess of Jotenvarr. Worshipping may be the wrong term for him... maybe just simply acknowledging her holiness is a better term for it.

Biography: Hyakuya, when he was just about a couple of hundreds of years old, was happy being with his family since he was still considered young back then. When he hit his five hundred mark, he left his home to be more independent as most Manaketes do but would often return to where he came from. But one day, he was defeated by a bunch of bandits and was taken in to perform for them. It was a traumatic experience for the young Manakete, having to repeatedly hit his pride everytime he was with the bandits.

One day, while the bandits were travelling through Jotenvarr, they were defeated by the king. That was one less bandit camp to worry about. Hyakuya was finally free from the slavery and turned to the king and told him that he would be his loyal follower. The king took him in since he looked but a small child but when he saw that he was a Manakete, he told Hyakuya to simply sleep for some time and when he awakens, he will be tasked to protect the generation by then.

He was sent to sleep at a hidden chamber of the castle. Centuries passed and he woke up as the country was still at war. He reported to the king and fought for him. Having a Manakete to protect the castle was apparently helpful. When the king had died from the war and Alexandro rose to the throne, he had to serve the young king. Although the Manakete usually takes orders from the royal mage, Straizo, since he was the brains of the two.

Biography:
Originally from the icy peaks of Frossbarr, Aika took to the roads in pursuit of great masters of magic and martial arts. Her desire to become a legend in both swordplay and spellcraft has led her across the sandy deserts of Alistaf and the thick jungles of Jotenvarr, stopping only to learn and practice with scholars and soldiers alike.
It was during her stay in Jotenvarr that she learned that King Alexandro himself requested her by name for her skill. Upon arrival, she happily agreed to take up arms in the royal guard.

Aggressive and volatile, not to mention loud, he is your usual bar drunk minus the alcohol. If he perceives even the slightest insult coming from you, you'll meet the sharp end of his sword.

This obviously does not make him a social butterfly, despite being amicable by nature. He tends to scare people off when he starts getting pissed and starts trashing about.

His only motto in life is to not trust anyone, no matter what, something he inherited from his father, so even if he tries to make friends, he does tend to keep people at a certain distance and always expects the worse from them. That way, it is more of a pleasant surprise to see that he was actually wrong.

Biography: Being a mercenary, an odd profession to run in a family indeed, but his father trained him since he was young to become the next in line of their lineage of expert mercenaries.

Always put the job first and don't trust anyone, was what his father used to tell him.

He is, was, really good at his job, but there was a single problem.

As his father said, he couldn't trust anyone. When working with others, they would often turn against each other to get the other's part, betrayed them at some point for a better reward, and several others he does not bother of remembering, like the petty stealing of food.

He's more scars in his body than he would like to have, and each tells the story of a different betrayal, because it was something he did not expect.

Claude decided to stop being a mercenary and attend the calling of King Alexandro. Perhaps being a knight will have less betrayel involved and perhaps more, ugh, gag me, friendship.

The woman is gentle, kind and often times oddly airheaded. Truthfully, the fact that she even decided to become part of a group of knights is quite baffling for some, but those that know her know that despite her being kind of mild mannered, she's got some maternal instincts that she just can't help.

While she does not have a strong temper and also tends to be overly polite when talking, she won't hesitate to hit others with her staff if push comes to shove. She is not afraid of being hurt or of hurting others, as long as they are enemies, of course.

She is good at housework, cleaning, cooking and sewing, her hobby being making stuffed animals (truthfully, she is carrying some with her even now).

As expected, her understanding and patience is only comparable to that of a saint, but beware should she ever really get mad. Not even a legendary sword would save you from her wrath.

Her horse is also quite temperamental. It has felled more enemies that the girl herself, but that's only to be expected.

Biography: A noble of the highest order in Jotenvarr. Joan has never lacked anything in her life, but the war that took ahold of Jotenvarr and Alistaf made her realize that there was certainly a cruel world beyond her gilded cage.

It was a harsh truth, but one she had to face nevertheless.

Even if she could have remained a pampered noble for the rest of her life, she did not want to. She didn't want to pretend that everything was all right, even if the others outside her own gilded cage were suffering.

She was accepted in the order of priests of Jotenvarr, to become a healer. She isn't a big hairy brute to swing an axe and certainly you could not expect a lady to sully her hands with something as unrefined as an iron sword or such, right?

