I was about to ask the odd creature even more questions, but, given the fact that he doesn't seem to want to answer anything, I just decided to start heading in a direction, thinking that I'd find what I'm looking for eventually. "Come on, Alan, this guy's not answering anything anymore, we're leaving," I say to Alan who shrugs and starts following me through this forest. This place, not to mention this forest was still foreign to me, so I thought I was lost a few times but eventually, Alan and I made it to another clearing alive, and in one piece. "Ha, see, that wasn't so bad. We can do this without that guy answering questions, I mean, what does he know anyways?" I checked to make absolute sure that I didn't have any weird mark on my body, and from what I could see, I didn't have a single one... at least, not one that I wouldn't consider 'normal', so I assumed that the guy was lying just so I'd keep wandering around in the wilderness, and distrust other... whatever these things were.
"No sanctuary, not with the mark you bear," I mock in front of Alan, adding "Yeah, that invisible mark that only I can see. What? You can't see it? What a shame," my tone of voice was obviously a mocking one, given that neither Alan or I could find any unusual markings... but, then again, neither of us knew what we were looking for, and for all I knew, this marking was in a spot where I couldn't see it... I suppose I'd find out as soon as I entered some sort of civilization, I just hoped that Alan could run away fast enough if these... er... things decided they didn't like me due to what that weirdo from earlier said. Now, if I could just find another creature of the same species, maybe I'd be able to at least have Alan figure out what that mark is, because it would be the only difference between myself and that other creature. I think as I was just about to start wandering around in the other clearing, somewhat north of the one we were in before, however, before I do, I look back at where the others could be, and even tell Alan "Wait... we shouldn't abandon the others. Even if we don't know them, I'm sure they'll help us out in the future," I then stay put, waiting for anyone else to head towards this clearing.
