It's this candidate said that, then this candidate said this, and then a senator reacted by saying something else. It's sensationalized in the extreme, it's polarized so much that no one will even attempt to listen to someone on the opposite side of the party line, and not a single thing is ever changed. Fuck that. That is not what politics should be about. Therefore I have little respect for people who involve themselves in such bullshit.

Fine. I'd love to change it, but I'm just one person and the system has so much inertia to it that I doubt anything short of a revolution could change it significantly. And then the new system that replaces it would inevitably become corrupt itself and refuse to change. You see, politics just seems to bring out the worst in all of us, and I'd rather keep myself clean of it entirely. However, I do recognize that it is important and so I do vote, for all the good it does.