Her training for horseback riding also made her the best kind of healer, a mounted healer. (as long as there isn't a beastslayer somewhere).

She decided to attend the calling of King Alexandro to be able to do what she thought she should be doing. Helping others with her gifts for healing.

Hiro has always been the one to prefer talking over violence and he often hesitates in the ways of combat. He always dislikes fighting and is often too forgiving towards people.

Having said that, Hiro loves being with his friends and ones that he can count on, often times he can be found socializing with many different people. He always aims to please everyone, not wanting anyone to be disappointed or saddened.

Hiro will only use his bow when a superior commands him to do so or it is for the safety of of his all his friends or King.

Hiro is also very submissive when it comes to an argument, something he does not deal well with, and he will often just tell the other person is right even though they would be clearly wrong.

Biography:
Hiro had grown up to a poor family who did not simply farm the land or go to the market to get food, they hunted for their food. It turned out to be a family wide thing before Hiro wanted to do something with his life. It had taken him years of built up courage to actually leave his family, but in the end they did support him. He went on to show his prowess with the bow, as he made his way to also answer to the call of the King. He has high hopes for himself and he just hopes that he does not leave without making something of himself here.

Diana in a nutshell. There's two nutshells though. The other one. Sometimes it acts like Diana but it isn't. The other one is very smart, very mean, and very good at fighting. Diana is good at fighting, but the other one is much better and not as nice about it.

Biography: Diana hails from Alistaf and was trained to be part of its proud military from birth. Even through her personality was the furthest thing from a heartless warrior, her father didn't take no for an answer. Partly because Diana couldn't really speak then but whatever. Because of the extreme conditioning she was forced to go through from an early age Diana developed multiple personality disorder. As far as anyone knows she only has two, Diana refers to the brutal warlike side as 'the other one' and for most of her childhood it was in full effect, except the rare moments Diana had alone, not supervised. Eventually her father died in the war against Jotenvarr, luckily Daina had been posted in an out of the way station and the fighting she saw was minimal. Having no other skills than extensive military training Daina decided to repay Jotenvarr for ridding her of her father by serving in the royal guard. Or at least the army failing that.

Victor is a cheerful, affable and loyal young man who is as kind as he is determined. As he goes into the middle of a battlefield defensless to heal and drag back anybody he can carry even if they are twice his height and weight. He is Brave in the face of danger and he has a very strong moral compass which what tells him what to do, and anything morally dubious he will not even consider an option and holds most to uphold his level of morality. Although what he considers the right thing might not be legal or openingly accepted, he does what he think is right and just which explines why he is okay with joining the royal guard and why he is okay with possibly killing somebody if the job commandes him to.

But besides his moral and serious personailty, he is deep down a jokester with a love of puns and wordplays and he loves tourturing others with terrible puns and lame jokes, also pranks, he loves pranking others, wheater it putting a bucket on an ajar door or putting tons of chicken eggs on a person's bed. He loves them all.

Biography:

Victor was left on the doorsteps of a young couple after his parents relized they couldn't take care of him themselves but they knew that the child's safety and happiness was worth more to them their own happiness in comparison. Victor was loved by the young couple as if he was their own child. The young couple were a pair of merchants who spoiled the child while teaching him to be the nicest person he could be no matter what other people think of him and to always to do his best to help others like he did with them by being their child.
With such a childhood like his the only logical conclusion was for him to join the clergy and become a Priest so he could help others with a staff and heal others that few others can do. He was a young teen when he became a Priest, but he became disillusioned to the life as a priest as he felt he wasn't helping as much as he could and the Priest were always blocked out of helping others due to laws and social taboos which he found deplorable for people who called themselves the helpers of the common people.
He eventrelly left the Clergy with a few staves in hand and gotten ready to become a wandering Healer away from the Clergy. But his wanderings left him aimless and without a greater purpose that he desired to follow. But when news of Royal guards are needed for a king Victor jumped at opportunity and headed right to where the trials will take place and become a royal guard for the King of Jotenvarr

Tybalt is a flirtatious scoundrel, a free spirit with a swagger about him. He is bold, gallant, and practically exuding charisma. Unusually outgoing and sociable for a mage, he never passes up on a potential adventure or an experience and will jump at the opportunity to try something new. With a never say die attitude about life and carefree machismo to his actions, he possesses a sharp wit and a silver tongue that makes him extremely charming, though it can occasionally come off as insulting. Heroic and daring, Tybalt is quick to deliver a quip and a smile to brighten even the most somber of situations, making it easy to see why the people of Alistaf have warmed up to him.

