so I plan to make a roleplay based around the concept of monster hunters, below is an explanation

In the world of man, human and beast roam the land alongside fearsome monsters that would gladly tear us apart, from hideous fiends to ravenous ghouls, these creatures often cross paths with that of humans, which is why it is up to them to fight back, there is each generation a few who are recruited into training to fight this evil by a man or woman known as The Ravencloak, the Ravencloak is a master in fighting things that would happily do us harm, each generation a ravencloak would find an apprentice to surpass them once they died, leaving behind the inherited knowledge for the apprentice, however, only one remains...

so basically people who hunt monsters have started to lose their place in the world and the monsters who roam the world haven't been stopped, if you are interested, I will be happy to have you.

(Just a slice of nitpicky here - after greek/roman times would be dark ages/medieval/early gunpowder :P but I assume the above is what you're getting at)

So, basically - tech of just before guns came around, but no guns actually do come around?

If so, that's fine to me - I've always found guns to be a little cheesy anyways.

So what kind of monsters are out and about?

@ArenaSnowyou have swors, you have butchers and farmers, like in eragon without dragons something like that but there aren't castles or dungeons or guards or things of that nature, this will take place in a town called gilden

^ I think I've played with one character ever that fits in this roleplay's age group; barely. That said, for now I'm cautiously optimistic about expanding horizons a little.

Actually, I'm wondering about the setting - academy? A group pulled together for ___ reason, from ___ source?

Seems a little vague to me as to the context of the characters. I hate the idea of making one only to find he(she?) doesn't actually fit. Given I have no idea how the characters will come together, that bit leaves the CS a little too open ended unless I take liberties I'm not sure I ought to take.

@ArenaSnowmy character will have pulled these 'kids' together by whatever way he can reach them, he might find laughings character on the street homeless for example, and there wont be an academy, if it gets to such a point he will take them in at his own house and train them to fight the dark creatures that inhabit the world. also I'm sorry that my time period is vague, I'm not exactly sure what time point is entirely ;p
