Well two of my characters aren't there so no decisions for Cori and Ash!

Dae though... Hmm she could go either way as in a way, again, it is deciding between Lucius and Gisgo. My gut feeling for her is following Lucius but I'll think on it over night

@FernStone - Whatever you decide, please take don't hesitate to take sometime, a fortnight or two to think on where Dae stands!

This is a good opportunity to really get back into our characters' shoes to see the aftermath in their own perspective. In the heat of this death eluding moment, what would our characters do?! This is a time in which power-mongering feudal lords may no longer hold absolute power, in the face of absolute monarchs! Additionally, the balance of power has heavily shifted as they did during the several centuries after the bloody Crusades X3

@Nevis - As you well know, Uriel's situation is rather delicate. His invocations have placed him in a precarious situation where he cannot simply idle outside of Richter von Conqvist's watchful authority for more than 24 hours or he is simply dead on the spot. It's the nature of dealings associated with Conqvist and how dangerous and malicious a man he is. At the very least, the narrow death eluding incidents will certainly tip Uriel's hand in how he decides to handle this situation. Does he simply escape into the tunnels leading into the Merchant's Quarter or does he decide to return to the Palais de Voltas? The choice is Uriel's and will see fruition along with all the other characters' decisions in the Intermission.

What are your thoughts, Nevis?

Uriel will be going with Lucius. He both has spite towards those at the Palais and wants to keep Lucius safe as he can-and his only chance of survival is at Voltas, so he will be planning to slip away to find Conqvist or whomever during it to get on that at some point during the counterattack.

@Nevis - That's 1 in favor of the counterattack on the Palais de Voltas. We'll certainly see how Uriel will conduct himself once the survivor gathering decides on where to go!

Update

@ Everyone - In the meantime, I will be throwing up an Intermission in the IC so that we can all roleplay our characters' reactions and decision on this matter. Expect an IC post in a couple hours or tomorrow!

Why are we voting on one choice? Couldn't our characters go their separate ways?

@Konica - I'm glad you mentioned this, Konica. I should clarify that the characters are only as bound as far as their allegiance permits and could technically go their separate ways if they escaped into the Sewer Tunnel opening leading towards the Merchant's Quarter. This would be the most reasonable and safest course of action now that the coast is clear.

On the other hand, there's a chance to penetrate the Palais de Voltas for a high risk, high reward opportunity for the sole reason that Lucius will specify.

To clarify further, these are the options:

1) High risk, high reward strike on Palais de Voltas

2) Low risk escape into the Merchant's Quarter where everyone goes their separate ways

The pre-emptive strike seems like madness, but all will be answered in the IC!

@ Everyone - On a side note, I am nearly finished with the Interlude and will be posting relatively soon, preferably in an 1 - 8 hours. Episode 2 will begin once everyone has voted. I'm also updating the First OOC post where I can post locations and notable secondary characters to better clarify what's happened, where everything's happening, and who's who. All be answered in due time 8)

Well, for now I'm voting for the second option. Even if everyone else goes with the first option, I don't see why my character wouldn't leave them and do the second option.

My vote is for the counter attack.

Having thought about it a bit, haha, I think that Dae would risk it and go for an attack. She'll take the opportunity.

@FernStone - Oh my ... now this night is turning out to be more unexpected than we thought! Dae seems like she would be the type of person that could swing in either direction, but following Lucius and Uriel could make this an episode full of character development and interactions.

@Konica - A respectable vote and quite commendable even if Lady Heurassein maybe the only character to decline joining a maddening assault on one of the most heavily fortified spots in Voltas. We still haven't seen how the other remaining votes will pan out. Shows fortitude, steely resolve, and why the fates have placed Adrianna as the sole head owner of the Heurassein Powder Company. Much is in store for her as well as her decisions for the Heurassein Powder Company's condition after she departs into the tunnels that lead directly under the Merchant's Quarter.

