HALP.

Recently joined this website because my other RPG site is practically dead--save for the all basic writing level ones. Joined this site in search of some advanced RPs to spice my sad sad saaaaaaad life up with and haven't found much of anything. That tells me that I should come up with an rpg of my own, but I'm not sure what this particular crowd is in to.

So, does anyone have any RPG ideas that they're willing to share?

The RPGuild community shifts its interest like whats "in" for fashion. I remember we had a stint of nothing but school RPs at one point, generally we're a very mixed bunch. My two biggest pieces of advice are to just poke around some more in casual or 1x1 and you might just need to have some more days on you; I know for a fact that some people don't trust greenhorns with less than a week's worth of experience on them. Just keep poking around and maybe you'll find something.

When making an Int Check, don't do what most new people do and just throw up a couple of lines and a really bland CS skeletons. Look at some of the other ones that have been made. Make it look fancy or special, just put work into and hopefully you'll get interest out of it.

@SavOrhchid

What makes the Guild a little special is that it isn't categorised in the RP themes; like Fantasy, School, or Sci-Fi; but more the type of writing style. Free (Speed posting), Casual (Average quality and most common) or Advanced (Longer post with high quality). This means that it contains a lot of variety with themes and genres. One RP I entered was a Steampunk/Cyberpunk RP with pirate fights on a flying ship... Not the sort of thing that is easy to categorise in a genre, but easy to categorise in the type of writing style that you will be after.

If you were thinking about starting up an RP, I would perhaps hold off for a short while and maybe wait and see what the interest checks have to offer. The Interest Checks are more like bulletin boards that advertise what's new and upcoming in the available RPs. I recently waited 3 weeks to find a cyberpunk RP that I was happy with and we are now under way with some REALLY good posting, so I'm happy... but sometimes you have to be a little patient. Not only that, but joining an RP will at least get your name out there so when it comes to making an RP you may get a better response as people will know who you are (Again, that's only a suggestion but plenty of people start RPs early on in their membership and do get some good results)

The thing to remember is that the forum is very active even when it seems quiet. There's always little conversations going on, plenty of people willing to jump in on general and roleplay discussion topics, and a chatbox if you want to see what the others are up to. If you have any questions there is always someone willing to help.

Anything really, so long as it's interesting. I Prefer dark roleplays, but I can be persuaded. c: Why, have anything in mind?

If it should interest you, we've got a Star Wars RP that can be considered pretty dark running, @SavOrhchid.

Jedi taken captive and held by Sith who have two goals:
1. Turn the Jedi to the Dark Side
2. Convince the Jedi to serve the Sith Empire

You can find the link to it in our signature.

It is very much advanced, with some (collaborative) posts being in the numerous pages in length.

Right now it seems the Superheroes franchises and Star Wars themes are the most popular. Probably because of how the movie industry is at the moment with a lot of superhero movies being dished out like it was going out of fashion and of course with the much anticipated Star Wars Episode 7 that just came out.

Also a lot of the TV shows that are currently running tend to give people the most ideas for an Alternate Universe fandom.

You could try to search key words but I myself have better luck with 1x1s as you're not waiting for weeks on end for something to happen. you can cater to one person easier than five and can give it that more personal touch via more frequent communication.

I had my very slow days easing into the Guild back in 2012. Eventually you do come across little gems of roleplays. ^^

Trust me, it WILL happen.

Thank's for the invite! Though I'm not too familiar with the Star Wars Franchise, sorry!

Familiarity with the lore is no requirement for joining if you're willing to ask questions and/or read up a bit at need, @SavOrhchid.

I like this site a lot because, as mentioned above, it's pretty advanced in how it approaches different RPs. You just need to check the Interest Checks or make one yourself and you'll be surprised at how quickly you can find yourself a game or two, and how you'll find people you'll enjoy talking to. I've managed to find a good group of people on here I like interacting with, even though the games we were in have long since died.

You'll find something you'll like, for sure. I would suggest you be prepared for a game dying, because it's been known to happen. Not all the time, thankfully, but it does occur.
