Riverside, California
In a seemingly functional nation, there are special ones. These special ones are young adults from the ages of 16-35 who have the ability to morph into an animal. They also have powers they can use in human form that relate to the animal their morph power insinuates. The animal power was not given to them by choice. These children were granted at birth this power for unknown reasons. Some because of their family name, some because of their smarts, and others were simply, by mistake. The one who grants powers is not known and will never be known. When the children realize their power is dependent upon their intelligence level and how fast they mature. The smarter children realize their power faster and have more control over it. Those who develop slower, have less control and have to work harder to get good at their power. These children are from all around the world and are all pulled to the U.S. once they are drawn for the Games. . .
If you are lucky enough to be drawn, you are flown to Riverside County in the US to await the start of the games. If you have family there, you are permitted to live with them, although your surveillance rate doubles. If not, you are forced to abide in the government building designated for the tributes. During the time you are staying in the government building, you are strictly forbidden to use your powers. (Or at least, don't get caught using them.) There are cameras everywhere besides the bathrooms and your room so you have to be careful. Everyone that is drawn has the option to receive survival training or not. If you feel like you're good enough and prepared then why bother right? It is recommended that you attend but students in the past have rejected training and done pretty well in the arena. Outside the government building you are free to use your powers all you want as long as you can stand the insanely confused looks you get from the normal people. The Arena is Joshua Tree National park. Since it is a desert, the conditions are harsh and you have to learn to survive quickly. Yes many of you will die. You may form alliances if you wish but remember there can only be one Victor and you want that to be you. Once there is a Victor, he/she will be sent home and allowed to return to their lives as normal (with a small loan of a million dollars) to use however they may please.
Starting at age 16, your name is entered into the drawing once. For every year you skate by, another of your name is entered. The more years you age without being selected, the more times your name is entered. Some get drawn right from the beginning, while others may never get drawn at all. Once you are in the arena, there will be supplies hidden waiting to be found. Some will be difficult to acquire as some are only meant for certain animals to use. Let’s say that you’re an animal that can’t climb a tree, (a deer perhaps) and there is a bow and arrow sitting up in a tree; you obviously wouldn’t be getting that bow and arrow would you? Unless of course you change to human form and climb the tree without getting stuck up there or getting caught by another human/animal and attacked. As you can tell, this game requires stealth, intellect and intelligent decision making.
Please realize that I (as the GM) reserve all rights to change the arena, terminate players and control the environment around you. I probably will let you guys do that for yourselves though. . . Now here come the rules!
