Character background: (3 detailed paragraphs minimum)
Jana was born in Hamburg, Germany and lived there for the majority of her life. She grew up in a single parent family with simply her father for company. Her mother died not too long after she was born, taken by complications of childbirth. Not exactly blessed with a high-paying job and with a variety of vices to feed, he struggled to support the family with the paltry income he had. Despite engaging in smoking and drinking often, it was fortunate that like many other drunkards, he did not turn abusive under the influence of alcohol. As soon as she grew old enough, she began to take up part-time jobs in order to have an income of her own, as her father was little to help, as what little money he had left went to paying the bills, leaving almost nothing for her to use. The periods she spent at school was a whirl, as time went by really quickly as she would rush to her various part-time jobs after school ended for the day.
Not too long after her eighteenth birthday, two state police officers came knocking at her home door one day, only to inform her that her father was dead. His corpse was found in a back alley by a kitchen assistant who had gone out to throw the trash. It seemed like he had been mugged and stabbed, left for dead, his body laying on the ground as he bled to death. A momentary period of disbelief came over her, but somehow that was all it was. There was no grief that usually came along with a parent passing, as he was never a father to her, nor had he ever acted as one. The disbelief was not about the fact of his passing, but the fact that she was now alone. As bad and as useless as he was, at least the house wasn't as lonely as it was now. After Jana recovered from her adjustment phase, she filed a application to join up with the State Police. Graduating from the police academy after two and half years of training, she began a career as a patrol officer who dealt in the everyday police matters. She eventually progressed on to a more senior position where she became in charge of training and guiding her fellow officers on the ground. As the years went on, terrorism threat became more prevalent in the country and both the police forces require more manpower to counter the increasing threat of both internal and external terrorists activities. Having a excellent track record soon proved fruitful as she was recommended by her superiors to fill the ranks of a newly created division.
She along with other her officers were deployed in public areas, such as stadiums, train stations and shopping malls both to safeguard the local populace as well as to act as a show of force to deter anyone from doing something stupid. Expressing her interest of first-aid to her superiors, she was eventually sent on a first-aid course, supplementing her work knowledge and keeping her hands full and her time fully utilised. After four years of service, Jana voiced out her dream of joining the GSG9. They laughed at her, all of them. While the service has always been open to women, very few had managed to survive the gruelling trainings that they would have to undergo to call themselves apart of their elite counter-terror unit. They kept persuading her to change her mind, indicating that she had little to no chance of making the cut and she would simply be wasting her time, Jana, however, was not inclined to listen. Once she had decided on something, she always saw it through with an iron will. This would be no different. She was then subsequently transferred to the Federal Police in Berlin, where she began the start of the training and processes that would see if she was worthy.
After twenty-two weeks of training, which included thirteen weeks of basic training and nine weeks of specialised training, she found herself at the finishing point, having survived the entirety of the training process. She had beaten countless other recruits, most of which was men, who all similarly vied for the open positions within the team. She was eventually selected to be a combat medic for a squad, and began to undergo more weeks of specialised combat medic training. None of her previous teams knew the results of her training, as the members of the GSG9 were kept a secret. Now part of the unit for four years, she has served the unit with pride and commitment. Those in charge of assembling the task force known as Trident had apparently liaised with both the Federal Intelligence Service and the Federal police, and as a show of appreciation for the close friendship between the two countries, Germany has offered to send no more than a single operative from their elite counter-terror unit. Jana volunteered for the position and was subsequently send over to the United States to be part of the task force.
