So lately I've been listening/watching to some horror podcasts/movies/YouTube vids that all have this self narrated theme to them all. So had this idea for an RP that depicts several characters writing in their diaries about their day to day, hour to hour lives. Except they all have one thing in common, "Brahga Nuul"

Some think it's a place or an idea, some think it's a name or a title. Regardless each character is drawn to it, with a seemingly unnatural obsession. I as the GM will submit prompts to you in the main thread that have something to do with Brahga Nuul but it's up to each individual character to interpret the information I provide.

but as they continue to search they'll find that Brahga Nuul is not something to be taken lightly...

I'm in. Question: Do you know what Brahga Nuul definitively is? Or are we simply left with the horror of unknowing and vast alien somethings that most weird fiction stories resign themselves to? I'm a big fan of Lovecraft, Howard and modern Weird fiction so this is right up my alley.

Oh I definitely know what it is. It is primarily inspired by works of weird fiction, lovecraftian and others.

Another idea I neglected to put down because I felt the need to mull over it a bit is that the characters could be from different times or eras and that because of that, the information I provide to you could be interpreted in fundamentally different ways depending on their different beliefs and environments.

An additional concept was that each chapter or arc of the story represents the end of each character's journal or diary. By doing this I'd be able to allow characters to receive individual prompts such as "you find player 1's first journal in a bookstore, it is old and worn but contains rough descriptions of your own similar findings on Brahga Nuul" without breaking the fourth wall.

@Loco I could also recommend House of Leaves for a really good mind screw horror read.

The Evil Within for horror atmosphere.

Amnesia The Dark Descent too.

If you want some real uncanny valley horror try Bioshock Infinite or We Happy Few.

The best part is when they are measuring the length of one side of the house....

And then they realise the house is 1/4 inch bigger on the inside than the outside.

Then 1/8 inch.

Then it corrects itself.

Then everything goes to shit.

Brahga Nuul awaits...

Can't wait to talk about the painting of Nuul Avodave.
I'd love to pick the brain of owner and operator of 34th Avenue Antiques.
I wonder what The Giants Steppe had to do with this.
How did a certain noble meet her end?
What is Brahga Nuul?
......or why...
....or how...
..or when...
..or where...

Side note: everything is pretty much together but because of the medium on which I'm currently posting, i.e. My phone I won't be starting this till around Friday night EST. also I'm new to this forum gotta figure out some rules, regulations and customs first.
