NameSterling Archer Rochester
NicknamesChester - Really the only nickname that Sterling tends to like. Well, the most. Most people simply call him Sterling.
Archie - Another nickname, but one mostly associated with negative connotations. People who don't like him often call him Archie. (he also realizes that he's named after the main character in the show Archer; because I also just realized that)

GenderMale
Sexual OrientationHeterosexual
Grade LevelSenior
Social ClassWealthy - Born upon the ever rising stage set by his grandfather,
Leonard Archer Rochester, and further reinforced by his rising star,
Beaumont Archer Rochester, the path both men paved lit the way for the prodigal son: Sterling Archer Rochester. With a top paid director as a father, staring in box office hits at a fairly young age put Sterling's face on numerous articles, painted him a prodigy and a son destined for the Hollywood throne. Living up to that kind of fame and fortune, for a kid, seemed easy enough; not much was expected of someone so young. However, when the world started looking toward his future, Sterling nearly shied away from acting altogether. However, with a father as tough as nails as Beau was, Sterling went no where and he had to live with being bombarded with stress.
Luckily,
Diana Rosenberg Rochester, his mother, kept at his side the entire way. Having won a few awards as a writer for TV Shows and even more as an actor in various films (Diana avoids her husband's movies at all costs, wanting to show the world that she was more than capable of standing on her talent alone), Diana knew quite a fair bit about show business. Of the seedy schemes and ploys of various companies, how to play the game behind the scenes and she taught all she could to her growing son.
Altogether the Rochester family has a grand total of 5 Oscars, two for Best Actress, one for Best Supporting Actress, and two for Best Film. Sterling has won a kid's choice awards alongside Sebastian Gable, and one Golden Globe in his slightly later career during his middle school days.
AppearanceTall. Imposing. About 6'2" if one really wanted an accurate depiction of his height. Genes do an astounding thing when one's mother is an actress and their father is among the better—much better—looking directors in the Hollywood business. And the way Sterling holds himself, it's to remind people just where he got those genes from (and those jeans, because they're Valentino. Don't forget). Honestly, it didn't take long for Sterling to fill out, with his sunburst, freckled cheek bones prominent on his face and lips sculpted to fit perfectly under that pointed, defined nose. Talk about a man specifically designed to knock anyone's socks off.
Looks for a guy like him is kind of a requirement. Not a lot of places he can go without being recognized as a Rochester child. That's kinda difficult, like intensely difficult. Sterling, of all people, tends to stand out with his filled out figure, and imposing height (how's the weather up there Valentino?). And, for a guy, Sterling likes to dress up nice and he has the absolute budget for it too. Though spoiled in that regard, Sterling's earned a lot of what he's got with an unbelievable diet, hard work, and quite the determination. His father's almost skin and bones and his mother hit the lottery with her body type and the fact that she has to be a vegan. He, on the other hand, couldn't have been chubbier as a little kid and, going from middle school (and thus, puberty) to high school, cute little freckled menace turned into beefcake stud. Huh, guess that's how puberty works for some people. Genes. Damn them.
A salacious wink and a charming smile, that's all the kind of power he needs.

Personality"Give me relief, Father; I idolize your feet; I sweep the streets of gold; I cry tears of blood; And I die in your name.
Give me relief, father. Only your son; your only son. Crumbled to dust under heavy feet."
A man molded and caste by his surroundings fits perfectly in what's been envisioned for him. That leaves little and no room for what that man desires for himself. Thus, he becomes what his father wants and what his father demands and what his father requires of him. Expectations have always been a pedestal for Sterling to stand upon—stuck to the role his father dreamed for him. To become less of a man and more of a puppet, quietly singing "Little wooden head go play your part."
Thus, Sterling becomes a product of his surroundings, taking on a role and playing it to perfection. Every bit that comes his way takes a piece of him, working as plaster over the cracks in his personality. The mold takes and it takes and it takes, waning away to hollow out the inside of the caste so that whatever's inside becomes the shell. Unknowingly, that's what his father desires: for Sterling to be the man he wants him to be. And, though his mother sits on the sides wanting more for him, Sterling follows without question. Sometimes it's hard to think for one's self and it's easiest to let someone take the control bar and move the strings where they need to go. Or maybe he's been led to believe those strings are there for the best.
Playing the part, for Sterling, comes easily, however, when nothing is expected of him, Sterling wanders aimlessly. For him to operate properly, there must be some kind of guidance, some way to interact, a path to follow. It leaves him stiff when he should just be himself. That doesn't come as naturally because what is Sterling naturally? He's a sheep on the hillside, looking for the cane of his shepherd. Yet, when given a role to fill, nothing ever quite comes close to Sterling's interpretation.
At what cost did his father pay to take away what his son could be.

