Dungeon Crawl

(Always open, though how busy I am varies greatly and may affect being able to take on more partners.)

Hi everyone, Lumi here, looking for some partners for a thing I used to do here a while back. Thought I'd make a new thread for it in the 1x1 section for a fresh start. Even though there's a lot of combat involved, I'd say it's narratively driven enough to warrant putting it in the 1x1 section. Also there's more traffic here, so there's that.

Here's how it works: we set up a narrative, probably a simple enough one to start, that sees a hero character (me) go up against a series of opponents (you) in an effort to complete some goal. The RPs are primarily fights, but the fights are all connected by some kind of storyline that my character has to unravel to give it all some context. Some examples of dungeon crawls I've done (and completed) in the past include:
  • A student of magic being trapped in an ancient tomb on an expedition, and trying to escape (made it out of that one alive)
  • An adventurer arriving in an empty village and trying to figure out what happened to all the townsfolk (actually got eaten by a giant summoned monster at the end of that one)
  • A monster hunter being hired to deal with some sort of beasts plaguing a town from the woods (made off with a nice supply of gold that time)
  • An elven adventurer sent to investigate a wizard's tower, and the strange experiments supposedly happening there (managed to clear out the whole tower)
  • Even a demi-god type character, being trapped by a demon of sorts, and forced to fight creatures in his arena (didn't survive that one, unfortunately)

So you can see that the narratives don't have to be very complicated, and you can also see that my character doesn't survive all of them. The fights are a lot more fun I find if there's some possibility for death, especially later on in the crawl. Usually the first enemies aren't the toughest, but by the end it isn't at all easy to win. The above crawls were all around 3-4 encounters or stages, though obviously some varied. I've mostly played fantasy settings, but I'm not opposed to sci-fi or even modern settings. Just not too big on guns.

The idea is to have fun fighting against wicked stuff you can come up with (I do enjoy delving through and fighting against pretty dark stuff), and have short, concise stories that actually come to some resolution. I'm looking for people that can post at least one good paragraph or more per post. I have trouble working with free level RPers. Posting rate, I would like if you could post once a day, slightly less is fine, more is great.

Let me know below or in a PM if this sounds interesting to you, and we can set up something up. I prefer to do the 1x1s through PM. If you have any questions, or just wanna talk to me about something, I'm all ears.

Thanks!

I'd be interested. A paragraph or two is no problem for me.

I remember doing one of these with ya a while ago. Would you want to do another one? I had a really good time doing the first narrative dungeon crawl.

@13 Critics I could probably fit in one more of these, yeah. Send me a PM? If you have general ideas about what kind of scenario you want to try, I have characters that will fit well with anything fantasy.

On my phone for the moment, but I can discuss more in a few hours, tops.
