@Konica - Yeah, it's really the drafting, trial-and-error that take the cake. Not an engineer by any means, but if something can be built with relatively simple electronic wiring and manipulations, it's more than possible! When I was a freshman in high school, my father once helped me build a wooden toy car that could run on its own with a close liner and a mouse trap. I didn't know what the hell I was doing, but in the end, it totally worked and I got an A in the class 8)

I once designed a guillotine for homework.

Shit was weird.

@Peik - Wow ... that's frightening ... and altogether awesome. Geebus ... having to implement carpentry and then utilize rope and a a blade. Must've been quite an experience designing a whole guillotine. I certainly wouldn't have pulled off something like that. How did actually turn out?

Scaringly enough, it worked. Tested a couple of blades with it on watermelons.

@Peik - So you're saying you sliced watermelons with a personally designed Guillotine? Must've been one helluva a height to drop that blade! I imagine that it might probably work well with slicing rows of oranges, melons, or tough fruits like durian.

It wasn't height, really, the thing worked on a pivot principle. You pulled the blade up with the help of a rope and when let go it moved in a half-circle motion, cutting whatever was in the half-circle killzone underneath.

@Peik - Well as long as it's not messy or properly slicing and dicing desert fruits, it's all desirable after potatoes and gravy. If you've got a video of it, I recommend throwing it up on youtube and showing us for some quality entertainment 8).

@ Everyone - Hope your posts are coming along nicely! I updated the Non-Player/Writer Section under Characters with character descriptions and will finish up with Factions, Episode Descriptions and Voltas Locations in the next few days. Won't be long now, folks! If you have recommendations to improving the OOC Page or have more questions, please let me know, hehe.

Apologies, I got wrapped up in other things over the last few days. I will post in just a moment.

I am actually in our college's 'Simulations and Game Development' program-making games, including video (although this is a test to see if I am even interested in that path, not am planning to yet). What sort of game are you working on?

Edit: My post is up. For what Gourmet said, Uriel is entirely set on going to Voltas, planning to help remove the problem of the seer and later slip away in the confusion to seek out Conqvist's or whomever's aid to stave off the demons from killing him within a day. Although, as he also mentioned, if anyone else has any other desires or ideas for an interaction or to help him in that...

Me? It's just a word based rpg game thing. Pretty simple since it's only last year of highschool. I'm actually planning on going into general programming (comp sci) rather than video gaming programming, but it's fun and works for a school project. It's programmed in java so the interface is a bit crude since I like... only started teaching myself Java in June.

My schedule is really tight, might be able to post by the weekend. My character is splitting up from the rest of the group so my posts (or lack of) shouldn't interfere with everyone else's.

Don't know what to post.

If it comes to it, just put Bal as resting. Not really thinking of anything. Tired after fighting for his life then carrying first Lucius then Ona while choking on smoke.

@FernStone - Yep, know how ya feel, Fern. Just recover, don't over-exert, and when you're free, charge at it. I've been under the weather myself with simulated graphical assignments, snarky supervisors from work, and a cold (which I'm almost recovered from). Sleep, Chicken Noodle Soup, Salad wraps, and Sandwiches never tasted so good or refreshing.

Funny thing is that this cold's been rather mild in that I haven't lost my smell or coughed ridiculous phlegm; just a dry throat and drowsiness. Yesterday, I did feel under the weather due to some stomach bug, but after a good night's rest, I'm actually feeling okay and hoping it doesn't affect my productivity. Let's drink to your swift recovery and me not catching another cold because catching a cold after recovering from another does in fact happen!

Also, cool beans and good practice with learning Java. I remember you mentioning something about using java and gaining access to the old Mibbit chat room. Still wrapping my head around how you're still able to pull that off along with focusing on CS in university. Working on a game will be a good way to jump start your skills. You'll definitely have your hands full once you reach uni!

@Nevis – Small posts are a start, although let's. This is good. Not only are small posts are better than nothing, they help jump start the creative engines! I hope the video-game development course lets ya decide what you want to do. Game development's tough and it's a slippery road to move up the ranks through Q&A. I know a couple buddies that went through as Triple A game-testers and it took them 15 years to even acquire consideration from game dev or senior game project directors. Best known way to get in as a game-dev is to go the indie (stands for independent) route. If you've got a finished mobile app indie game ready to go if ya talk to a major game dev director with experience on certain game engines, you've pretty much got a green light into having an interview or considerable recommendation to other game devs from other Triple A game studios!

@Konica – Yep, I know how you feel. This semester's taking a turn for the brutal. Over the weekend, let's see how Lady Heurassein reacts to the current situation. Does she have a gunpowder warehouse in Voltas? Only she would know ...

@SkullsandSlippers – I feel you on the stomach bug and spent the most of yesterday (the 9th) resting and recuperating. Not fun and feels draining. I just hope wherever you got the bug, that someone in your classroom isn't passing it on to others. When you've got a moment, take a moment to enjoy a breath of fresh air and then see the world from Ona's point of view.

@DJAtomika – If it helps, Balthasar was a trusted Delacroix retainer and would probably know the ins and outs of the Palais and its secret passages better than anyone else, save Lucius and Conqvist and a few others. Maybe he could use this to knowledge to his advantage recommend several unused, underground passage or inspire everyone with a boost of confidence.

He isn't a leader type any more, and I don't see how knowledge of those things helps in the current situation.

Secrets? He wouldn't have cared about those things unless specifically asked to care.

His job was to keep the king safe or die trying. And back then he was simple. Job or die.

@DJAtomika - I had hoped that you could've taken the initiative to have Balthazar just mention a couple secret routes since a crack military retinue such as the famous Garde Delacroix would at least know of several escape routes. They would serve as a way to get in and out of the Palais and increase our characters' survival chances, at the very least Balthazar's. This is a wasted opportunity, but oh well, we have to move the story along.

@FernStone - I have some important tidbits regarding some historical referencing that is awaiting opening in your PM box. Whenever you've got a moment 8)
