@Fubsy @Lunar As June grabbed the spear, the trap meant to foil would-be tomb robbers was set in motion! Almost immediately, the column starts collapsing, stone and wood puzzle pieces splitting apart and crashing to the ground!

Wimena whirled around as June came flying in. She drew her blade at the sight of the ghoul, her body tensing in readiness as she stepped beside June. "Don't hog all the fun," she said, yet her voice held a shaky edge.

A sudden boom cascaded around the. Wimena whirled around and gulped. Fantastic. A monster and a trap. Just what they needed. She dashed forward and plucked the shield from the rubble, careful to avoid the debris, before grabbing June. "We need to find a way out!"

June picked up the halfling and baited the ghoulish husk away as she moved close to the the crawl space. After June did that she dashed for the ledge with the halfling now in her arms as she turned the corners and made it back to the room with the snake skins, leaving the husk back in the rubble and setting the half lying down with a little crunch from the skins.

Wimena held the shield before her and June, someone managing to carry it despite the weight. She kept her blade out and ready, and, whether gripped by madness or stupidity or both, she ducked behind the shield and charged.

"Rockmar! Cedric!" the Constable could hear... something... crashing and rumbling coming from the crawlspace.

As Wimena charged, the ghoul leapt upwards into the secret tunnel, though not quite fast enough to completely avoid the shield and it clipped his legs. An eery scream echoed back down, though whether it came from the ghoul or the serpent was impossible to say...

In the chamber, more rubble falls from above, small chunks skipping down into the tunnel.

Before Tarquin could respond Eve heard yelling and crashing sounds from the other end of the tunnel. She picked up her skirts and ran up the stairs. "Wimena? Rockmar? Are you guys all okay?" She hurried towards the sounds and she stopped. There were voices coming from two different directions. "Where are you?"

Wimena skidded to a halt, eyes wide and grip tight. It worked. It actually worked! A sigh of relief escaped from her throat as she heard voices from farther down the collapsing tunnel. "We're over here!" she called. "Let's hurry," she said to June, moving faster.

Rockmar looked at Cedric when they heard the rumble and calling out. "Let us go. The girls need us." Both Rockmar and Cedric ran back from the direction they came. Rockmar cried out as he ran, "We are coming! Come to us if you can! Everybody to me!"

Eve looked back and ran back down the stairwell and grabbed Tarquin's hand. "We have to run. One of the rooms is collapsing!" Eve pulled him with her. She couldn't understand what he was doing there just staring at a bear skull. "Faster Tarquin!" They got to where Rockmar was and she pulled her cloak up over her head.

Jason was in the captains cabin of the Elfleda. "I understand this concern of yours captain. I just don't have the materials to make it." He sais while handing the captain some documents. "Those documents contain everything you need. Instructions, list of materials, the only thing you dont have is the guy who spent the time to plan it." Jason always had a sooth voice. It didn't matter what he was talking about, he was always soft spoken. "If you manage to get the materials then I assure you I would make it myself. Anyway, thank you for the trip and the pay for those designs. I have to get going though. The others got off awhile ago and I don't want to fall behind." Jason gathered his things and with a wave, left the cabin. It didn't take long for Jason to be taken to shore. He stepped onto this new land and took in a breath. "Wow! This place is depressing." His mood changed as he looked around. He walked over to the closest person he could find. "Excuse me, do you know where I may happen to find Constable Leofwine? I was told a few days back that should speak with him when I arrive. I'm afraid I was late however and missed the larger group." It bothered Jason a bit. He didn't like being left behind. Then again he never actually met any of the others given he was helping to solve a problem. "I really hope all goes well. It would be terrible to come all this way for nothing."

"Is everyone okay?" Eve asked Rockmar upon their arrival. She could see the dust and debris coming from the other end of the tunnel and she heard the girls voices. She could see Cedric and the constable were alright. "Lunar? Wimena? Are you alright?" Eve coughed as the dust in the air became heavier. She started to cough so hard that she walked out the exit of the cave entirely. She sat down outside to get her breathing back under control. The sun was going down, it would be dark soon.

A cloud of dust clogged the air like a thick fog, each breath the halfling took a smothering gasp. The shield proved durable despite its time underground, blocking out falling rocks that would have otherwise knocked out Wimena, or worse. A thin layer of dust turned Wimena's dark skin into pale stone. The cloud of debris was starting to thankfully fade, but the trembling remained. Wimena gasped in relief as familiar figures came into view, and she quickened her pace. "We're here!"

@BKburke The sun was low on the horizon by this time and the man Jason approached was a stern, hawkish man, sporting a long mustache and fierce eyes, probably about 50 winters in age. "Not back yet," he answered, pausing his task of stacking wood next to a large brazier to extend a hand toward the newcomer. The village was small enough that the man didn't need to guess that Jason had come from the ship. "I'm Nothan," he said. "The constable and a few others from your ship left this morning to see if they could find the beast's lair." He glanced toward the sun. "I'd expect 'em back soon... at least I hope," he couldn't hide the worry in his voice.

Tarquin followed after Eve while covering his mouth to keep the dust out. Calmly the tall elf seated himself next to the red haired woman. "I'd say the structural integrity of that place was a bit compromised than I had hoped." He rolled his eyes and smiled. "That was a nice bit of scouting I'd say. At least we are alive."

Rockmar called towards the ledge, "June! June are you alright. Come out if you can. We will help you kill those things." He looked at Cedric, "Can you go in there and help her if you need to? Do you have a dagger or something for tight spaces?" Rockmar looked at the ledge with a worrying face, waiting for June to come out or call for help.

The whole northern chamber seemed to rumble slightly with the noise of several tons of stone and earth collapsing somewhere above them, filling the false tomb that had contained the trap. "June!" Cedric yelled, but the levitating woman emerged a few moments later, covered in dust and still carrying a spear.

(Note: Just that single chamber collapsed, nothing else!)

Eve nodded still trying to stop her coughing. "Yes, it is. I do fear we may be too late to get back to the main building in town though. It is entirely possible that they might not survive the night if that building is not reinforced or if that hound is more determined to get inside. Eve looked into her bag and pulled out a couple of apples and handed him one. "Here, we haven't eaten in a while."

She looked up as the noise inside got closer. "I think the others are about done in there, I hope. We really need to get back."

"June, Wimena, I am glad you two are safe. Cedric and I found a chest, but did not have time to open it yet. Let us four go get it. Come on." Rockmar leads the three others back to where they saw the chest.

Wimena followed along close behind. The weight of the shield was becoming less cumbersome, so she kept it around her arm. Better safe than sorry, after all. "We found some things as well," she said as she began to explain the now collapsed chamber. "These weapons and that chest may aid in defeating the beast."