However, beneath this outgoing and bold personality lies a man of compassion and kindness as well as impressive tactical acumen and magical knowhow. He may not act like it, but he is a very experienced and talented mage and tactician, brilliant and knowledgeable in his craft. While he more often than not spends his time using his magic to do simple parlor tricks and goof off, he truly has a untold brilliance when the situation demands it, revealing his intellect when the situation demands it. A cunning and calculating strategist, he is more than capable of assisting his unit when the time comes, both with his mind and his magic.

Biography:
Tybalt comes from the desert town of Alistaf, he hails from a noble family of dukes disgraced by their affiliation with the former dictator Mustaf. Once the city was annexed to Jotenvarr, his family immediately fell into bad standing with the new king. Even at a young age, he was very aware that the people of Alistaf despised his family’s affiliation with a monster and also expressed shame at their defeat. They were only a noble house in name, prisoners of their own city and targets of their people’s hatred.

This was something Tybalt refused to stand for. He began to feel it was his responsibility to give Alistaf back a member of nobility they could respect, and a noble house they could feel pride in. He worked tirelessly to assist his people, spending days in town trying to rebuilt broken homes and defend the city from bandits. He won their respect though hard work and determination, enough so that he caught the eye of Jotenvarr’s royal guard. Already Tybalt could see that this was his chance to truely redeem his family’s name by coming the Royal Guard to the king, to make up for the horrors his family had done during the way. He departed for the Capital on the very same day he received the invitation, intending to give it his all and prove he can be more than just some noble.

Personality: Itazu could probably be best described as self indulgent, plenty ready to dive into most vices with little thought to the consequences. Always looking for a way to come out on top, he tends to attempt to be charming in most cases, figuring if people like you there much less likely to cart you off to a jail cell. Impulsive behavior can lead him to taking chances most wouldn't, and this has plenty of times gained him victories from the jaws of defeat, but just as often left him sleeping in the elements for his bad luck. Has on occasion been afflicted with bouts of a debilitating moral emergence, having tossed away great reward to pull someone else out of the fire. An astute lack of worry in most situations has led some to think him arrogant, while others just brush it off as stupidity.

tends to get maniacally obsessed with any rumor of a loose beaststone he hears, and only attitude to rival it is his depression after they prove to be false, sure to lead to a night of heavy drinking.

Biography: The tale of how Itazu came to be practically trapped in the capital is one filled with daring, treachery, swashbuckling, and daring...

Or so the young tailed scoundrel would regal any lass unable to see through such grandiose tales. Each time he tells the story, more and more embellishments crop up, now rivaling the exaggerations parents tell their children when recounting the tale of the sword brothers.

However, like those stories, the truth is buried in there. While he had always shown an aptitude for going unnoticed on hunts, he'd more often then not shown an even bigger ability to wander fur first into trouble. Wether following game into some local lord's private hunting grounds or getting involved with a mayor's daughter, Itazu oft had a knack for causing trouble for his tribe, though he'd usually escape unscathed, save an occasional lashing from the elder for such events.

Upon their trip to the capitol however, his poor consideration of the future finally caught up to him personally in a rather karmic manner. After a rather fruitful trading venture within the capitals walls, old habits had led the Fox to a tavern rather quickly, eager to make use of his portion of the profits they'd earned. Many rounds had been doled out to the patrons on the impulsive fox's dime, an easy way he'd found to make friends no matter how many furry appendages a new face may have. It really is a rather fond memory for Itazu, both ales and women in seemingly ready supply as the night continued onwards, events becoming hazy as the night continued and the tankards flowed. Unfortunate really that it had to be tainted upon his recovery the next morning. While waking to what few would consider poor company, it didn't take long for him to realize something was very wrong, a familiar weight missing, and its very absence making it all the more noticeable. Clearly during his carousing the night before, someone with considerable knowledge of his race's customs had seen the easy mark. They'd managed to separate him from the stone his clan used to connect them to their more bestial origins.