@Nevis - No one knows where Conqvist is, but Episode 2 will bring his whereabouts to full circle. Uriel's involvement in the counter-attack would certainly hasten knowledge of Conqvist and some other rather interesting developments 8)

@ Everyone - Interlude Segment is almost ready for posting, so you all won't need to wait long. Will also have an updated segment of the characters and locations so that there's a reference guide to the incidents as well as how everything connects. Once we have all the votes, don't hesitate to post your characters' reactions. We will be moving into the Episode 2 once you've all posted so please stay tuned 8)

@GourmetItaliaShe definitely could, but I decided that she would follow Lucius in this instance.

By segment of characters do you mean our characters?

@FernStone - This is why it's such a godsend that she's in Lucius' company alongside Uriel and maybe Balthazar if @DJAtomika votes yay for participating in the counter-attack. The strike party would have balls, leadership, intelligence, and a mix of elemental ignition.

Regarding the Character Segments, yes, there will be updates on our main characters as well as the secondary characters, haha.

Onatha is staying with Lucius. He found her, he is her connection to everything and now she has a purpose.

Counter attack for Ona.

...and why the fates have placed Adrianna as the sole head owner of the Heurassein Powder Company...

Just to be clear: Adrianna doesn't own the company, her father does. She just assumes the responsibilities of the owner because her father remains hidden from the public eye. On paper, she has no power. Its not a huge detail but its there.

Also, would it be alright if I made a second character? Not a huge character, just a semi-important NPC like Edgar. I have an idea of what I want to do with Adrianna, but I need another character to push her story along.

@Konica - Understood. Thanks for the clarification. Very interested in how Adrianna's father is portrayed and the rest of the Heurassein family as a whole. Adds another dimension to perspectives on Adrianna given that her modest indifference to others isn't what it seems. We could see how Adrianna's raising shaped who she is and how her family formerly treated her as well as how they currently treat and view her!

In regards to a second character; please, by all means draft another one! We'll work things out with integrating him/her and tweak certain details to fit the story 8). *grins*

@SkullsandSlippers - With Onatha's inclusion, we have Leadership, Intelligence, a mix of Elemental Ignition, and Eyes! This is gonna be a near full-house pre-emptive strike!

Ona will have gained a few hours' rest and have felt somewhat more clear headed, despite having endured such a brutal struggle against Conqvist's seer, Catherine. I wanted to also mention that she will feel a very odd, albeit unexplained feeling, as if a presence is circling around her. It's not quite as mentally draining as engaging in a full on, pitched-seer struggle, but seems a bit like something's tickling her, but she can't see who's doing it.

Well, considering the Seer factor at hand, I assume Korkud will likely want to get rid of whatever knows of his presence before getting the hell away from Voltas.

@ Everyone - Well, this is certainly quite unexpected! I initially only thought that maybe one or two characters would engage in the pre-emptive strike - counter-attack. To have 4 presents an interesting case and could very well produce some rather interesting discoveries and developments. Suffice to say, there is a high risk involved with a forced intrusion upon the Palais de Voltas, but it would also allow for some a chance to blunt a huge thorn in each character's side.

On a side note, we're very close finalizing Episode 2's Initiation and I have the Interlude almost ready with 1 or 2 sections left for polishing. We'll have that Interlude ready tonight or early tomorrow!

@Peik - Korkud's case presents an interesting one and his involvement would, without a doubt, add another element of perspective, intrigue, force of arms, and opportunities to strike in the root of the current problems themselves. If anything, Korkud, having endured so much, and survived ordeals he would've failed, would likely see things others probably wouldn't and sniff out threats before they materialize.

That's 4 Votes towards the Counter Attack

@Nevis - Uriel Aryanpur - Delacroix

@SkullsandSlippers - Onatha

Is Richter the big idiot Pretend King that took Lucius's place?

If so, Balthazar is going to wholeheartedly wreck his shit with ruthless determination.
