I am sufficiently hyped.

<Snipped quote by Muttonhawk>

Imperfect perfection, flawed flawlessness.

I can guarantee you that Toun will never be rid of the curiosity of Vulamera. She'll seek to understand him.

Welp, this sounds like fun, but I wish I could see Vulamera's CS. :C

"The Good Summaritan Rule: Thou Shalt Summarise Your Posts"

Odd, I don't recall that first post having a summary, OP.

I kid, of course. This definitely looks to be quite interesting. There's quite a bit I haven't read yet (being 5AM and all), but if you're still open to applications I'll likely try and find my own niche in this messed up Pantheon tomorrow (today).

She has the traits of a very stereotypical Lovecraftian god, which isn't really where I was going with her and is a lot more limiting character-wise than gods designed in the style of classical mythology, but she still seems to be the only eldritch abomination in the roleplay so far unless I've missed someone's character and I rather like her.

BONUS.

@Antarctic Termite Wow, it feels like a legitimate lovecraftian creature. Pretty great. It will be an honor to share the domain of Beauty with you.

...The Cancer that Breathes...

Huh. Well, I guess that means Toun has something else to butt heads with. I think this one would be so exacerbating that he might actually ally with other people against this mudder.

That is a tasty godthing you've made there, mate.

@Muttonhawk Ooh I just read through the porcelain engineer's sheet and hot damn, am I going to like sharing interactions with that guy. He's wonderfully cohesive.

Character-wise, I think Toun is inevitably going to be the aggressor in whatever ideological clash may follow. Jvan will see him as a boring reductionist, but his jarring imperfection will strike her as a new, interesting contrast and she is going to remind him of it every step of the way. When she's not being tactful, anyway. You still won't have much trouble finding gods who'll hate her, I think.

Also I just swapped out her theme for another Lauren Bousfield song that's a little less flavourless (but still abrasive as fuck and I am so sorry for putting you all through my bad taste).

Dawnscroll Ordo ad Logos

Member Seen 6 yrs ago

@Antarctic Termite Oh look, yet ANOTHER monstrosity to this Lovecraftian Nightmare show. And you guys wonder why Logos wants to rule the world all to himself!

Okay, all seriousness. This is the CLOSEST thing to a pure Chaos God and thus, Logos's direct opposite (as opposed to mirror image) I have ever seen. One whose presence would would actually make him turn his head and and seek to actively destroy it. This is a corrupter, a think of nightmare made flesh.

So let's see... we have about three 'good' Gods, four creator gods (with Time, Order, Perfection, and Avanya all intending to add things), a shit ton of chaotic/corrupter gods, and about three Gods who are definitely evil in intent. So here is my proposal...

Avanya, from what I get from your character, beasts seem to include more 'amazing' creatures. Dragons, manticores, more custom made creatures. Especially since you put houses and tools as 'beasts' as well.

Voun, definately got the machine and automaton shtick going on there.

Vowzra, we've chatted. Logos is going to need your help~ Would be a great scene.

So here's just a thought for everyone. Does anyone care if Logos creates the species that are inherent in our world as it is: plants, humans, ordinary animals? Things that he consider to be 'part of the natural order' and in perfect balance. And then the rest of you non-creator gods can do your own corruption and siezing of those species, and twist them for your own reasons. Just ordinary and every day stuff; nothing fancy or special or esoteric.

Just posting to say I'm playing in the RP. Not quite sure what kind of god to play yet, but I have a few ideas. What's the thoughts on Adversary types? I don't mean evil, so much as playing devil's advocate...

Have you read some of the other character sheets that have already been submitted? If not, I'd urge you to stop and do that, both to see what sort of roles have already been taken and to maybe find inspiration in there somewhere.

To answer your question, we have a fair share of gods that are insane, selfish, or outright evil.

Yep.

By devil's advocate/adversary, I didn't mean selfish or evil. I meant more like someone who would provide the role of testing the world, giving challenges or providing temptation to good and bad creations alike. Someone who might whisper in a hero's ear just before he died that they could easily provide him with a way out...

The guy who would represent some aspect of the "easy way". Where morality and worship of a god, good or bad, might take dedication and provide spiritual satisfaction...the adversary would give you the chance to fall away from the long and arduous path, because it's just so much easier. And so much more rewarding.

An interesting concept! I can see you being able to pull off something like that.

I for one take no objection with it. What do you think your domain and portfolio would look be, though?

So here's just a thought for everyone. Does anyone care if Logos creates the species that are inherent in our world as it is: plants, humans, ordinary animals? Things that he consider to be 'part of the natural order' and in perfect balance. And then the rest of you non-creator gods can do your own corruption and siezing of those species, and twist them for your own reasons. I'm not sure how many other 'corruptive' gods I'm answering for here, if any, but as far as Jvan is concerned, Logos can go ahead and create or neglect to create anything he so pleases. Jvan's domain is beauty; She's an artist, engineer, and scientist. When there are creations nearby, she'll experiment. When there aren't, she'll be the one doing the creating.

I seriously considered having Jvan just not touch the planet at all and spend all her time creating radiation-fueled space fish in orbit around the Sun, ideally with Ull's blessing.

Anyway, from a writing standpoint, I'd prefer to start with a blank slate world so that she's less stylistically encumbered by having to overwrite what she finds, but the character herself won't actually care either way.

Hey, if you get to Slough first, and somehow manage to gain influence over her, you can use her to create whatever you want. As it is, Slough is going to be creating entire ecosystems accidentally, so you don't have to do everything. Given enough time without being bothered, her life essence could populate entire continents with plants and animals.

@Antarctic Termite looked her very briefly, but I'll read the CS properly later, bit pressed for time at the moment xD

I don't mind either way. Even if we start with a world filled in by Logos, everyone can go and create another species by themselves if they so wished. They are Gods, after all.