This loss in turn made him a liability to his clan upon the revelation, often using the form to traverse terrain to difficult for most caravans, bring in food for their travels, as well as protect the tribe from bandits along their travels. After a grace period of two weeks to find his stone passed, the tribe could afford no more delay and set off with out the trouble prone fox spirit.

In the years that have passed since he became a seemingly permanent resident of Jotenvarr, having found it rather easy to slip from stalking wild prey to feed the tribe, to picking easy and fat targets with coin to spare, more often then not hardly sleeping in the same place from night to night, picking taverns based on the days haul, or simply picking a nice roof for the night if he's feeling rather nostalgic. However his rather prominent ears are always to the ground when it comes to rumors of a beaststone about the city, often adopting an almost manic manner concerning such rumors.

Interest in joining the kings own guard comes from a hope of gaining access to better source of Intel surrounding such an object, not that he'd object to the steady cash flow such a prestigious position was sure to bring.

Pauline has an incredibly low self-esteem and, for whatever reason, always thinks people are overestimating her. Because of that, she can lose motivation quite easily, but with her passion for ninjas, her home country and its protection, she recovers quickly. Pauline is also quite hardworking, and despite not being the bravest person you'll find in the army, she is very agile and has potential to become a great fighter.

She's also a diligent fighter for justice - even in small things, like everyone in the army getting their share of food. Pauline's incredibly thoughtful of others and tries to help healers the best she can, caring about everyone's health as much as they do.

Biography: Born in Jotenvarr in a family of historians, Pauline has always been interested in culture. You could easily find her libraries - she started spending huge amounts of time as soon as she learned to read. However, it wasn't mages or brave knights and lances who fascinated her, but ninjas. She could spend hours reading about them and telling her parents about the legends.
At the age of 10, her parents finally decided to start her training. Pauline was incredibly worried at first - after all, it would be the first time she was away from her home from so long.

The training was, unsurprisingly, quite tough. Pauline got homesick quite a few times, but managed to do quite well. Unsurprisingly, she excels at hiding herself and attacking from afar, as these skills are, perhaps, the most needed for a person as cowardly as she is.

Personality: There are very few people as blunt and honest as Mikhail in this world. This stems from the fact that he sees lies, even kind ones, to be a waste of time and thus wants nothing to do with them. Unfortunately, this often results in him coming off as a harsh or even heartless individual, even though that couldn’t be further from the truth.

On top of being painfully honest, Mikhail also has a penchant for being snarky. There is very little that escapes his sarcasm, much to the dismay of those around him. Of any given group, he is the one to play the devil’s advocate, mostly just to see how people justify their stances on things. And it is important to note, that while he is snarky, he is not necessarily dismissive of others in most cases.

But if one is able to get past his sardonic exterior, they will find a man that is fiercely loyal and capable of being truly kind to those he cares about. Yet his kindness is something that can be difficult for most people to appreciate.

Biography: Mikhail’s early life was simple and predictable. He was of minor nobility, so he was exempt from many concerns that others had to face. As he grew up and saw firsthand the lengths others had to go just to put food on the table, the boy began to resent the unfairness of it all. While this was one of the primary causes of his sour personality, it also led his desire to improve things for those not as lucky as himself.

However, being the third son to a noble with little land left Mikhail with few options. He could either grow old in the tiny shadow of his eldest brother or join the military and try and make a name for himself. Needless to say, he joined the military as soon as he turned 16.

Four years passed and Mikhail had found his calling in life. Mounted combat had come naturally to the noble as did lance play. The war with Alistaf left him with new scars, but also some renown. So when the King’s call for new recruits reached him, Mikhail knew that he had to answer.

Personality: Warmhearted and possessing a gentle demeanor, Azi tends to be the one that people turn to if they need to talk about something, though he'll usually notice it whether they approach him or not. Even if he's being treated poorly, he will continue smiling. If possible, he tries to find a peaceful solution to every problem.

Azi has a habit of sleeping too much and is often singing in his spare time, if not knitting.

Biography:
A fox half-Laguz, Azi was abandoned in the woods and left to die by his parents. By pure luck, a young priest had spotted him while on an errand, and took him to the abbey. He was raised by the many kind people there and readily adopted their teachings, learning to face racism against him calmly. He found a set of old song manuscripts during his time there, and discovered his talent for singing.

Azi eventually left to discover his own philosophy by traveling the land and to help those in need. He often hides his ears and tail under his clothing, more out of habit than actually disliking them.