HistoryHis father before him and his father before him and their father before them. Children owe a lot to their fathers, men to be idolized. They see what's set before them as an example to follow, rather than a mold to crawl into. Past examples are meant to remain examples, to learn and to live by. To grow from father to father with the purpose of becoming one's own man or woman. However, sometimes the environment molds and churns too hard. It re-purposes a child to exact specifications and lays them neat on a conveyor belt.
Before coming into a life set before him, Sterling had a plan devised for him by his father. And thus, from this plan originated a precise mold that his son would be placed in to eventually grow into the ideal man his father wanted. So set in his director's mind, Beau hadn't seen the warnings once his son came into the world. Beau wanted his son to be an actor of the highest calibre, a prodigy among children and even more so among adult peers, so much so that Sterling lived, breathed, and slept in cinema. Hollywood became him and in doing s did Beau shatter any hopes of Sterling becoming his own man, unable to take steps on his own and without the guidance of a hand hovering above.
From an early age, Sterling thrived in the acting community, starting out in more family friendly blockbuster hits made by Beau himself. Diana, his mother, stood by his side every step of the way, letting him grasp her hand tightly as she led the way for him. Yet, she wanted more for her son for the sake of her son than her husband could muster in his waking hours. Thus, Sterling was subjected to many, many evenings bleeding into bickering arguments over his own future, something he supposedly had no choice over. For a child, Sterling didn't mind handing the reigns over, after all his parents knew best.
Unfortunately, that created quite a schism between both mother and father, and while they kept their marriage stable, it was no where near as strong as it used to be. Sterling became their sole focus, allowing the child to further choose for himself what he wished. However, years spent following footsteps meant he didn't quite know what to do when hopping off the path—when making a path for himself. Thus, he normally allowed his parents to make the choices for him. So dependent on their decisions, Diana did her best to steer him in the right direction, yet ended up only further digging her son's hole for him. Eventually, she saw that whatever was happening to Sterling's identity, it'd have to be Sterling who climbed out of the ditch he'd been dug in since a before he was baby.
Beau, so proud of his success took to further restricting Sterling's growth and development, running a stringent plan that would best produce the finest heir to their directorial empire. Among those guidelines came Caelbury Academy, where a number of fathers and fathers before him had attended to both hone their talents and expand on those well hidden. Sterling, however, counted himself among the wealthy, with but a clear goal in mind: please his family, earn what he deserved.
Favorite memoryThe first ever movie that his mother took him to. For Sterling that meant joy, unrepentant joy because now he could simply watch without care. Diana didn't take him to movies to study, to take notes on acting decisions, camera techniques, symbolism, props and lighting. When he went to see a movie with his mother, she stowed away any notions of 'acting fame' and simply reminded Sterling that he was a kid and his only job should have been to be a kid.
Least favorite memoryAt the age of eight, Sterling made his first debut in acting alongside a close family friend's son, Sebastian Gable. It was at hearing his friend would no longer be taking roles in movies did Sterling first realize how tough Hollywood could be. However, that wasn't quite the worst part of his memory. Asking his mother what happened fed through to his father's response, cold and distant and cruel.
"That kid wouldn't have made it anyway. He had the looks and the talent, but he didn't have the guts. Guess all the Gables are good for is mediocrity; don't worry Sterling, you'll amount to more than that hack could ever come up with."
That painted his father in a different light, no longer the man looking after his well being, but a cruel monger throwing insults at a kid who reasonably couldn't handle Hollywood drama. What kid could? All he could remember than was his mother yelling something else, smacking Beau clear across the face and stomping out with Sterling in her arms. And thinking: what would his father say if that were him out there, trying to live as someone else?
