Yeah exactly as it says. I got a jonesing for like a game that's has that style. I got nothing really in mind since there's all sorts of approaches but I was thinking it would be be filled with all that stuff that is recognizable to the genre you know like crystals out of the ass, ancient evil, weird tech levels. It would be a bit self-aware but not like parodic in tone.
As for the system/ rules I'm gonna be using something called OVA which should be simple enough for newcomers and is there to sort of there to give a bit of flavor to the characters by having something close to stats and spice up combat with the fight rules and the fact that it allows you to make like special fight moves which all makes it gamey which is what I want since this is based on video games.
How this would all work is that it would regular freeform for everything but fights and certain moments where I'd think a chance of failure would spice things up so I would order a skill roll.