Nicknames/Title: Lord Velmaar - Is apart of the Varr Romanaoff family, and whilst his family name is different his blood line is still a part of it; currently 6th in line of the throne; despite his proximity to the potential of being King, he has no interest in it and only wishes to serve the current King.
His family controls some the northern holdings in the vast expanse that is Jotenvarr.
"The dragon knight", a nickname bestowed upon him by some of the other Vanguards, he has a fiery temper on the field of battle and attacks the enemy front line as if hell itself was on his heels.

Inventory: A royal lance; made from silver its rather heavy despite its small and thin appearance, designed to pierce the thickest plate and the toughest shields; the blade has a tendency to snap mid battle and must be replaced.
The royal lance has a very unique end, it allows the blade to be removed and the shaft to be used as a similar weapon to a Bō staff, a form of foreign martial arts, meaning that if all blades are expended they still have a means of defence, can be lethal but primarily used for incapacitating foes.

Max is really quite a nice person, he speaks eloquently and has a code of chivalry that he adherers too, he will always help the weak and will commonly act as a sort of negotiator, if a dispute or argument breaks out he will be there in flash to try and break it up peacefully using words in place of fists or blades.
Other than that he is rather intelligent and someone you can rely on to have your back, he won't act on charge but despite that he usually finds himself giving out orders and telling people what to do, he doesn't mean to take their role of leader away from someone higher rank than him but commonly, and without intention does end up doing something along those lines.

He is a staunch royalist, and believes in an absolute monarchy; the king or queen is the leader and you shall not disobey them, its best not to bring up political reforms around him lest his ears perceive treason; mistakenly or otherwise.

Inside the fight.
A different man, he strives to be the first in the fight and will unleash a unprecedented amount of vigour and speed just in order to skewer the first enemy, he has a code of honour in engagements that follow this line; after the front line has been broken and he has claimed the first kill, in every moment of respite between or before a fight he will demand the surrender of his opponent, if they fail to acquiesce then they will die as an enemy.
Those who surrender to this however, typically near the end of an engagement, he will kill them all the same; but as dogs for betraying their own monarch, there is no escape from the clutches of death when you fight this man, its kill or be killed, typically its simply how you get killed.
He doesn't work well in team fights, time in the Vanguards has made him solely focus on breaking the enemy lines, it will take a considerable amount of persuasion to force him to disengage from a fight, even if a loss is inevitable.

Biography: Maximilian was always destined to do something with the royal blood that he held in his veins, he just wasn't sure what exactly that would be - as it turned out, and rather unsurprisingly it would be to, firstly serve the crown, and secondly to marry another noble.
And in that order.
But when Max started serving the crown as a knight; something he began training as very early into his life, he never wanted to stop serving, it didn't take long in his life to become one of the most accomplished users of a lance within the Royal army and as such he was offered a place in the Royal Vanguards, an elite fighting force that during time of war would serve as the spear head of the army, driving themselves deep into the enemy lines and to eliminate key personnel namely enemy nobility or ranking officers.

It was a role that Max exceeded in, he was being put in the thick of a fight and that's exactly how he wanted it; much to the dismay of his parents however as their legacy would be of little use to the family bloodline if he was killed in battle, despite how honourable and a marvellous way to go; at least in Max's eyes it was.
The second part of his duty has never appealed to him, he puts up with the dates, dances and formal meetings between the two - Elise is far from a bad match he had to admit, she was funny, courteous, beautiful and of course in the eyes of his family, she was of suitable 'stock'.
Depsite how royalist Max was, he didn't like this form of Breeding and selection as if they were nothing more than pampered livestock.

His duties in the Royal vanguard however are keeping him away from the unsavoury future for the time being; and similar to most knights and others amongst the realm he appeared when summoned by the King; in this instance it certainly seemed like something he could further delay the inevitable.
And maybe speak to the king about some form of rearrangement.

Of course that wasn't an ulterior motive, just an additional benefit of doing what he loved.

Personality: As his title might suggest, Scott is quick to temper and is known to over-react to even trivial things (sometimes in in overly positive way as well). At heart he is bold, brave and eager to prove his worth to whoever will bear witness... preferably hot babes. Not only does he know he is a talented combatant on horseback, he makes sure everyone else does too. If his persistence was a tangible currency he'd be a very wealthy man, except in those instances where he empties his gold pouch to buy drinks for the lady of that particular night. On his feet one could even call him immature, but on his steed "Maple" he is a serious and focused force to be reckoned with.

