@Windicator You very well can invest initially in Generation. (It is smart if you want to gain Metal Empire. I do suggest communicating with the GM what Digimon you'd be okay with having and what ones don't sit well with you, although I'd assume Pupumon as a Wind Guardian + Metal Empire means CannonBeemon and the like?) You understand it well enough. I was just saying that it is as reasonably that, should a player choose, a Generation value of zero could be had.
Also I was just curious, and making sure you were still interested, since you'd not said anything before.

I should not even open this site and just focus on important stuff instead but:

I actually found where I indeed got the idea to invest in Gen to begin with.
The latter half of the rules on page 4 Reads as follows:
Thus leading to my misconception (or just plain reading from rule book) that one would (and probably should) invest in gen to begin with.

That said; @tobiax has a (kinda) point
<Snipped quote by tobiax>
It's just maybe some would indeed be more complex coming from (probably?) a data stream, while fresh, some "base code" is more complex than others but I'll drop it at that and go with generation value of 1 (I guess?)

I just might end up changing the Baby 1 too though (as said, I've only give some thought for this)

Well you can leave Generation at 1 if you want.

My idea for generation is a bit different from the somewhat confusing rule entry. Which means that every digimon have at least 1 at Generation, as its their 'Source code point' And by loosing their 1 source code point, it basically remove a digimon from existence.

I put 1 into all stats including Generation for a reason, and not for people to remove them and spend them somewhere else.

Well then explain that, so we don't have these issues of misunderstanding.

This is me being indecisive as always, driving myself into decision fatigue as always but Here comes a new challenger for my partner digi -_-'

I was thinking of Bommon as an alternative to Pupumon as the former has at least 2 lines I'm kinda fond of. For that matter, it'd get a little redundant but I can always go Kuramon if I just burn out and feel like nothing hits the spot. That's the last resort though.

@Aurrorian @Natsu Do you happen to still be interested? (May as well do what I can as an active player if the DM's going to go silent.)

Well I'm a bit busy like usual.

But use whatever Digimon you feel fits you the most.

Each Family has certain Features available to its members. Some are automatic and need no specific investment, while others need to be expressly chosen. Features can allow altered modes of transportation, such as flying, swimming, or burrowing underground, unique fighting abilities, and other ways of making a Digimon unique. Each Digimon species may start with a single Feature from those available to it based on its Families, regardless of any drawbacks that may be applied. Digimon with a maximum level below Ultimate(5) may not be allowed more than three (3) features. No Digimon may have more than five (5) Features in effect at any one time, regardless of if effects are passive or active.

I don't quite understand the implications of underlined sentences. I believe either "may" or "regardless" is the incorrect choice of wordage here. Also, is it thus possible to possess 3 features right from the start?

They are correct.
I don't think that's actually possible. Like, I don't think you can have that much Generation and also meet the stat requirements that several Features have.

@tobiax If so, the latter clause "regardless...applied" is confusing and redundant. And I'm sure stat requirements like (Requires: Arms) is hard to meet.

@Iatos How lenient will you be on "retraining"? Like on a per level basis, between plot points, or simply add a feature any time a slot's empty?

However, the player may gain two bonuses of 2*Level to any stat if at least one bonus is greater than one for each stat from at least one of the Families.

@tobiax I don't quite understand this either, do enlighten me.

Like, if it would potentially put a stat into the negative range, should a Feature eventually exist like that, (Or give an elemental weakness or unfavored terrain) you would have to take it if you can't earn any other.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not...

That's for multi-classing. When you multiclass, you get two *2's to replace two *1's, or whathaveyou.
What's this about "retraining"?

Permitted to being a strongly implied must. Odd, yes, but not entirely wrong?
Don't want to sound to forceful.

@tobiax Okay, so for example I take two Families, Deep Savers and Dragons Roar. Dragon's Roar's Power increase is greater than Deep Saver's, and Deep Saver's Endurance increase is greater than Dragon's Roar's. So when a Digimon with both Families levels up, it can choose to apply a 2*Level increase instead of the normal 1*Level increase, to up to 2 stats like the above situation. Correct?

@tobiax Language was invented in the first place so implications through vague grunts that happened to sound like "may" and "must" actually had definition. Learn your vocab please.

Correct, but you may only select two *5's from the ones that those two families usually get, i.e. Power, Endurance, Fortitude, or Vitality. Two of either Power, Dexterity, Agility, Vitality, Wisdom, or Cunning, (provided you didn't use a five on it) can be a *2.

Well I don't think its easy to change, add, remove features. But learning them from the beginning will be easier, after that more difficult.

Basically, I'm sort of both, not really preoccupied by anything but I'm exactly feeling the after effects of putting my time and mind to something because so many other things keep catching up to me.

I've also decided to go with Bommon for Digimon with no real line preference from there.

please excuse me while I'll sort my shit out.