Biography: Raised by a wealthy merchant family in the capital city of Jotenvarr, Scott's childhood was fairly easy. Spoiled by his parents, he lacked any sense of responsibility. Once they finally had enough with him, Scott's parents sent him to the Knight's academy to become a soldier of the royal army. Finishing his training but still lacking the formal decorum needed to live and function as a knight, he left the army and became a sell-sword.

After a long absence from home, a postman tracked him down and delivered a message to him from his family; his younger sister, Michelle, had fallen gravely ill. Losing the use of her legs, her health only continues to deteriorate. The family's once overflowing wealth had run dry in an attempt to find a cure and provide treatment. Then, having returned home to visit Michelle and witnessing her terrible condition, Scott vowed to become a world-renowned warrior and earn as much money as possible to further the cause. He would go on to win several jousting tournaments, complete many arduous missions and build the reputation he has today.

Finally, word of the King's request reached Scott. Seeing this as the ultimate opportunity to potentially save his sister, Scott made his way back to Jotenvarr from the colder lands of Frosspeak in hopes of joining this elite army.

Personality: Heike is an open book when it comes to his current mood. Whether it be annoyed, excited, depressed, or angry. Despite this he isn't particularly prone to mood swings, and generally adopts a fairly neutral disposition. He is also a man of firm conviction, perhaps a little too firm. His allies will always be his allies, his enemies will always be his enemies, right will always be right and wrong will always be wrong. It takes the most extreme of circumstances to change his mind, however it's not impossible. In fact, it's happened at least once in his past.

A past he is not comfortable speaking of. Despite being an open book on his emotions, his history is a door he prefers to keep firmly shut. He will shoot down any attempts to uncover it with a smile at first, and then with escalating irritation and anger quickly afterwards. He's lost more than one traveling companion over the other being too nosy.

Aside from this, his history as a priest has instilled him with a great passion towards the sick and wounded, and he always tries to carry healing supplies with him into a fight, sticking close to his friends in case of an emergency. While he has steeled himself towards a more bloody path in life, he will stop fighting to tend to the wounded if the situation is dire, even leaving himself open in the process. It's resulted in him receiving scorn and praise in equal parts.

Biography: Heike was given to the priesthood of one of the many churches in the capital of Frosspeak at a young age. He was one too many mouthes to feed for his family, and they were compensated fairly for his future service. While many followers became monks, illuminating the darkness of the world with the scriptures and magic, Heike was taken instead to be raised in the arts of healing. A talent he excelled at from an early age. In the middle of the city, there was no shortage of illness, especially in the area his church was located. He spent years practicing with herbs, and studying the scripture, until he finally earned his right to use a staff.

At that point in his youth, not even saving a life filled him with as much pride as carrying his own staff.

It was presented to him by Master Werthmann, a figure of authority within the church, one said to even associate with His Holiness from time to time. He was a man built like a berserker and gentle as a mother. Their first meeting inspired Heike with awe, and he threw himself at the large man's knees, begging to be taught under him. All the pride he had been filled with at receiving his staff was cast away from that one chance to follow this man.

And follow him Heike did.

They left the inner city, and he found his new home in largest church in Frosspeak. It was a massive cathedral where, if the congregation was blessed, His Holiness would even preach a sermon on occasion. Here Heike found his new home, with a new teacher, and a new purpose.
Sadly, that purpose seemed to be more scripture. While the monks honed their magical abilities for the assistance of others on the road, the Cathedral was in the wealthiest part of the city. Very few sick that weren't nobility ever made their way to the building. Instead, Heike's skills rotted while he was taught to give sermons, eventually destined to lead a congregation instead of healing the sick. It was never a fate that sat well with him, but it was a fate he resigned himself to all the same.

Everything changed very quickly for him on his sixteenth birthday though. Prince Alexandro of Jotenvarr had fallen extremely ill, and Master Werthmann was dispatched as an emmisary to assist the Kingdom's priests in their efforts to cure him. More as a measure of goodwill (and Heike now suspected, a bit of espionage) than anything else. The Kingdom's priests were competent after all, and doubtless didn't want Master Werthmann directly treating the prince for security reasons. Heike accompanied his master on the journey, and stayed in Jotenvarr for the better part of a month while the prince recovered.

Meeting the man who would rule Jotenvarr changed Heike's life, and likely destiny. They didn't speak often, but there was a... magnetism to the prince that drew Heike to him. A genuine goodness, and powerful charisma. It was the same sort of awe that took hold of him the first time he met Master Werthmann. Alexandro was a person to admire, a person to follow. That, and being able to help someone sick again had helped remind Heike why he had fallen in love with the church in the first place.

It was what he considered the best month of his life, and upon leaving Jotenvarr he felt... empty.

Almost to the day, one year later Heike left the priesthood, in such a violent temperament it was muttered about for weeks afterwards. He managed to make his way out of Frosspeak unaccosted, despite expecting to be killed before he even left the Cathedral. Once his homeland was behind him, he snapped the head of his staff off, as a final breaking away from his old life. He did work in a border town for a time, trying to find a purpose for his life. When the calling came from the palace to find guards for the king, Heike didn't hesitate to set on the road towards the capital. He had a blacksmith fit his former staff, now a walking stick, with an iron spearhead, and he practiced fighting with anyone that would travel with him on the road.

By the time he reached the capital, he was far from a seasoned warrior, but his burning determination would hopefully make up the difference.

"A Wyvern is dangerous, just as an ax is dangerous. And unfortunately for you darling, I know how to use both and you will know what hell is truly like, Dear."

Alexandria has a love for high fashion and for traits that she think are needed for those in power, like Determination to rule, etiquette, combat skills, and willingness to think of the big picture. But as willful and powerful she is as a person she is still a person, even if she doesn't want everybody to know her hidden yet golden heart. Alexandria has a strong moral compass as she believed justice, equal rights for all, including for the poor and non-humans, and she cannot stand around doing nothing while she could be do something to help her nation or it's people.

Biography:
Alexandria was a minor noble born Lady Viola and Lord Walter. Alexandria as she would put it is modest for somebody of her standing,  her family's manor was of modest size and the guards and knighrs hired vy her family were of average skills, it would seem Alexandria was destined to be an average noble of no note. But that changed when the young noble Lady wandered into the village near her family's estate and was peddled by a merchant to buy an unusually large egg. Why she bought she doesn't remember why rather it was a childs youthful naivety or something else it doesn't matter as the egg changed Alexandria's life but when the egg hatched it revealed to be a Wyvern at first her parents wanted to sell the Wyvern in the capital since they have nobody with the skills to train it or even ride it. But Alexandria managed to convince her parents to let her keep it and train it. At first it was hard and she gotten burns and cuts from training it but after months of training Alexandria managed to train the Wyvern to let her ride it and even fight aback on it as her father got her a tutor to help use axes while training the wyvern. After the Wyvern was trained Alexandria named the Wyvern, Vivienne.

Alexandria and Vivienne had become infamous amongst the noble houses as the pair were odd and how strong of a fighter the two were, and with Alexandria ' strong will and cunning tongue she was feared by all in court. Except for one, Lord Baron Adam, who was five years older then Alexandria. Lord Adam sees beauty and great personal strength within Alexandria, at first Alexandria sees him as nothing more then a noble who was too weak to fight and weak willed to lead. But her mind changed on him as they talked to each other and became friends and eventually married which made her become a Baroness.

The two were in love with each other and Adam even cared for Vivienne. But the marriage would be short as Lord Adam caught a terrible Fever and he died in his sleep. And ever since his funeral, Alexandria has been trying to find meaning in her life. As ruling solely for the sake of ruling has never been her wish. To her ruling needs a reason and happily for her she recently found a reason to fight. For the king and his kingdom.

However, despite all of her overwhelming positive properties, Lisana has always been saddened by her barren nature. Unable to deliver an heir to Nijeer, Lisana secretly grew to loathe herself for this 'inadequacy'. When Nijeer stumbled upon a wayward youth and brought him into their homes, the woman held both love and disdain for the boy. On one had, they finally had a son to call their own... On the other, Kalim bore a constant stigma that she only recognized in private. He was only their son by title, not by blood.

Personality:

A very straight-forward individual that wastes no time with frills or common courtesies. One could say he's quite cold in his approach, always looking at the objective side of things with very few instances of him taking a personal interest. It is for this reason he excels in combat, seeing battle as the only real means of expressing himself as he truly is. Even then, he is stoic and calm; striking with surgical precision in an attempt to end lesser foes quickly. However, one can truly see him smile if they are his equal in the ways of war.

This does not mean he is without his moments. Kalim specifically has a weakness for protecting children, specifically orphans. Alistaf was not a safe place for the impoverished, merchants and nobles able to do as they please behind closed curtains without many stepping in the way. Nijeer was one of the few exceptions, and that rubbed off on the boy from an early age. Honor and humility, as the old man taught him, were the true ways of the warrior, a lesson that Kalim took to heart. Even now, he will not fight an opponent beneath him or strike down an defenseless man or woman... However, these restraints are tested on the matter of children and those who would take advantage of others.

Biography:

Growing up as a child orphaned by the war, Kalim grew up in the shadier streets and alleys of Alistaf. Surviving the harsh abuse by the nobles and merchants at an impressionable age was begining to leave a mark no the bow, causing him to be come desensitized and often seeming unmoved by his acts of theft and robbery. During his time in the city, a powerful noble took an interest in his actions and made it a point to captured the young man and force him into servitude. Now acting as a hired thug to a merciless master, Kalim saw multiple atrocities and committed some of his own.

One night, Kalim was tasked to assassinate a civilian who was once a great general of the city. Having been 'trained' to not ask question, Kalim set out to complete his appointed task. Finding the man's abode while he was away, Kalim waited on the edge of the small property for some time before falling asleep due to his mounting fatigue. When he awoke, he was covered in a sheet with a plate of food sitting before him that wasn't there before. Curious, he checked the house once more; and there sat his target Nijeer. Presenting himself as a lowly traveler, Kalim inquired about his treatment; to which Nijeer claimed responsibility and concern for the boy. Days passed in Nijeer's care, and Kalim began to grow fond of the man and his rather reserved wife. However, it wasn't long before his employer grew wise and began sending other assassins and thugs to finish the original plot. Every time, Kalim stood for the older couple, prompting Nijeeer to suggest the man stay with them indefinitely and eventually offer to officially adopt him.

As the war came to a close, so did the attacks on Nijeer and his wife Lisana. It was then revealed that the noble was acting on the part of the 'Pharaoh' to eliminate possible loose ends. Fearing for the life of his new family, Kalim suggested seeking asylum in the nation of Jotenvarr. Nijeer declined this notion, stating that his pride in his nation was not tarnished, despite the acts of a cowardly tyrant. Still, Kalim had decided to depart to find a living there and possibly establish a new home for the old man.

And so, Kalim set out on his adventure to Jotenvarr, a wandering swordsman looking to flex his skill and establish a new home for his new-found family.

Personality: Typically greedy, Mikael would complete an objective better than anyone if enough gold is offered, and would suffer through the worst torture for a bag of coins. He does, however, understand his role on a team, and will likely finish a battle before claiming his spoils… unless something particularly shiny catches his eye.

Biography: Born the second son of a poor family, Mikael Ambrys understood what it took to survive the slums of a city from day one. He and his older brother would take to the streets, picking the pockets of those unsuspecting and stealing bread from bakers at every opportunity. When his first sister was born, the brothers took advantage, bringing her along the moment she could walk and using her to distract passerby, the older siblings soon swooping in and grabbing loose items.

As time went by and another sister was born, Mikael grew tired of thieving in his late teens. He made his goodbyes, took a bag of gold, and left with a circus that was passing through, essentially becoming an apprentice to the Ringmaster. Ambrys ended up being quite the showman, reveling in the attention of massive crowds and basking in the glory he gained. He soon realized that he wasn’t fit for the tradition sense of thieving, but rather the legal approach that was in the public eye. He decided to abandon the carney lifestyle and return home, but with a plan in mind.

Underground fight rings began popping up, horse races that caused panic in the streets started, and vast amounts of money started disappearing out from under the noses of any authority. Quite simply, Mikael Ambrys had arrived, and his charisma was unstoppable. No one knew how, but this greedy, conniving man knew how to draw a crowd and still make a massive profit. Having learned to defend himself and mend his fighters, he effectively became a crime kingpin that couldn’t be pinned. He eventually left this life and decided to draw a blade for good for once, which is more or less how he ended up in the current scenario. His roots remain planted deep in the criminal underworld, but who needs to know that, right?
